Once upon a time, this series of buildings was responsible for distributing wares to every K-mart store in the north east. These days, well it's a series of enormous buildings in the middle of New York state surrounded by stout fences and a lot of woods. The main building alone might as well have it's very own zipcode, it's incredible. Yet all thats necessary to get past the -four- barbed wire fences, is a key code. This, is where Jericho and The Partisan apparently do their thing. Tony visited here once, back when he was like about to die and shit and it was totally rad. Anyway…

Part's sent the invitation a few days prior, but well now Pep is actually going to drop by. So theres been a bit of a rush to clean the place, because fuck you she's not going to be impolite even if this is like an enormous clandestine facility. She sweeps empty shell casings away, dusts along the work tables and the little lounge, shit she even gets the vaccum out. It's a bit of a lost cause, but hey it's the thought that counts right? Amongst an endless sea of heavy industrial racking filled with arms, equipment, munitions, military surplus, a veritable fleet of older BMWs in various states of repair. A few big transport planes, helicopters, and even a semi truck. The majority of her effort is centered in what passes for a lounge however. Neat dining room table, an almost kitchen, Sofas that'd look right at home in a dorm room, big screen TV and even a old propaganda posters in all manner of languages. All thats required now, is Miss Potts really.

-

Pepper Potts arrives at the precise time she said she would. She's good that way. And, per Partisan's request, she drove herself here in a positively low-key vehicle from Tony's garage — a sporty two-door Audi convertible in soft silver. Getting out of the car next to the gargantuan building, she smooths her skirt and shoulders her bag, then steps over to knock on the pre-arranged door. In her other hand is a gift for her guest, seemingly simple, but she's kind of picked up Tony's aesthetic taste in liquors. Even if she doesn't drink them herself.

-

Partisan answers with a smile, and a cigarette dangling from the corner of her mouth. "Oh how good of you to drop by, please do come in. I've just got the coffee on, you'll have to forgive the somewhat spartan arrangements." Skate shoes, pencil skirt and a "I <3 CHEMICAL WEAPONS" T-shirt. Yep, Partisan of course. Nevermind the .45 holstered in the small of her back, which she isn't even trying to hide. "I've been meaning to sit down with you, and talk a little business."

-

Pepper Potts smiles and steps inside, though does so in a manner that hopefully keeps her from having to step THROUGH the cigarette smoke. "Thank you for inviting me. And don't worry about the decor, I'm really not all that fussy, honest." Tony is. "Oh, and I brought a little something," Pepper offers, holding up the simple, brown paper wine-carrier bag by its handles. "I hope that's all right."

-

Partisan smiles all the more broadly, before accepting the gift and tucking it in the crook of her arm. "Oh how very good of you, thank you again. Have you eaten, I have some things I could warm up if you're at all feeling peckish?"Leading back towards the kitchen table, before tugging out a chair for Pepper. "I know we spoke about it a little bit before, but I felt as though we should have a proper discussion about the Chain Cutter's Union and how you might be able to contribute. Well and catch up with each other, I feel like it's been ages."

-

Pepper Potts follows Partisan and accepts the offered chair. "Thank you, but I'm fine for the moment." She sets her bag on the floor next to her foot as she settles comfortably. "I am happy to listen, though I do want to let you know beforehand that I can't really in good conscience contribute to any action that puts innocents at risk." With one leg crossed over the other and her hands folded in her lap, she smiles at Partisan. "It does feel like ages. So. Tell me more about your Chain Cutter's Union."

-

Partisan snuffs out that cigarette, before pulling up a chair next to Pepper. "It's me and Jerry right now, but we've got some free time finally so we're looking around. We're a state sponsored Direct action initiative, specializing in electronic warfare and asymetric direct action warfare. In other words, we're legal but not publically recognized for obvious reasons. We focus on military, paramilitary, corporate and state actors and we use a mixture of hacking and gunplay to bring them down. Our focus for action is the preservation of liberty, so people held illegally against their will. Human test subjects, sex trade human trafficking, ransom hostages, biological weaponeers and so fourth."Pausing to ease back into her chair, comfortably folding her hands in her lap. "We don't fight crime, we don't play in the shallow end of the pool and we don't go off reservation. We've had six CCU actions so far, none of which has resulted in the injury or death of a legitimate non-combatant or otherwise uninvolved party.
We've freed directly about two hundred fifty people, and derailed a biological weapons program run by Hydra. Like what you're hearing so far?"

-

Pepper Potts raises her eyebrows briefly at that. "I am, yes. I do remember hearing about the virus, though I didn't really get much chance to help out with it. And two hundred fifty people is a pretty healthy start, I do have to admit. How can I help, besides monetarily, I mean?" She pauses here, though the smile that creeps over her features make it clear she's trying for a bit of levity. "Because that's already a given."

-

Partisan waves a hand "Why thankyou, the biggest help however would be you Miss Potts. More useful than the money by far. See, me and Jericho? We're soldiers, we see things a certain way. We lack a different perspective, and the sort've social altitude to get a different sort've circle of intelligence. You can, from your position. See things other companies are doing far better than we can, and you understand how these entities work."Smiling just a touch in return finally. "We need somone, who isn't a soldier and doesn't live on take out and ramen because it's all they can afford. We need perspective, and you are uniquely suited to provide us with that."

-

Pepper Potts ahhs and nods, smiling more readily at that. "I think I can help there. Though you can't stop me from living on takeout if I choose to." Of course, her idea of takeout might be just a bit different. "So, yes. Count me in. Though do keep in mind that my normal work hours are … well, some might call them barbaric. Challenging, to be sure."

-

Partisan just nods "Well that's certainly no problem, we're hardly a nine to five sort've operation. All members get equal vote, any member can reccomend somone and any member can bring a potential task before the CCU."Reaching across the table to offer a hand. "Welcome to the Chain Cutters Union. Remember if anyone tries to screw with you, just let us know. Now, would you like to look at the books?"

-

Pepper Potts leans forward to shake Partisan's hand. "The books? As in ledgers? Wow, I haven't looked an actual ledger in years. Sure. Bring them on." Did she happen to mention either Partisan or Jericho that she started with Stark Industries in the Accounting Department? Possibly. But even if she didn't, this is something she can do.

-

Partisan rises with a smirk "Well I've been runing covert armies since the second world war, paperwork is important and easily destroyed."Motioning towards the bright yellow barrel which is currently serving as a trashcan. "Anyway, you want to help financially thats good. We have a harder time with equipment than cashflow."Out come the binders, and well the records are indeed -quite- tidy. Three hundred million spread across nearly three hundred seperate international banks. Income streams from every action they've taken, expenses noted in detail. "We aren't thieves, but we do salvage what we come across. Financial warfare is also a valid tactic as far as we're concerned, and we've ripped no small amount of money from our foes to deny them logistical flexibility."Incidentally, it seems the Partisan and Jericho aren't paid. "We lack access to first hand markets, which is a major problem. We're running on a mixture of scavenged equipment, and surplus stuff purchased from the black market. This denies us access to high ticket items, long range transport aircraft, modern smallarms, encrypted radios, explosives, less than lethal munitions, night vision and so fourth. I've got enough arms stockpiled, from tanks to combat aircraft to equip an army. Problem is none of it is very new, and if I want to liquidate that stock I'm now flooding the market and driving costs down far enough so that people we don't want buying that shit can now get their hands on it. See the problem?"

-

Pepper Potts nods slowly as she looks over the extremely tidy ledger. "That makes sense. However," she lifts her head from perusing the ledger to look at Partisan squarely. "Like Mr. Stark, I refuse to deal in weapons. I will help however I can with transport and protective technology, but the weapons are an absolute no-go in my book. Will that be all right?"

-

"Absolutely, I'm not about to question for own moral obligations. Long distance heavy lift air assets, night vision, radios and body armor are our main priority. You can feel free to tag along with me next time I visit the Ivory Coast to go arms shopping all the same if your curious, I've been holding off because well. Ebola does tend to spoil the market somewhat."Part eases back comfortably, knitting her hands behind her head. "and no, if your curious. Ebola was not an engineered strain, I was actually in country when the first case was discovered in the Congo. The Russians did weaponize a strain though, but this is much later. Ebola and Marburg both, and the status of both heavily weaponized strains is unknown at this time. Vector, went sideways when the wall fell."

-

Pepper Potts nods. "Those items should all be easy enough. Though… I think I'll pass on the visit to the Ivory Coast. Ebola or not, I sunburn way too easily." Not to mention the last time she was there, she got the very unnerving feeling that she was being stared at for far less than innocent reasons.
