May's request to drop another refugee off at the Nest was urgent enough that it pulled Jericho back from Russia on the K'nert express to greet her there personally. Nancy apparently was out at the moment and the other Nesters do defer to the hacker, when necessary. He watches from the front porch of that ranch house as the Quinnjet descends.

-

For the sake of SHIELD paperwork, May ended up having to take Alex back to the closest base for a medical checkover (and to let Bishop and Hunter hitch a ride back to NYC on a different transport). She stayed with the boy the entire time to help him stay calm, and on the flight from there to the Nest, she let him sit in the co-pilot's seat after extracting a promise that he'd not touch anything. He's a good kid, though, so that wasn't a problem.

-

Setting the Quinjet down as gently as possible in the clear space in front of the ranch house, she cuts the engines promptly and looks to Alex. "We're here. You ready?" She'd done her best to explain what little she knows about the Nest to the boy on the flight over, so he wouldn't feel overwhelmed by seeing anything out of the ordinary.

-

Jericho has at least sent K'nert somewhere not obvious for the imp is no where in sight. The glowing-eyed Hacker might not be any more reassuring but… no getting around that one. "Hey… Alex, right? I'm Jericho." He looks up to May. "What happened?"

-

Melinda May leads the boy out of the Quinjet, her own jacket back in her possession and the boy now warmly dressed in SHIELD issue garments that are obviously too big for him. She tolerates him sticking close while she explains quietly. "He was targeted. Abducted and the focus of a spell caster woman that was riding a two-headed dog." She's careful about how she phrases things, and completely avoids mentioning what happened in and to the van.

-

Jericho frowns. Sounds like magic alright. He motions silently and leads May and Alex to the kitchen, which is empty except for a blonde haired young woman who flinches just a little when Trent walks in, though has the good grace to look embarrassed after. "Hey Gwen. Could you watch Alex here for a bit? Get him something to eat? He'll be staying with you guys until his folks come to get him."

Gwen nods and Jericho leads May into the next room. "He was targeted by a spellcaster? Demonic or run of the mill? And do you know why?"

-

Melinda May says, "Pretty sure she wasn't demonic, but that's about all I can guess. I do remember her saying something in a language that sounded vaguely Welsh or Scots Gaelic." She shakes her head. "The boy was snatched off the street by kidnappers. He turned into a werewolf and sliced them all to ribbons, though I don't know if that was something that woman did to him or if he's starting to show signs of mutant ability."

-

Jericho nods slowly, turning that over in his head. "Next of kin?" He asks quietly hoping whatever incident didn't leave the kid orphaned or worse. The Nest is a good family but if this kid has had it that rough…

-

"His parents." May goes on to where what she's found out thus far about the boy's family. "I figured with the wolfing out, this would be a safe place for him until we could find his parents and bring them here." She glances toward the kitchen where she can faintly hear Gwen's voice. "I think he was as scared by what he possibly did as what happened to him, and I know the people here will be understanding and forgiving regardless."

-

"So long as he doesn't kill any of them." Jericho murmurs. "I'll stay here until his situation's resolved. As much as I can. Any word on when they'll be coming?" Jericho's still operating off the assumption that his folks are regular joes from somewhere not too far away. Or at least American.

"How'd SHIELD get involved in a kidnapping anyway?"

-

Melinda May shakes her head no. "I've got calls in to the embassy, but tracking them down isn't as simple as placing a phone call." For her, anyway. "They called us because of the international ramifications." She looks up at Jericho seriously. "His parents are British diplomats."

-

Jericho rubs his temples. "Diplomats. Oy. Right, okay. Let me know if you need help tracking them down. I can probably fast track something." British security will go nuts for a little bit, but hey. "Well, he'll be safe here between the Nesters and the… other folks I hang out with." Outsiders, but he hasn't mentioned them to May so that May can honestly say she doesn't know who they are if it comes up. Besides, Jericho associates with so very many people.

-

Melinda May nods. "That's what I was hoping for. And hopefully it'll only take a few hours to get in touch with his parents." She glances toward the kitchen again. To anyone else it would just seem like a casual gesture. But Jericho knows May well enough to recognize concern. "I've got permission to stay here for a few hours or until his parents are contacted." Whichever comes first is not said aloud.

-

"Make yourself at home then." Jericho gestures. "I"ll get to work on it." Which he does right that second, though it doesn't look like it. May knows the signs though. "Are you okay? I don't track SHIELD activities if I can help it. They get antsy about it." And he understands why, certainly.

-

Melinda May nods. "Yeah. Just been a busy week." She then heads back toward the kitchen so the boy has a familiar face around and so that Jericho can track down Alex's parents without unnecessary distractions.
