Being a Sargeant in the Russian army has it's perks, being VDV too. Being the VDV armorer, and a woman? Well you can game the system pretty easily, presuming your patient enough. Normally this meant spending long hours alone in the armory, which is easy enough for our favorite Partisan. Not like fixing AKs is anything new to her, but it does have a side benefit. Armories the world over are filled not with just weapons and ammunition, no they're stuffed full of -anything- sensitive. Out on a black project base, that includes cellphones. Bugging those is of limited utility, and with the main frame running on an enclosed system? Hacking attempts, are more than a little difficult. They require somone on sight, which well obviously she is.
"Can you hear me?"As she plugs that button mic into the neat little transciever, the idea here was to give an inside look to her compatriots for later dissection. "Sorry I've been so quiet, took awhile to get plugged in down here."as she seats that earbud so it won't be visible on a casual inspection. "I'm about to plug you into the mainframe here, are you someplace where you're ready to exploit?"Gently fishing that beat up iphone two from a neat little bin marked "LT.POLZIN".

-

"Tucked away with a sat link about twenty miles off site." Jericho replies. Sam had pulled a miracle out of his kit and managed to fashion an antivenom that had him feeling right as rain in short order. One of the odd things about Partisan changing bodies is that the timbre of her voice shifts. While the tone and diction are undeniably Partisan (and really, if you've heard it once there's no mistaking it) the subtle qualities of it are different with each new host and that means that listening to her takes some getting used to after a hop when you're used to hearing a different voice in your ear.

"Any trouble down there so far?" The project is locked down tight but security only goes so far and that distance gets shorter the more people you involve.

-

"No problems so far, I thought I'd give you a tour before I plug you in."She sources a heavy field coat, before stuffing that cellphone in her pocket and snagging a particularly sharp looking PP-19-01. There is a handprint scanner to exit the armory, and a almost submarine sort of hatch flanked by a pair of guards she offers a little wave to. Then she's off, pausing to glance back as she heads down the hallway and incidentally framing a -lovely- shot of a bulletin board covered with notices on procedures. There is perhaps predictably, security -everywhere- of course so it's a journey made in silence across the base.
Through the admin building, shoulders rolling just enough to smoothly pan the frame back and fourth. Exposing those stenciled names at every office, before down the staircase at the back of the hallway and more guards. There she pauses at an armored door, the access to the server room. Theres a press of the intercom, before she leans towards the little box. "Lieutenant Polzin, It's Sargeant Bychkov. I have to discuss a matter concerning one of your subbordinates, would you please buzz me in?"

-

Jericho listens in on the other end of the comm link. Yeah it sure sounds like a classic black operation. "Sergeant what now?" He jokes. He speaks Russian nearly as well as Partisan does.

"Come in Sergeant." The reply comes over the intercom. "Lieutenant Ichikawa is waiting for you with the rest of the research team at site Alpha."

"Site Alpha? How many sites does this damn place have?" Not having the spec sheet in front of him this is the Hacker's first real glimpse into Black Valley.

-

Partisan slips inside , before offering the LT a smile. She waits for the door to shut, before finally winking. "I lied, but this is a good lie. Your wife has given birth, congratulations you're a father."Out comes that cellphone, which she offers over. "Go on, give her a call just dont get caught with it alright? You duck into the bathroom, and if you hear the buzzer come running alright?"Patience, always rewards the calm of heart or so the saying goes. "You only have your first child once, go on just tell me if it's a boy or a girl alright?"

-

Jericho laughs quietly on his end. He knew Partisan would deliver. She always does. He just didn't expect her to deliver by using delivery. "Just tell me one thing." He murmurs as he prepars to get his hack-fu going. "Is the good LT actually having a kid? Or did you stage that too?" Jericho wouldn't put it past Part to have the contacts necessary to stage an entire engagement if she had to.

-

Partisan waits for the LT to rush out of the room, before she gets to work. "Oh it's real, it presented itself. I was going to go in through the air defense network, which I have access to but this just presented itself. So I'm taking advantage, I'm not supposed to be in here alone. Only two rooms I've been too sofar that don't have cameras."Glancing back towards the door before she tugs the desk gently back, and begins her work. Using a pair of wire strippers to pop the casing off that cat five, and then she begins striping back the casing on the individual wires and clipping on the miniature jumpers. "Tell me when you've got signal, and be careful. I can't unplug anything apparently, because supposedly this sets off alarms. I'm not in a place to figure out if thats bullshit, so I figured I'd do this the oldskool way."

-

"Old school it is." There's a slight pause on Jericho's end. "Okay. I'm in. Deactivating intrusion countermeasures… done. Geeze this file system is ancient. Okay. Buy me a few minutes and I'll see what I can pull up."

Over in the next room Partisan can hear vague mumblings of a conversation taking place between a Russian and someone speaking Russian with a very thick Japanese accent.

"The aperature opened again. Wide enough to admit somethig."

"Do we know what yet?"

"No solid report but there's been more fighting. Could be more of the same…"

-

Partisan hits the bug with a ziptie, before tucking it out of sight and shoving the desk back. She cranes her neck just a tad, closing her eyes and listening. Raising a finger, no not that one, infront of the camera to premptively shush Jericho. She's still not sure what to expect at site alpha, or wherever it is she's going once she finishes with this little parlor trick.

-

Site Alpha has a full debrief crew. Lieutenant Ishikawa of JDI, a couple of sergeants from the same, Lieutenant Federanko of the FSO, Captain Moskva of the Border Guard and Sergeant Pavlova, the science Liason. "Ah. Sergeant. You're here. Good. Please have a seat. As you may have already heard we had an aperature opening today. For those of you who have not been around for one of these before, they are highly unpredictable. The base is going on full alert until further notice and cordon patrols are to be doubled. Questions?"

-

"I presume I should expedite requests made from the armory, is there any specialized equipment I should prepare for issue premptively? That -other- Sargeant will be running the Armory if I'm not there obviously, and well it would be best if I had things prepared for him."The good Sargeant bychkov, has the advantage of having a fucking idiot for a coworker most of the time. He makes for an excellent excuse really.

"Good questions Sergeant Bychkov. We should be prepared to issure NODs, penetrator ammunition and incindiaries in bulk. The last major incurision we had through the aperature was small and this opening is much, much wider. If anything comes through that's anywhere near as aggressive as ten years ago… Well… we can hope not. Sometimes nothing happens and hopefully this will all be over in a week or so. But we must be prepared for heavy action until then. Now, the science team has made a request that we take the opportunity to put some equipment through while the portal remains open. If things look stable we may even send a team, though we will be coordinating any such action with our… allies." The good Lieutenant looks over to Ishikawa.

"Of course. We are always prepared to support our Russian partners."

-

Partisan nods softly, producing a neat little notebook from her jacket pocket and scribbling. With a pencil, of course. Anything to appear the good Russian student. "Are we permitted to view any photographs of, what occured before? I understand the need for operational security, do we know if they can see in the IR spectrum for instance? I don't want to go issuing my boys IR floodlights for their night vision equipment, only to find out these things are attracted to such things."

-

Sergeant Pavlova answers that. "The creatures that come through are not consistent. Sometimes nothing comes through. Sometimes things that are nearly people and sometiems things for which we have no reference at all. The bad opening, two years ago, admitted creatures that were indetectible except by thermal vision or ultraviolet light. They were highly aggressive and very dangerous. We have not seen them since but we cannot count on that for this time, or something similar. Or… worse."

-

Partisan nods softly "I understand, thankyou sir."Yes, invisible hyper aggressive transdimensional creatures. Fucking wonderful, she should've gone in as a god damned window washer all things considered. What she wouldnt give for a set've halfway decent western thermals. Seriously, that equipment room is like stepping back in 1988.

-

"The Japanese have agreed to provide our ops team with… specialist gear." Russian way of admitting that yes some things the Mother Country doesn't make so well. "Sergeant you will be in charge of distributing it. See to it personally. I do not want your… partner, touching it."

-

Partisan nods softly "I understand sir, I'll attend to this immediately once we're done here."Tucking that notepad away and leaning back some, silently aiming that neat button camera upwards in an attempt to get all their faces on screen. "What's the official set off time sir?"

-

"Eighteen hundred tomorrow assuming things don't kick off before then." The Lieutenant sighs. "Well, you all have your assignments. Get to it. Report immediately if anything critical arises."
