Rowan has come by the Clocktower once more. He's been experimenting with surfacer clothing, or rather, clothing styles since his adaptive clothing can look like most anything. Today he's come wearing a colored tee, an open button up and slacks. He buzzes up to Babs with a smile. They catch as catch can. Both have responsibilities to attend to though Babs' are largely secret. Still tea and conversation and other things are things at Rowan enjoys with Babs company so he's come to see if she's available.

-

Rowan is kind of a sight for sore eyes for Babs. She hasn't realized how much she looks forwards to his visits until he's there. Buzzing him up, she's waiting for him in the living area… the kettle (or jug) is already on…

-

It's Rowan's tradition to try to bring a new tea over every time he visits. Today it's an unusual jasmine tea he found in a little shop at the edge of Chinatown. "Hello Babs." The Blue smiles. "I'm not interrupting am I?"

-

Babs pauses to look at Rowan before saying "Would it surprise you if I said you were, but it's a welcome interruption?" the red head smiles up at the Blue Warrior. "Let's say you're not a guest here anymore and you make the tea? That would help right at this very moment…." Babs' tablet is on her lap, facedown, but she's reaching for it with those words.

-

"Of course, Babs." The Blue smiles, going over to her kitchen, which he's now familiar with. He's gotten good at steeping loose leaf tea over the times he and Babs have met to drink it and talk. "Anything you want to talk about? Or are able to?" He understands, certainly, if she can't.

-

Rowans question causes Babs to rub her forehead "Not really, Rowan" Babs says quietly whilst finishing the task she's been working on "What brings you visiting today?" Babs focusses her attention on her guest…

-

"I was just hoping you had some time to spend. Drink some tea. I thought, if you were perhaps in the mood we might catch dinner or a, er… cinema. I'm told that surfacer entertainment houses often release new offerings around this time of year, though I don't know if anything that interests you is out."

-

"I can nearly always make time to drink tea with you, Rowan. Your company is welcome." Babs says as she puts the tablet away. "You want to go out again? That might be nice…" Babs moves to the table and rests her arms against it.

-

"If you can think of something you'd find fun, I'd love to." Rowan's made quite clear that he very much enjoys Babs company and she seems to make learning how surfacers do things so much less daunting. The Blue comes over with two cups of near perfectly steeped tea and sits down next to her.

-

Babs sighs as the tea is placed in front of her… picking up the cup she lets the aroma tickle her nose. "The movie thing is o.k" Babs says quietly "but I'm not sure either of us can sit still and be quiet that long…. " she looks a Rowan "What if it was simply spending time with you?"

-

"Of course." Rowan's pretty easy to please in that department. It's not that activities he values so much as the person he's doing them with. "Here or elsewhere?"

-

Babs smiles faintly at the question "Anywhere you are, really… the enjoyment comes because of the person I'm with." Babs takes her time "I've enjoyed watching movies with her, dinner, a bonfire on the beach, flying over Gotham, swimming with the dolphins… a lot because of the company and some because you get that I can't speak about what I do."

-

Rowan smiles and shrugs. "If one is to trust, trust." He trusts Babs would tell him if she thought it was important. And that's all that matters. "Why don't we settle in here then. Next time I'll take you to New York and we can settle in there." He sips his tea. "How do you like it, by the way?"

-

Babs seems to relax at Rowans comment "The tea is delicious but if I was to be critical, I like the last batch you bought and would prefer that… " she watches Rowan over the brim of her cup "I would enjoy spending time with you in New York… Most times I'm there, it's fairly hectic."

-

"Then we shall arrange something relaxing." Even relaxation in New York can be hectic, Rowan knows, but it's possible to get some lazy, slow, nice time in the city as well if one knows where to look.

-

Looking at Rowan, Babs gives a crooked smile "A meal, DVD and dessert at your place, with a walk would suffice…." she suggests.

-

The Blue practically beams at her. "I'd like that very much. I'll even cook something that's not fish." Beat. "Well, try to cook it anyway. I'm getting a little better."

-

Babs laughs "You cook better than I do! I've not actually cooked for you?" the laugh turns to a chuckle "When you're here it will be gourmet takeaway, I'm afraid."

Rowan smiles. "Nothing to apologise for. I enjoy the things you pick." And being able to pick them is rather a wonder to the Blue. He scoots a little closer and sips the tea. "Mmmmm. You liked the other better… I shall have to look for something similar next time."

-

Watching Rowan move closer has Babs quirking an eyebrow. "Just an observation and if we're to drink good tea, why not ones we both like?" she tilts her slightly "Which do you prefer?"

-

"The other one myself." Rowan chuckles. "It had an.. earthier and fuller flavor to it. I'm still… largely trying to decide what I like, but I do know I like to taste things and for those things to taste quite abit."

-

Babs smiles and gives out a long slow laugh "You like strong flavours… um flavours you can really taste, not so subtle… is that what you mean?" that information will help her plan the next order they place.

-

Rowan nods. He doesn't have a refined or subtle pallete… for anything but fish. Fish he could probably indentify by scent blindfolded and exhauted. He's eatan a looooot of fish in his life. "Yes, that sounds about right Babs." He grins. "What's so funny?"

-

Shaking her head at the question Babs responds "Nothings funny, just me putting your comments together… It's nothing…. Now I know that, there's a few dishes you might enjoy, ones that I don't normally get."

-

Rowan smiles. It's nice to have someone around that 'gets' him who isn't Aruthur or Mera (both of whom are sadly often not present). Reaches over and pats Babs hand a couple of times. "So tell me, Babs, how have you been?"

-

The pats on the hand receive a funny look from Babs…. "I've been fine. A few projects that have needed close attention and been slightly problematic, but I seem to be on top of them now." Tilting her head, she looks at the Blue Warrior, "You've patted my hand a couple of times recently, does that mean something specific in your culture?"

-

Rowan cants his head slightly. "Not in particular. It's a gesture of…" He pauses, trying to think of the right words. "Fondness. Closeness. Friendship, perhaps, of a certain kind. I've noticed surfacers sometimes do it as well. Have I been wrong?"

-

Babs shakes her head "No, not really. It depends on how much closeness you wish to demonstrate." Looking at the Blue Warrior, she smiles "Tell me about what you've been doing" and she settles in with her tea to listen.
