Not long after Maria Hill gets the team out of the predicament, both Hill's assault chopper and the Quinjet that carries Sara land on the pad on top of the SHIELD headquarters. As soon as the rubber meets the pad, Steve leaps out of the chopper and tears off his battle helmet, looking toward the Quinjet and jogging towards it as quick as possible. His face looks worried.

Sara Pezzini looks just like she did as she walked into the Triskelion this morning when she walks off of the jet, except for the fact that she's…Well, she's grinning. It worked! When she sees Steve's face, though, her smile falters and she quickly looks around the deck. "Hey, everyone made it out, right?" she asks quickly.

"Yeah," Captain America says with a nod as he approaches her, barely slowing down as he reaches out to hug her. "Everyone made it out. Barton and Manning got hit, but they should be okay. You scare the daylights out of me."

"Oh, hey," Sara laughs, a little surprised by the hug, though she returns it easily. "Me? Scare you? I just took a stroll," she points out, amused. "There's something more than a little bit ironic about the person with the armor being the one person who didn't take any fire."

Steve is listening to her but he's almost not there. He's paying attention, but the words don't seem to resonate. "The wings…You never told me about those," he says looking at her intently.

"They're sort of new," Sara admits, a little bit sheepish. "This is, ah. The second time I've used them. First time on purpose." She seems to have forgotten that she's left an arm around his shoulders, smile quirking crooked. "To be fair, I've never really fallen from anything more than a building, so it's usually been more efficient to grapple back at the building, you know?"

Steve nods to her but isn't really hearing her. Instead he just pulls her closer to him for a bit and stands there awkwardly in front of about 100 SHIELD agents hugging Sara. One of the agents event cups a hand and whispers to another.

"Hey," Sara laughs softly, wrapping the other arm around his neck and ducking her chin slightly. "Hey, it's okay, Steve. I may not be a super-soldier, but I'm a little more durable than the average girl. Move it along, people," she calls toward the onlookers. "Hill's in the other jet, I know you don't want her to see you standing around gawking." Looking back to Steve, she shakes her head. "So, is this you saying maybe you'd like to go out some time where I'm not getting drunk and unloading on you?" she asks, gently teasing.

He doesn't immediately respond to that, instead he responds to her joke. "What makes you think I care what in the heck Hill thinks?" After a split moment he nods, "Yeah, I think I'd like that a lot."

"I'd warn you about how my dates tend to get interrupted, but you don't seem like the sort of guy who can't keep up," Sara grins back at him. "Though, as a side note, I sort of care what Hill thinks. If only because if I piss her off, she probably won't let me come and get in trouble with you guys anymore."

Steve looks up and looks around at the gawkers and lets Sara go. He looks over his shoulder and only now fully realizes how many people were watching. "Glad to see Paul's alive," he says awkwardly, not knowing what else to say.

Sara smirks when Steve catches on to the crowd of onlookers, shaking her head. "He's back," she agrees. "And it's…a relief. A big one. It's not really over. Not with the circumstances. But he's back, and I'm going to make sure he stays that way." She takes a deep breath, flashing a grin. "I'm going to be spending some time focusing on really knowing what I'm doing here. So there may be more jumping out of planes, or taking chances. But Steve?" Arching a brow, she sets a hand to his chest. "It's going to take a hell of a lot more than a flying sub to take me down." And with that, she tries to pull him down to claim a kiss. Because if SHIELD is going to stare? Well, they might as well get a show.

As her words hit him, Steve mentally backpedals. He wasn't trying to tell her what to do or how to live her life, he was just worried that's all and didn't want to — He stops thinking as she kisses him and even goes so far as to drop his helmet in the process.

Sara doesn't pull her punches with the kiss, making sure she gets in a good one before breaking away with a wry smile. "Come on," she murmurs, tilting her head down the landing strip. "Let's go check on Manning and Barton."
