The Joker is limping a bit, but positively cackling when he comes into the Funhouse. He's rubbing his hands together, having already seen the trending internet topics. "Harley? Or Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarley?" He singsongs as he practically capers (as best he can) about the lair.

-

Harley had a bit of a break down. One of the newer henchmen didn't know about Harley and mirrors and so when she saw her reflection in the glass, without her makeup on, she went a little crazy for the next couple of days. Curled up in a corner, rocking back and forth, repeating the names of all the people she's killed or helped in killing, calling herself all sorts of names. It wasn't pretty.

She hears the Joker call and luckily her love for him knows no borders. Harley or Harleen, he is her man. So when he calls her, she comes out of her hiding spot, the blonde looking disheveled and disoriented, to join him. "Yes, Joker?" she asks, not even herself enough to call him Mr. J.

-

The Joker is fiddling with a smart phone (that probably doesn't belong to him). He looks up and actually… frowns a little. "Harley. You don't look quite yourself." It's almost concern. Close as he gets. The Clown Prince folds his arms and looks Harleen up and down as if remembering and deciding what to do.

-

Looking at the Joker, Harleen sighs softly. It's not the utter devotion and adoration she usually has, but something deeper. She's even wearing her glasses! "I'm … I'll be okay, Joker. Thank you. I just… I'm dealing with a crisis of self. I just need some time to deal with my personal traumas. How can I help you?" Even her thick accent is subdued, like when he first met her in Arkham or when she's pretending to be a 'regular' girl.

-

The Joker rubs his chin a bit and his demeanor changes. It's actually almost frightening the way it does. Harleen he dealt with rather… expertly back when she was seeing him in Arkham. And it's like someone flipped a switch to call some of that Joker back.

"Harleen…" Nothing the Joker does could ever be called gentle. He's sneaky and manipulative and knows how to have a light touch, but gentle? Surely not.

"It's been a while since one of our sessions. Only now I wonder which of us is the doctor and which is the patient."

-

Harleen smiles a little then at Joker. "Every good doctor learns things about themselves through their patients. Just as we are helping you, you are in fact helping us as well. It's a very mutual relationship. Come sit with me and tell me what you wanted to talk about. I want to hear your thoughts and feelings, about what's been going on in that remarkable mind of yours."

She pushes her glasses up her nose with a finger, her compartmentalized personality dealing with the fracture as best as it can.

-

The Joker sits down at the table and slides over the smart phone. He's been watching trending twitter topics. The hot one right now is a thousand variations on 'ZOMG ROBIN IS DATING HARLEY!'. There's a pic from last week that went viral and now it's allllllll over the news. "Oh I was just being amused at how some people handle the press…" Could he have had anything to do with that? Ordinarily the Joker isn't that roundabout. His gags are more along the lines of bombs and bullets.

Then again, he loves a good punchline.

-

Harleen picks up the phone and looks at the headline. She blinks a bit, taking off her glasses and getting a better look. "Dating… Robin? But he's just a kid! And he's so… so… Well, he's a little on the clean cut side. There isn't a single shred of deviltry about him. Where is the fun in that? I mean, certainly he has his issues with a dependance on authority figures as well as a dire need for approval of same, but that sort of issue really isn't all that appealing to a girl."

She looks again at the picture and shakes her head. "I'd remember if I went on a date with him. Wouldn't I?" She sounds confused, going over the last week since her breakdown.

-

"Oh it wasn't you. You'd think people would see that, but I guess they'll believe anything these days." Joker cackles a bit. He can, when it suits him, seem almost lucid. And he's used that propensity of people to believe almost anything to his advantage before. Sometimes to make people henchmen, sometimes just to scare them. "I almost brought her home to show you. I think you have a fangirl or something." He sighs. "Buuuuuut Toy Wonder wasn't the only one there. May got in the way. It was… entertaining, but I had to leave her behind."

-

There is a spark as Harleen stares at the picture. Someone is honing in on her image. And using it to impunge her name! Dating the birdbrain? Of all the insulting notions. "Did ya find out her name?" she asks, that New Jersey twang that she tries so hard to hide coming out.

-

"I did, actually. Her name is Darcy Lewis. She was in town for the Derby…" Skater girl, it seems, which explains a lot about her. How Joker found that out he doesn't say but as Harleen becomes a bit agitated the Clown Prince smiles. The picture seems to be juuuuuust the thing. "So, how does that make you feel?"

-

Harleen is now glaring at the picture angrily. "I know that they say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but that don't mean I have ta like her just dressin' up like me! And ruinin' my good name!" She stands up and starts to pace. "It's bad enough that that Red Hood fella was tryin' ta steal me away from ya! Now the media is in on it and everyone is gonna think I'm not faithful to my Puddin! That I'm some sorta two bit floosy that bats her eyes at any guy she finds. Which I do! But they don't need to advertise that fact!" She storms off into the bedroom.

In the bedroom, she grabs a brush, running it through her blonde hair. With hands that are well practiced to not need a mirror, she puts her hair into ponytails. She sits down and starts putting on her makeup. How she manages this without a mirror is only through years of experience. "I'm gonna find her and break her legs. Though, that derby thing sounds fun."

-

Joker is grinning ear to ear now. "You know, if it's possible also that the bird-brain has a thing or Bad Clown Girls. He certainly seemed… very protective." And paying Darcy a visit will probably piss May off which is even better.

-

Only once Harley, for she is indeed Harley again as the Harleen personaity is pushed again into the back and leaving the more dominant personality in control, has her face whitened and her lipstick on does she bring out the mirror from its drawer to do the rest of her makeup. "If that little twerp has a thing for girl clowns, he's gonna learn real quick not to get them to hone in on my image. There is only one Harley Quinn. Except at Hallow'een. I kinda like it when the little kiddies dress up as us."

-

The Joker grins as he leans in the door frame, arms crossed watching Harley put on her face. "Mmmmm. Done with the session are we?" He's not particularly talking to anyone. Harleen, Harley, both stay with him. He prefers his accomplice and partner in crime but Harleen's… interesting. It's what drew him to twist her about in the first place. "Maybe we should bring him in, mmmm?"

-

Harley starts to smile, a gleam in her eyes of a plan. "If he likes clowns so much, maybe he'd like to be one. And if he doesn't want to be on voluntarily… wouldn't that put a bee in the Bat's bonnet?" Once her face is on, she tosses off her pj's to find something more appropriate for creating a little havoc. Seems that mention of the roller derby has inspired her outfit as she puts on knee and elbow pads, short shorts, knee socks and a t-shirt that bares her midriff.

-

"Oh and all his little friends too." The Joker grins sharply as Harley gets that 'I have a plan' look in her eye. "He has a little team you know. 'Titans'. Maybe we need to do some… aggressive recruiting…"

-

"Titans, huh? In that little tower in New York? Maybe we should send them a present. They only just moved in a little while ago. Maybe a housewarming gift, something that brings a little laughter into their dull lives." When she's finished dressing, she goes to Joker to kiss him, back to her old self. Leave it to her Mr. J to bring out her old self. "Miss me, puddin?"

-

The Joker kisses Harley back with a manic chuckle and squeezes her about the waist. "Always do Harley. Now, what do you say to some mayhem?" He's already got a dozen ideas spinning in his head and all of them gloriously messy.

-

Harley practically swoons in Joker's arms when he offers her a bit of mayhem. "I haven't blown somethin' up in days! And the babies need to go out for a walk anyway." She links her arm with his, resting her head on his shoulder. "Shall we?"

-

"Lets." The Joker stretches and turns after giving Harley one more kiss. "We're gonna paint the town RED!"
