The files had lead here, to the oldest university in New York. Columbia is… well, a bit exclusive for Bobby's blood. He was never particularly well off, nor particularly influential and this place bleeds money and power. Still, there's a good chance that there's a Nutate somewhere around here who misses her brother and if they can find her, well… she won't have to anymore.

If Bobby and Nancy can convince her that they're not Hydra, that is.

Bobby's got the car parked and is just getting out, looking out over the wide quad that the main buildings surround. "Whew. This place is nice."

-

Nancy looks around at the campus. So this is Columbia. For all the mocking of the place that they do at Juilliard, it's actually pretty impressive. Is that going to stop her from making the Columbia jokes? Not likely. But at least now she knows what the place is like when she is mocking them for being only the second best music school in the country.

She looks at the file in her lap. "Okay, her name is Jennifer Dickson. It has her flagged like I was, that she doesn't seem to display any actual mutation other then her X-gene. She's very smart though. Maybe super intelligence? Like the twins?"

-

"It's not a big school Nan." Bobby notes. "But it's still about ten thousand students. Did the file have anything to help us narrow it down, because otherwise we're going to be here for a while." He looks about slowly across the quad, thinking. "Good thing it's still summer. Though do we know that she's even here?"

-

Nancy is flipping through the file. "Well, she doesn't live in the dorm, so that's not going to help us. They don't actually know where she is living. Which is why we're here. Catching her in a class is our best bet. Okay, so she's in the sciences. Engineering program. So… I guess we start there. Here is a picture of her. She's cute, if you like brunettes with pale skin and broody looks. Copycat. I was so doing it first."

Nancy gets out of the car, the file in one hand. "Let's head over to the Engineering department and look around."

-

Bobby takes a look at the picture. She is cute, yes. He grins. "I like mine better." He says kissing Nancy on the cheek. "Okay, engineering building is across the quad so… let's take a walk shall we? How long has she been here?" It's almost enough to make Bobby feel like a hydra agent himself, except they're here to help and not to force her to help them.

-

Nancy smiles when Bobby kisses her. "Well, that's good, cause yours is pretty sweet on you too," she replies. He's made her soft. She's not nearly as mean as she used to be. And she doesn't regret it for a moment.

"Okay, according to the file, she is actually almost finished her Doctorate. Wait… Engineers have Doctorates? And she's only 21, like me. Says here she started here at 16… so 5 years and she's almost finished? So, super smart and super dedicated."

-

"So she'll be in the postgrad classes… or teaching a basic course. Hey, you've got your smartphone right? look up the basic level engineering courses and see if her name pops up. Doctorate students do that kind of thing." Good thing Bobby paid a bit of attention to who was teaching his physics classes or he'd never have known that.

"I'm glad she is." He grins, squeezing her about the shoulders. "I was worried about losing her to this roller derby chick." He teases.

-

Nancy gets out her smartphone and starts checking things out. "Okay, so yes, she is running a class and … woah. Okay, not a popular person. Some of the student remarks here are pretty scathing. She treats us like we're stupid, says one. Toughest class there is, says another. Not all of us are wunderkind, says another. So… okay, that tells us something. That building over there is where her class is."

Nancy can't help but smile and chuckle, her shoulder bumping softly with his since her hands are occupied with file and phone. "Nah, Darce may have been fun, but she's not you. You…. " She pauses to look at Bobby. She looks at him for a good long moment and then looks away quickly, smiling from ear to ear and … is that a blush? Nah, couldn't be. "Nevermind."

-

Bobby doesn't press. He doesn't want to embarrass her. "Okay, so she's gonna be over my head and a bit acerbic. That's fine. We've dealt with worse. What's her brother's name again? I still can't keep track of them all." They head up to the building. That class is on the second floor and should be getting out in a few minutes.

-

Nancy snorts softly. "You would think that would be the one name you do remember, you goon. Bobby, just like you. The kid. He's like twelve or so. Youngest one on the farm, really reclusive. Not that I blame him, being in what's basically a jail cell for nearly a year. He likes to hang out with the Moms, now that they're sober. I could kiss that damn doctor. He's worked miracles. I never thought my mom would ever be… " Again, she grows quiet. She then smacks Bobby with the file as she dabs at her eyes. "Jerk. You're gonna ruin my make-up." Yeah, cause it's totally his fault.

They walk into the building, looking around. "Okay, if she's gonna be talking over *your* head, she's gonna *hate* me."

-

Bobby waits outside the door as grumbling students file out. He grins listening to them. Sounds like they have the right place. "Okay. Shall we do this?"

He pushes the door open and steps inside. It's not hard to find Dickenson, she's the only one in the room now. The ice nerd takes a moment to size her up. Younger than he is, but very intelligent. Probably used to taking a lot of flack for her age and compensating with her mind. He clears his throat. "Miss Dickenson?"

-

The young woman that sits at her desk doesn't look all like one would expect a teacher to look like. Her clothing is soft and feminine, long flowing skirt, lace, button-up style boots. She has an almost Victorian thing going for her. She doesn't wear make-up or style her hair, giving that natural Victoriana feel to her more weight. As the pair walk into her classroom, she sets down her pen with a sigh. "If you came here to ask to be let out of my class, then the answer is no. If you didn't want to take my class, you shouldn't have signed up for it in the first place. So either fail or pass, but that's entirely your choice."

Nancy arches a brow as she hears this. "Wow, she makes the profs at Juilliard sound normal."

-

"Actually I'm here about Bobby." The ice nerd says quietly. Lets see if that gets a reaction. He's hoping she won't turn aggressive or have a gun because… well if she does this is going to go fairly badly. "Neither of us are actually students here. And you don't teach my subject anyway."

-

Jennifer's jaw tightens at the mention of her little brother's name. She turns around in her chair and looks at the both as if sizing them up. "I was wondering why you haven't been around for awhile. I was almost going to come and look for you. But here you are." She opens a drawer of the desk she is at and pulls out… well it's not a gun. It's some sort of remote looking thing.

-

Bobby moves slowly away from Nancy, glancing over to her. "We was at the hospital when we raided it. A lot of the guys you think we are? Well… mostly they're dead now. They pissed off a couple of really scary people." Yeah, Jericho and Partisan qualify as scary. "I'd have brought him by to see you but we actually weren't even sure if we could find you." He gestures to the file in Nancy's hand. "That's all we had to go on."

-

Nancy holds up her hands as she walks closer over to Jennifer, putting the other Nutate nice and snug in her little field of nothing. Jennifer eyes her suspiciously and then holds out the remote, her thumb hovering over a button. "I wouldn't come any closer if I were you," she says to the goth girl. But Bobby seems to be the one that is doing the talking, so he gets most of her attention.

"Are you trying to say that you took on Polyglobal? That you killed a bunch of them? Okay, so you're murderers, I know that much about you. And you seem to have a file with my name on it, so you know more about me then I like, I know that too. And you claim to have my brother. So… what makes you any different from Polyglobal?"

-

"We didn't kill anyone. A couple of soldiers did, and they weren't Polyglobal. They were HYDRA." Bobby's eyes narrow and a javelin of ice materializes in his hand. "Don't make me do something I may regret later."

"As for what makes us different, let me see… we're not performing unetheical and illegal drug and genetics experiments on anyone, we're not holding anyone against their will, we're not trying to force you to come work for us and we're not going to be upset if you want to take your brother and go. How's that for a start?"

-

Jennifer's eyes dart from Bobby to Nancy, back and forth like she is trying to figure out who is the bigger threat. Bobby is doing all the talking and the one that just created an ice spear out of thin air, but somehow, the fact that Nancy doesn't seem to be doing anything other then standing there makes her seem more dangerous. Jennifer keeps trying to back away from Nancy, who keeps trying to keep Jennifer in her field. It's like a complicated dance. Jennifer now points the remote at Bobby. "Back off, frosty. You really don't want me using this."

-

Jennifer's brow knits. She's not happy about something. Other then the situation, that is. It's a normal response around Nancy. It's the face that says 'why is my power not working'. "I don't know who Hydra is, other then a mythical dragon from greek legend. And if you're willing to give me my brother and let me go, prove it."

-

"I did track and field for a long time Jennifer. If you think I can't pin you to the wall, think again. I'd rather not, of course, and sure, if you want your brother back you can either come with us now or we can meet somewhere that you choose. Our place isn't close though so it'd probably be a bit later." The ice spear keeps tracking Jennifer warily.

-

Jennifer's dark brown eyes shoot daggers at Bobby. Not literally, but he can feel them all the same. She doesn't like him much. "Meet me tomorrow. At the carousel. You bring my little brother and maybe, just maybe, I'll listen to what you have to say. Till then, get out of my classroom."

-

"Sounds good. We done here Nancy?" Bobby tosses the ice spear into a corner of the room. Sadly, he can't make them melt so Jennifer gets to explain why it's there until it does. Should only take a few hours. Probably.$r

-

Nancy looks to Bobby and nods, backing away and pulling her power into herself as close as she can. It's a little tighter then the three feet she has been doing, but not really enough to make note of. "Tomorrow then. We will see you there." She dips her head down in farewell and then puts the folder on the nearest table. "Now you have all the information that we had. No secrets, I promise."
