Lucky Oracle

Summary:
October 18, 2014: Jason Lucky briefs Oracle on Starke Industries etiquette

Stark Industries - New York

Rising high into the skyline with the name of it's Lord and Master for all to see, the Stark Industries Tower is the most visible component of the Stark Industries complex centered in Midtown Manhattan. Manufacturing, office space, power generation and even some inventory is housed in the tower and its associated subelevels. It also contains guest housing and, at the top, the penthouse suite that is the domain of the Main Man himself, at least, when he's not at his Malibu home.

A quiet day at Stark Tower is like a unicorn, it just doesn't happen. Today's no different with the lobby all but completely full as per usual, with most of them waiting for meetings with stark that are going to likely wind up defused off to just about anyone else in the tower. The surprisingly quiet chaos of it all is almost peaceful as people are directed around, and checked in, the security guard at the front desk looking a bit swamped as Jason sneaks in through the employee entrance.

After her meeting with Pepper Potts in Central Park, Oracle (or rather Babs) has sent a list of the equipment and tools she will need to help Jim Reha, to Pepper via email.

Babs has some misgivings about entering Stark Industries and providing this level of assistance, it is cutting very close to the Oracle skillset and, so far, the connection between herself and Oracle is an extremely well protected secret. But it wasn't just the secret she's concerned about - there's the physical protection aspects as well. Once inside Stark Industry Babs will be on her own and if things goes south, she'll have no backup. Fenris Wolf had offered his services in that regard, for the times she was there, but Babs doesn't know how long this will take. Her physical security whilst on this assignment is now her biggest concern.

So, when she receives a message from Jason Lucky, who appears to be Peppers personal security man, asking to discuss security protocols, Babs accepts the meeting. The meeting will be held over video conference.

Babs is in the Clocktower, with a Starkpad, sitting in her kitchenette. A cup of coffee on the table beside her. When seen from the other end, it will appear that Babs is in a normal office / home and not in the High tech, High security building she is really in. Babs is now waiting for Jason to place the call so he can brief her on Stark Industries procedures.

If there's one thing that Jason's learned how to do over his time as a Stark employee it's how to get around Stark Tower, if there's one thing he's learned in his time alive it's how to get around silently in a building. A few corners turned hidden doors opened and closed and he's found his own way to a secure room of the building. It's not a big room, but it's got a secure line he can use that isn't already being used by pepper.

"Send it through" Jason calls out to no one in particular, a screen lighting up on the wall. He's got on one of his nicer shirts, and freshly pressed pants, his whole getup picked to portray confidence. Lucky for him the one thing this room does have makes it look like he's just standing in a somewhat ornate looking office room like any other while Jarvis thankfully takes care of setting the secure line up properly.

***

As the screen on her Starkpad flashes up an 'incoming call' dialogue box, Babs taps the screen and waits for the video feed to connect. "Good morning, Mr Lucky. Thank you for setting up this briefing, it is appreciated." She smiles into the Starkpad, as Jasons image appears.

***

"Hello" Jason starts with that gruff voice of his trying to look as friendly as he can, and yet there's just something that makes it not quite work right for him. He sits down a small file onto the desk in front of him that looks through the video to be a rather nice mahogany.

"No problem," He adds, looking over towards the screen, a good deal of effort going into hiding the fact that he just finds all of this tech amazing, a real dream come true. "First thing, I know you" He's trying to find the right wording but it's not the easiest thing to keep his mind on the right track, and his mouth running "I know you're worried about security"

***

A small smile tugs at one side of Babs mouth. "Do go on. Why would I be concerned about security? And please Mr Lucky, do relax and pretend we're sitting in a bar having a beer hmmmmm"

***

"Who wouldn't be?" Jason places his hand down onto the folder and opens it up just to look down at the file itself. His expression goes back to a small smirk that he seems a bit more comfortable with judging by how it more matches his face. He silently looks over the first page for a while, before looking back to the monitor. "Dangerous times"

***

Nodding Babs relents "Fair call. Yes, I'm worried. I will be entering Stark Industries with none of my normal tools and I will be relying entirely on your physical security. As you can imagine, for a woman in my situation, it is a little concerning." Playing the disabled woman again, Babs continues "So, please begin your briefing. If I have questions, I will ask them at the end."

***

Jason flips from one page to the next of his little folder, looking over a few things, the picture of Barbara visible making it a bit more obvious that it's not exactly just the security briefing he's reading. He's still doing his best to keep this professional, seemingly a bit more focused on the physical then the electronic. You can't hack a piece of paper.

It takes a while to get going but he just launches off into a full and rather professional briefing which while not rehearsed in the slightest could easily be confused for something that took weeks to prepare. He goes over basic plans and security procedures making clear that even more is in place that can't exactly be discussed without breaking other procedures in place. By the sounds there's more security in place in this one building then in some nations almost to the obsessive level.

***

Babs listens to Jasons briefing and takes it all in. There is nothing overly surprising in anything he's revealed, just a lot of it and this makes Babs feel slightly better about entering the facilities. "Thank you, Mr Lucky. You've allayed many of my concerns. So, tin tacks then, what do we need to have in place for me to be able to just walk through the door when I get there? I'm assuming you've already kicked off the necessary background checks on me." and she supresses a small, knowing, smile "Things like passes, access codes, Stark Industry escorts. I am also assuming I won't be given independant access to the building and someone from SI will be with me at all times."

***

Placing his hands back behind himself after folding shut the last page of the folder, Jason nods his head. "Correct," That small smirk coming back to his face, while he tries to keep up appearances. This is perhaps the most talking he's really done in a while, but it's hard to tell. "We can handle all that in person" He's still not very trusting but he's here for security so it's more or less to be expected.

***

"As you can imagine, Mr Lucky, getting to and from New York is not an easy thing. I don't always have access to Mr Wolfson's unique mode of travel. I'm happy to come in there, in person, to make the necessary arrangements but I would prefer to get as much done in one visit as possible. Are you able to do the necessary planning and arrange a time for me to come in?" Babs is all business, and this is business.

***

"Of course, Miss Gordan" Jason says with a rather calm and collected voice. "I'll arrange a pickup" He pulls out a small phone from his pocket, placing it down onto the table, his statement more said as a question then anything else.

"Not immediately, Mr Lucky! If you can make the necessary arrangements, I will get myself there. I just want to get as much arranged in one visit. I'm sorry if I implied anything more." Babs face displays the shock she's feeling.

***

Jason places the phone back into his pocket, sliding the folder back under his arm. A small almost mischievous smirk on his face at her reaction, he's only seen a reaction like that a few times, and each time it's been almost priceless. "Now you've gone and hurt my feelings," He just can't help, but make that little quip, before starting to turn around to look out the windows of his office.

"Mr Lucky, whilst the medium of video allows for much of the interpersonal communication queues to be sent, it is not flawless. However, I would hazard a guess, that at this point in time you may be just teasing me. However, if I have indeed hurt your feelings, you have my sincerest apologies." And if Jason was to look at the screen, he will Babs eyes sparkling with mischief of her own.

***

"To the core," Jason says rather over dramatically placing both hands over his heart. "Though accept your apology" He's already got his phone back up, just pushing a single button, "For that, and" there's a small pause before his phone is held up into the air "Thinking I hadn't already set it up," the smirk coming back to his face to replace his fake frown.

***

Babs shakes her head and sighs. "Thank you Mr Lucky. Please let me know when it is convenient to come in, you have my email address, and I will. Please excuse me though, I have another meeting to take."
