After Jericho's Gotham errand and run in the other night he'd come home… well, frankly a bit upset. It wasn't that people had tried to kill him. People do that all the time though come to think of it a bit less than they used to. It was the fact that he's was almost positive Spoiler had been targeted by mistake. Sure, it could be coincidence that a young blond near him was shot at with an awful, instantly addictive, power negating drug. It could also have more to do with Illyana than he, since there are some fairly rabid and extreme anti-mutant groups out there and Illyana is public. But given the blue energy weapons and obvious military training in play, he was guessing it was at least a bit related to him. And that made him mad for reasons that… well, he's still working out.

After spending most of the night stuffing the emotions back in where they came from - wherever that is - and being awake because it just had to be one of his bad nights, he'd felt normal enough to clear himself for human interaction the next morning.

So here he is, round about lunch time, working on BLT fixins becaue they are A)Inexpensive and B) Delicious. Mostly B. It's possible Kitty might slip over for lunch, as she does have a standing invitation and he seems to vaguely remember something about he or Illyana inviting her over today. Could have been either, it was before his fight in Limbo a bit back and he's a bit… fuzzy on things right around then. Damn knock to the head. Anyway, this means there's extra food in the offing. And vodka. Cause it's a vodka kind of day.

-

Illyana wasn't around last night, but that's hardly unusual. While she may be sleeping more latley, Illyana's gone way too long avoiding sleeping to be comfortable doing it regularly. Between school, limbo, the 'job' aspect of X-Men: Red and y'know, the hero part, she has a pretty full dance card. A stepping disk opens in the middle of the living room and the blonde steps through in college student chic (plus her ass-kicking boots) and backpack. "Lunch. You're amazing, have I told you this recently?" She teases him by way of 'hello'.

-

Jericho looks up and flashes Illyana a smile. Not, what one would call a bright smile but as good as he ever gets. His eyes gleam a bit. No really. They actually gleam. "I do try." He chuckles, looking Illyana over. There's some part in the back of his mind that takes the opportunity to make sure she's okay. Which is natural. She's his after all. Er… yeah… that's… that's right, isn't it?

There's a clink of plates and glasses and a minute later there's two sandwiches and a glass of vodka on the counter. "Dig in. There's plenty more." And no K'nert to try and swipe the bacon either. The imp may be an ice cream fiend but apparently there's little on either side of the stepping disk that doesn't like bacon at least a little.

-

Illyana's backpack is dumped onto the couch as she heads over to the table and joins Jericho there. "I could keep you for the regular cooking alone." She jokes. Illyana's a terrible cook. About the only thing she does well is hot chocolate from scratch and really, that's thanks to Kitty. Hot chocolate is like, the best thing after ice skating. Not that Illyana's done that for years now…

"K'nert's alright.. but still out. If he doesn't wake up soon I'm going to see about forcing him too because it's getting into unnatural lengths." She has a feeling he was Spelled, but she can't use her Soulsword to break any enchantments on him without killing the imp. Downsides of being a magical creature.

-

Jericho nods. He knows there's little enough he can do and trusts Illyana to tell him if there is anything on his end that'd be helpful. K'nert must have taken a hell of a knock though to be out cold. Prior to now he wasn't entirely sure the thing could sleep. "No trouble from the natives, I hope?" Though it doesn't look like Illyana's spent too much time there recently. He can usually tell because she goes from college student to leather-clad death metal roadie. Also the fact that her shirt's slightly too big for her is a giveaway.

"How's the public life thing going? Any hiccups?" He's betting not, but after the other night, he wants to be sure. This is apparently not something he can leave to chance anymore.

-

"A few people have recognized me at school, which is more because I…" Illyana frowns, thinking how to word it. "I'm memorable, I suppose. Usually because I give them spine-prickles and not anything nice but it does mean they tend to look at me more than they would otherwise. So… yeah. They've been alright about it though. Anyone starts getting annoying and I can usually stare 'em down."

-

And, much as anticipated (or possibly anticipated, or just guessed at) there is a knock on the door shortly after Jericho starts putting out sandwiches on the counter. Lockheed is perched on her shoulder like a scaly purple parrot, perhaps already eager to be inside because he smells bacon.

For her part, Kitty is wrestling closed a damp umbrella from the drizzly midday walk from the subway to Illyana and Jericho's apartment. It's one of those cheap black umbrellas that are two dollars and break in a sturdy wind or after two uses. At least it did its job of getting her here mostly dry.

-

The knock at the door actually makes Jeri jump a little. His thoughts had been on ambushes and firefights and it takes him a moment to realize that oh yes, he was in fact expecting someone. "That'll be Kitty." He mumurs, getting up to answer the door and admitting the slightly damp young woman and her exotic pet inside. "Come on in. Lunch is already on the table, feel free to help yourself to whatever's in the fridge to drink." Soda, Vodka (good vodka too), milk and water. Some beer from when May was over last.

Jericho settles down back in his seat by Illyana and poaches another sandwich. Mmmm BLTs. He grins a little. He certainly finds the sorceress memorable though he's got reasons that aren't the standard issue.

-

It's something, to watch the way Illyana's expression just seems to… brighten when Kitty comes in. "Hey Pryde. You're looking like a drowned cat." She teases, given that no, Kitty's not even close to that level of wet. She breaks off some of her bacon and tosses it Lockheed's way. "Hey, dragon." Lockheed is not a pet!

-

As Kitty steps past Jericho, Lockheed immediately takes wing and goes straight of the counter. That little dragon has his priorities straight. Keeping her umbrella by the door, she kicks off her bright yellow galoshes to keep by the door. No use tracking in city grit and dampness into their nice apartment.

Lockheed snatches the piece of bacon that Illyana tosses his way; it's gone in milliseconds. Socked feet move immediately to the kitchen, snagging one of the beers that Logan left when May was over. And then, she takes a sandwich, pilfering a little of the bacon from it to feed to Lockheed. With a lopsided grin to Illyana, Kitty points with a finger from the hand holding the beer. "Yeah, well, you look like you've been studying too hard for finals, Yana." It's a lame comeback. She knows this. Settling down in a chair, she puts the beer down and picks up her sandwich.

"Where's the underfooters?" She glances about, noticing that there's no little magic creatures trying to give Lockheed a hard time.

-

"K'nert ran afoul of something on the other side." Jericho says between bites, his brows knitting together a little. That still upsets him and there's a little voice in the back of his head that says it does so probably a bit more than it should. He waves it off after a moment. "He's recovering, so at the moment both your bacon and any ice cream you may choose to fish out of the freezer are safe."

The last of that sandwich disappears and Jericho procures another. There really is a whole stack of them and if they're easily consumed, they are also easily replaced. "Either of you know much about Smooth? Had any trouble with it on your end of things?"

-

"Moe will probably show up, but he's more likely to go after Jericho's vodka than your food." Most of the Bamfs are big into whiskey. Moe's had to learn to go with vodka, as it's the staple here. Illyana frowns at the mention of Smooth.

"I've heard about it a bit, but not a lot of details. Suppresses mutant powers, insanely addictive. I'd probably have looked into it more if I wanted a 'cure' for my power." Teleporting though is cool. Unlike say, not being able to touch anyone. Illyana has zero interest in getting rid of her powers. Even when she was six, she wanted to be a mutant like her big brother.

-

"He'll be alright, though?" The little demon may be a bit foul tempered, but Kitty's found of the creature. Plus, it's funny to watch it and Lockheed play off of each other. "Wait, bacon and ice cream, if you don't watch out, I'll just move in here." Kitty is a bit slower at eating her sandwich, though Lockheed curls up in her lap and looks longingly at the sandwich, quick to catch any bacon crumbs that fall toward him. However, it doesn't take her long to finish the BLT. Sated for the moment, she leans back against the chair, taking a pull from her beer.

"What I know about it, I've read in the papers," Kitty adds, nodding at what Illyana says. "That's about all I know. I mean, I haven't seen it at Xavier's. With teenagers experimenting and worrying about their powers, you'd think it'd at least show up there. But, I haven't. Then again, I guess I wouldn't be the one who would see it."

-

"What can I say? I like eating." Jericho grins. Living on the run affords precious few opportunities to have things like a stocked refrigerator so he rather relishes this. Not that you'd know it to look at him. It probably helps that he's mildly obsessive about keeping in shape. For him, it's a survival skill. Get just that half step slower, and you may catch a bullet. His expression turns a bit darker though. "I ran into someone using it as a weapon the other night. They targeted a little punky teenaged Batman fangirl who likes to stalk me when I visit Gotham." The hacker looks between Illyana and Kitty. "They only opened up though when she took off her hood and was revealed to be blonde." No points for guessing the connection there. Fortunately, Spoiler isn't a mutant, so the smooth injection did absolutely nothing to her.

-

Illyana grins at Kitty as she suggests moving in. "You'd have to talk Jericho out of his office space, because I'm not rooming with you anymore, Pryde." She might be talked in to moving into Jericho's room but she figures Kitty's joking. "Speaking of, where are you staying these days, anyway?"

That Jericho has a stalker, even if it sems like a friendly sort, gets a frowning squint. "What do they want?" The frown gets deeper as he continues. "You figure that word got back to them." Easy for Jericho to guess who 'them' is. Illyana has showed up around Jericho often enough for them to tag her and once she went public, she's not too hard to find for those with the resources Hydra groups tend to have.

-

Kitty is, indeed, joking. She's not about to intrude - despite it being pretty tempting to bunk with her old roommate again. "I could just curl up on the desk chair," she grins at Illyana, going back to the old cat comparisons. "And, come on, rooming with me wasn't that bad. I was the one that had to put up with your snoring." As for where she's staying now, she adds simply, "Xavier's. I'm teaching there for now."

Then, she takes another sip of her beer, leaning a bit to one side in the chair. Eyes drift between Illyana and Jericho, but her expression doesn't change much other than a frown - not because of her deductions, but due to the subject matter. "A weapon?" she repeats. "And an attack on a blonde?" It's not hard to put two and two together, no.

-

Jericho can't help but chuckle a bit at the banter despite the relative seriousness of last night's attack. He could probably extend that kind of trust to what seems to be Illyana's closest friend. But he also figures that either Kitty or Illyana will straight up ask if him they're serious. Or, you know, just disk all Kitty's stuff in. Since Illyana does view what's his as hers. Not that this is a problem especially as it applies to the apartment. He told her to do as much. Multiple times.

"I'm not sure. I may have been a little too put out last night to ask them." The few survivors of the firefight were wisked away to the police courtesy of Spoiler and Columbia. But there weren't many. Jericho saw to that. He tends to respond to being ambushed with lethal force to begin with and once he had divined the reason for the attack, or rather, the reason Spoiler had been targetted and not him, well that put him pretty much past talking.

"If their intel was bad enough to mistake Spoiler for you, Illyana, I doubt they've made you that well. Enough to know you're a mutant, apparently, but goodness. Blonde hair is about the only characteristic you two share. And I suppose if you didn't really know what your costume looked like…" Illyana doesn't do the whole purple thing the way Spoiler does. "I get the feeling 'you' were a target of opportunity. Maybe a way to twist the knife on me. Get some leverage or… mmm… force me to slow down and have to take care of someone going through grade A delirum tremors. I'm not sure it's occured to anyone that with magic there's a fairly good chance you could just…" He trails off. He's not sure what exactly Illyana could do about it, but her magic does seem pretty versatile.

-

"Likely." Illyana agrees on the 'target of opportunity' bit. "You don't really hang out with a lot of blonde women that I recall." Partisan, Nancy and May are the other women most often around him. "My guess would be more to neutralize an escape." Hard to catch a teleporter. "Bonuses would be me not being able to attack as effectively and a lack of sudden reinforcements." Like Illyana's own spin on the song, 'It's Raining Demons'. The bit about her magic? She shrugs. "I might be able to purge it with some Healing, but it'd leave me wiped."

As to Kitty curling up on the desk char? Illyana pshaws. "I have a perfectly good couch, Pryde. If I wake up and you're sleeping on my face though, we are not longer friends." Living at Xavier's? Illyana grimaces a bit. While she'll defend the school with her life, she's not fond of the ivory tower approach to living. "Teaching huh? What?"

-

The more they talk of Illyana being a part of an attack of opportunity and in danger, the frown turns more worrying. "So, they're not after you or anything?" She looks to Jericho to get some sort of reassurance of that. Not that them attacking her at all is something she's not exactly liking the idea of. There's a difference between being a part of the Red Team and being a hero and another of being sniped at unawares. "There's got to be a way to stop this."

The seriousness of the conversation is interjected with the kidding. That's just the way of the two of them - it's hard to keep it entirely serious. "Oh come on, you said you liked it when I fell asleep on you that one time." She grins, completely aware of how that sounds. "I'm teaching Computer Sciences," her forte, "and I'm looking for another place. 'Berto offered an apartment to those on Red Team. I'm just…not sure I want to go public yet."

-

Jericho shoots Illyana a glance and a small half shrug. If she wants to offer Kitty a place to crash that's fine with him, so long as Kitty's willing to accept the risks. He really does trust the Queen of Limbo's judgement and more than that, he's not going to prevent her from helping a friend if she thinks it warranted. On the other hand, Kitty's proven capable in the past and people look for new places to live all the time, so it's not like he gets the sense that she won't have a place to stay. Kitty just doesn't know where that'll be yet.

"I'd have to dig more to find out." He nods in regards to the other hacker's question. "Which, rest assured, I will. There are ways to prevent it sure. Disassoiating from me is the easiest, but Illyana's more than capable so that one's up to her. Beyond that I've found that making sure people who attack me or mine wind up dead has a wonderful deterrant effect." Ish. It doesn't stop people from trying but ever since he's started fighing back the number of people who think he might be easy money has gone waaaaaaaaaay down. "If I had to guess, Kitty, they're not after Illyana per se but I can't be completely sure. No shortage of nutjobs in groups like the Friends of Humanity that might try something like this. The number of them who might be that well trained and equipped… is another question."

-

"You actually want a place, you know I'll make room. And you don't wanna live at Red HQ. That's worse than living at Xavier's. No escape from your job!" Illyana jokes. "Financing it the issue?" Because that was an issue for a long time for Illyana and why she didn't actually have anywhere to 'live'.

People looking to target her? Illyana shakes her head. "I don't think so. There's better opportunities. Like casing Columbia, or hell, hacking my class schedule. Jericho's the one that has folks after his ass all the time."

-

At the mention of the Friends of Humanity, Kitty just wrinkles her nose. Lockheed has started to snooze in her lap, full of pieces of bacon. He grumps a little when she pulls her feet up to tuck underneath her on the chair. "Well, now I can see why you and Logan get along," she says with a bit of a smirk. "Similar world philosophies." Especially when it comes to protection. "'Course, he wouldn't know which end of a computer to hold up. But, if you want any help with that digging, just let me know."

As for a place to stay, Kitty waves her hand dismissively. "I'll figure something out. I'm not going to cramp you when I have a perfectly fine room at Xavier's for now. But, yeah, I don't quite have the money to move out on my own just yet." She pauses and adds, "I know this is totally old news and you don't need the warning, but just be careful. I feel like I'm not doing my friend duty if I don't say it at least once."

-

Jericho chuckles. He doesn't say such things to Illyana often but then, she doesn't usually act recklessly.

"So what have you been up to other than teaching Kitty?" Adventuring with Logan perhaps? He's given thought to maybe bringing up the possibility of grabbing the grumpy Canuck and Kitty and doing some house cleaning in Limbo. The four of them would be a force to be reckoned with and Logan's the only one among them that Illyana doesn't know quite well. And given Kitty's association with him, he's willing to bet that could be overlooked.

-

Illyana smirks and nods. "Duly noted." She assures Kitty. "I'm rather fond of my hide, so I'll work to keep it intact."

A nod is given about the whole finances thing. Living in NYC is expensive. "And you wouldn't be putting me out or cramping me. I've already got a whole damned castle to keep my stuff in. You'd be welcome to live there if getting in and out wasn't such an issue for you people." She rolls her eyes, smirking like 'eeesh. L2tport already!'

The blonde looks over to Jericho. "How's your hardware doing these days anyhow? Doug's the software guy but Kitty's the hardware genius." And she knows the difference because she roomedwith her!

-

And while Kitty knows the warning and fret are unnecessary, she can't help herself. Illyana is one of her closest friends and there is already so much turmoil that she can't stand the idea of losing her. "I'm not saying you won't," she tells Illyana seriously. "Just doing my due diligence."

As for what she's been doing lately, Kitty shrugs. "There was that nice trip to Greenland, then getting the teaching gig, putting together a lesson plan. Not much else, to be honest." Her own free time lately has been far less exciting or dangerous than theirs. Though, of course, she would be happy to bring along the grumpy Canadian to help out in Limbo. With a smirk, she shakes her head. "I appreciate that, but the commute from your castle to work is just a killer." Because while she can phase through many things, dimensions is not one of them. "And I wouldn't say I'm a hardware genius, but I know some things."

-

"You cracked a One Time Pad encryption and got us the location to that base." Jericho says with a quirked eyebrow. "I'd say you know more than just a bit."

He glances down at his traces with a thoughtful look. "Doing well enough, I suppose. Still eating magic. Still speaking demonic. At least I can read a bit more of it now." The magic used on him in his last fight in Limbo has his records a bit scrambled, but Jericho hasn't even thought to look so he hasn't noticed it yet.

"I got a look at the old DARPA design documents the last time I was at the Tri. They're… er… let's just say they're not behaving as they should. I couldn't tell you if that's good, bad or indifferent…"

Kitty gets a speculative look, which slides over to Illyana and then back. "You're pretty good with a sword, right Kitty?"

-

"Yeah, yeah. No one wants to enjoy my hospitality." Illyana jokes while sipping at her vodka. "Kitty's also seen a lot of odd stuff, and non-standard tech, so…" Illyana shrugs. "Of course, I suppose getting to it might be a bit of an issue." She frowns as she eyes Jericho's arm and then reaches out just so she can brush her fingertips against his forearm and kindle the reddish glow from them.

The question of a sword has Illyana quirking a brow at Jericho.

-

"Well, I wouldn't have been able to if they didn't get lazy and reused some of their code." Kitty shrugs, chalking that up to their own laziness than her ability. Of course, she's not saying she had nothing to do with it.

"Uh, anything acting improperly at SHIELD headquarters I'm going to take as at least something to follow up on. Don't they have people there to look into that sort of thing?" Especially since they've already been having dust ups with HYDRA and everything else that is wrong with the world. Then, however, the last question takes her unawares. "Yes," she replies immediately, not thinking to qualify her abilities. "I mean, I've been trained extensively in them." She's not sure where the question came from.

She wrinkles her nose at Illyana "I'll gladly enjoy your hospitality, just that I don't exactly want to have to rely on your for rush hour all the time." She grins. "One night we'll all have a sleep over there and braid our hair and tell ghost stories. It'll be fantastic."

-

The notion of Kitty and Illyana - both, let's be clear, grown women - having a sleepover makes Jericho snicker. Oh yeah. That'd be priceless. He might be confined to his room for the duration under threat of demon, but it'd still be priceless. "Well, the thing acting improperly is this…" He flicks his own traces even as Illyana brushes them and they light up, which draws a grin from him. "And apparently it's been doing so for a while. There's a lot in the design documents I can't parse because software and networks is my bag more than hardware. But experimental definitely means experimental."

He shrugs a bit at Illyana's look. "I was thinking perhaps some close friends to do some house cleaning in Limbo, if you needed it. There's still that homunculous running around out there, after all, and maybe a few other things." And Jeri'd love to have a chat with S'ym but that's more a watch and see thing than a deal with it now thing.

-

Illyana chuckles at Jericho, "Start bringing in my very own Queen's Guard of non-demons? I could make you all wear White Cloaks." Illyana jokes. She's not usually as big on TV as she is on movies, but soem stuff does make it through.

"Well Documents Kitty should be able to look at without us having to get her access to the stuff." Which is y'know, subdermal and all.

-

"Well! That's something I'd be glad to take a look at," Kitty shifts a bit in her seat, taking another drink of her beer and putting a resting hand on the snoozing dragon in her lap. "I always like a new challenge." She studies the reddish glow and nods. "I've definitely looked at a lot of strange and unusual tech, so I may be able to help out. But, I'll have to take a closer look."

At the idea of cleaning things up in Limbo, she nods. "Sure, I'm always glad to help if you need it. And I would look killer in a White Cloak. Though, I'm not all about the celibacy part of the guards." She grins. "I'm sure Logan would be glad to come along and stab things in a different dimension. I'm sure he's attempting to collect that sort of thing."

-

"I'll make him a nice placard…" Jericho murmurs as his free arm lights up and projects a holographic display with the relevant documents for Kitty to look at. Of note, the power source. Jericho's cybernetics output a lot of power. They have to in order to project fields that can stop antitank ordinance and stand up to superhumans chucking him around. The traces run on 'Bio-Etheric Energy' on which there is a lot of technical writing, much of it obscure. Apparently it was a newly discovered energy source, one which all living creatures have but some seem to have more than others. The test subjects for the program were all chosen because they seemed to have a lot.

"I could rock a white cloak I think." Jericho smirks a little, unspoken, he was under the impression Illyana liked him a bit better in black leather. But either way, he's more than willing.

-

"Well. I am a demon queen. I might need to modify it a bit. Dabauchery. Black leather. That kinda stuff." Illyana doesn't even attempt to decipher all the technobabble on the documents. She doesn't expect people to try to decipher her spellbooks so it's only fair. "What to call you guys isntead though… Black corsets?" She grins at the pair, not really expecting an answer if they get into their geekstuff.

-

"How about I keep the white cloak and Jericho gets the black corset?" Kitty gives Illyana a wicked grin, but then disturbs Lockheed to lean forward in order to take a better look at the holographic display. Tentatively she points forward at a few different places - the power source the main one of these. "This is…" she frowns, looking at how everything comes together and works around. "That's…hm. Yeah, I'll have to look at them more closely, but it certainly seems like something is slightly off there." A finger traces some of the writing. "Something about living creatures. I don't like that sound of that."

-

Jericho laughs. "I think you two will look rather better in the corsets than I… though I suppose I've trusted Illyana to dress me before and it's gone pretty well." Even if the Warsaw spring is a bit chilly without a shirt.

"Queensguard though. Mmmm, that has potential." S'ym might have a fit. It'd be viewed as a challenge, he's quite sure. Which would make it important to choose the people carefully if Illyana actually did go through with it.

-

Illyana snickers at Kitty's comment. "That would end up as a long title. The White Cloak and Black Corset Brigade' or something." Kitty's well aware of the perils of Illy conjuring outfits for folks. When Kitty looks concerned, she quiets a bit, frowning. She doesn't bother to ask if Kitty will help. She just assumes it. Because that's what friends do.

-

"Says someone who has never tried on a corset," Kitty winks at Jericho, though her attention is still mostly distracted by the holographic display. "Yes, if you wouldn't mind sending me some of this, I'll take a look, see what I can see."

To Illyana, she grins. Of course she never needs to ask for her help - Kitty will always willingly give it to her friend. That's what they are there for. "I'm sure we can find a succinct name for the lot of us. I think Queen's Guard is pretty apt." Jostling Lockheed, he grumpily starts to awake from his nap. Kitty swings her feet down onto the ground and she stands. "I should probably get back. Thanks for the BLTs! They were delicious."

-

"Thanks for stopping by Kitty. I'll e-mail you the full text. It's quite a bit, I'm afraid, but I appreciate you looking at it." Her comment about the corset makes Jericho grin. No, he's never tried one, but if Kitty'd seen some of the outfits Illyana has dressed him up in…

He glances over to Illyana with a tight smile. He likes this idea, this Queensguard notion. But it's up to her. Still, if she decides to pull the trigger as it were, she has only to tell him. He's got her back.

-

Illyana stands up to give Lockheed a scritch and Kitty a quick hug. "Be safe, Pryde." She says. "And try to stay dry too." The brunette is given a wink before she looks over and smirks at Jericho. "You might have to learn to use a sword then. Daggers, even honking big ones, loose a bit of the whole effect."

-

Lockheed grumpily curls up on Kitty's shoulder as she pulls on her galoshes and picks up her damp umbrella. Of course the grumpy expression is greatly softened by Illyana's scrtiching. "Of course. I'll see you guys soon, I'm sure. Especially once I take a look at that email." She dips her head at Jericho. With a departing grin toward Illyana, she nods. "You be careful, too. And you, too, Trent. Though, if you're suddenly gone, I claim your room." It's a jest, obviously, because the worried look she gives the both of them shows that how much she cares about Illyana and therefore how much that spills over for caring about Jericho. "And if you ever want a sword lesson, let me know, I learned from the best."

-

"You want to teach me, or provide a teacher, I'll provide the blade." Jericho smiles. He's been considering learning to wield one for some time simply because his enhanced strength and alternate forms give him some pretty good advantages with the proper leverage. Like, you know, a big type fifteen.

Kitty gets a wry grin. "You do that, and I may take you up on that blade training offer. Don't be a stranger, okay?" The hacker walks over to the door with their guest and frowns at her umbrella. "Oh for the love of… that won't do. Here…" He opens the closet and hands her one of several. Spend enough time in New York and you'll get caught out in the rain eventually. Or repeatedly. He's purchased a few. "Safe travels."

Once Kitty's out he shuts the door behind her, locks it, and turns back inside.

-

"Don't tell me that swordsmithing is part of your repetoire." Illyana remarks, hooking a finger in Jericho's beltloop and dragging him over towards her. "Next you'll tell me that you learned under a Chinese master, and that's where you learned to speak the language…" Apparently she's decided to rewrite his history as High Adventure. Watch out for a Conan cameo…

-

"Of course not." Jericho snorts with a sudden grin, his eyes flashing. "He was Japanese. They make the better swords. And I laboriously learned the secrets of the craft while his daughter showed me up effortlessly every day." Lets see, are there any other stereotypes he's forgotten? In truth providing the blade is just a matter of getting good specs and then hijacking the appropriate computer controlled production devices at night. He's done it before to make guns. He can do it to make a sword.

Ancient swordsmiths are rolling over in their graves as we speak.

-

Illyana gives a huff of amusement at that. "And then at night she consoled you with her body?" She says, grinning in a terribly Cheshire manner as she pulls him up against her. It means she needs to tilt her head back to look at him, but she doesn't mind.

Jericho's eyes flash again, quite clearly he enjoys the closeness. Though at this point that probably doesn't surprise Illyana one bit. Much as she, he's touch starved. Not many people touch him and of the ones who do, most do so hostilely. There is a comfort to having someone simply willing to put a hand on your arm, much less closer or more affectionate contact. "Something like that." He murmurs, his tone also amused.

"That was before the barbarians from the west came and burned the whole place down, of course. Then I had to swear revenge and depart on my ceaseless quest for justice." If it sounds like the plot of a B-Fantasy move, Jericho is aware that it does. Possible he's doing it intentionally. Likely, even, by his grin.

-

The game slips away a bit as Illyana gives a slight frown, reaching up to trace her fingers along his cheekbone. "Your eyes glow more." She muses. Before, there was the amber in them. But now… they respond to his emotions like her own do, in a way. Easier, even.

-

That makes Jericho cant his head when Illyana reaches up, watching her hand and her own eyes at the same time as best he can. "Mmmm?" He's not actually ever been looking in anything reflective when his eyes have flashed and gleamed. If he put more stock in the saying that they were windows of the soul, he might pay more attention. As it stands… well magic is still largely a mystery to him.

"Glow?" He murmurs. "What are you seeing?"

-

"Lit. From inside. Like someone turned a light on behind them. And it's not like your traces, that go red and react to magic. It's when you're amused. Happy. Some stronger emotion." Illyana's tend to flash when she's angry unless he does it on purpose. "I don't remember them doing that before…"

-

Jericho nods slowly. "I… see… they haven't done that before to the best of my knowledge. Or at least no one's mentioned it before. Though honestly, your'e the first one in a long time who'se been around me long and close enough to notice." He's clearly thinking a bit. Some coincidences are… coincidental.

"Do you think it's related to…?" He glances down at his traces, to where they're glowing from Illyana's touch. On the whole, he doesn't mind such things. He really hasn't ever that he can recall as it applies to her, but if things are changing he has to wonder if it's all just cosmetic… or symptomatic.

-

Illyana worries about that too. That she is physically dangerous for him to be around. It's there in her eyes, an emotion that is seldom seen in that cold, empty gaze. "If you haven't noticed it, then at least it's not likely hurting you… in any way that we can see." Which, sadly, leaves a hell of a lot of stuff still open.

Illyana walks backwards, pulling Jericho along with her towards his bathroom. "C'mon."
