Gotham is generally quiet at night… and the Clocktower is generally safe, but Oracle's proximity alarms have recently gone off. Something is taking place within a block of the clocktower. And by the urgency of the alarms certainly suggests it's something fairly violent… and none of the Bats are in the immediate area.

-

Oracle's green eyes snap to her screens… the alarms going off are a bit of a shock, normally she would have noticed if there were trouble this close to the Clocktower. That simply means, that whatever is happening has occured very suddenly… Eyes flicking across the video feeds displayed, she looks for whatever it could be… There… near the cafe she normally goes to… Sitting forward in her chair, the woman frowns "What the hell is going on there…" she murmurs, still managing to sound concerned.

-

A fight. That's what. The cafe patio furniture has been scattered and Oracle can see men in full concealing armor and low profile helmets flinging energy bolts at something off camera. That something shoots back. One of the figures jerks and Babs can see jagged shards of corral sprout from its armor, propelled there at high speed. There's no sound but the clatter as it crashess into a table and knocks it over must be teriffic.

-

"Rowan…" Oracle breathes as she recognises the coral shards that hit the assailants. It's a guess, but an educated one. If not Rowan, one of his kind at least… Dropping her head to hands, Oracle massages her temples before looking at the screens again and Standard Procedure kicks in…. A call is registered on the Gotham PD system and officers despatched nearly immediately. Not seeing any casualities, Oracle doesn't call for paramedic assistance yet. Now… Rowan… is it him? Her gaze flicks through the different feeds, if it is, she wouldn't know… he's a survellience shadow … the shadow is noted.

-

One of the armored figures raises a hand and several chairs lift off the ground and levitate, then hurl themselves out of the frame. Moments later one comes flying back bent and smashes the man to the ground. A muddy haired young man with a jagged coral blade leaps at his attackers. The remaining armored men, three of them, manifest some kind of energy blade. Clearly Rowan, for Rowan it is, is a better swordsman, but he's outnumbered and staying alive only by constantly putting his foes on the defensive.

-

Blowing out a breath, Oracle recognizes the danger and she considers the options. The GPD are still minutes out… probably too long for this fight to last… and she smiles grimly. Pulling up a browser, Oracle enters an address and when the page loads a username, password and special code… the Building Management System for the building the cafe is in appears. Moving quickly, she brings up the security system and, with a click… a loud klaxon sounds.

-

One of the armored men starts at the klaxon and his guard drops enough for the Blue warrior to run the man through and rip his sword out the side. It's messy but in a different way than might be expected. Less than a spray of blood, there's sparks and spray of what could be hydraulic fluid. The other two move in and one of those glowing energy blades slices the Dragon Warrior across the back. Oracle can see the scales suddenly growing across his arm as he turns, grasping the man in a suddenly clawed grip and flinging him out of the camera's view.

-

"Get out of there Rowan…." Oracle mutters. The GPD are nearly there… She's not sure whether the Blue Warrior has been injured, even if he can be injured, but she's not going to make contact in the middle of a fight. The inherent violence isn't new to her, the seeming fatalaties aren't so new but still they breach some level of her personal code.

-

The remaining armored figure gestures with his free hand, sending a bolt of energy right from his hand into Rowan's back. The blue stumbles forward with a cry of pain that Oracle can see but not hear, then turns himself and sends lightning back… and holds it for a good five or six seconds. When it fades Rowan is the only one standing. He sways on his feet, stumbles, leaning on a table and then staggers off frame in the direction of the Clocktower.

-

"Damn, damn, damn" the redhead mutters… Oracle can ''assume'' he's headed to Babs for assistance and will be here soon. Making sure GPD make it onsite, Oracle cuts the building alarms and watches the feeds from the street near the Clocktower… watching for the Blue to appear where she thinks he will…

-

A few minutes later Rowan shows up on her exteneral cameras near the clocktower door, looking human and unarmed again. His back is wet with blood and he looks to have cuts and bruises on his face and arms as well. He reaches up to the buzzer then pauses, hesitating, glancing upward at the top of the tower as if considering.

-

Sighing, Babs opens the doors to Rowan. "Come on up, Rowan…" will be heard through the intercom system. She's already moving towards her med bay to get supplies, she plans on being ready to patch him up when he gets there. Babs is looking a little stressed about the situation.

-

Without a word Rowan opens the door and climbs into the elevator. When he arrives up top he's looking fairly distressed himself. "I'm sorry to… have involved you in this Babs…" He pants, clearly in pain.

-

"It's alright Rowan… I saw you in the camera… you look pretty bad." the Redhead rubs the back of her neck before giving him a once over. "Your back first… I'd say remove your shirt but… just do what you do and sit down… I'll clean it up and then look at the rest of your injuries." No false fraility, this woman is all about business. She's already got supplies spread across her table… "Anything I need to know about your physiology? Sit…"

-

"Not so long as you're not going to do surgery." Rowan's back is burnt by some kind of energy discharge. He's got bruised ribs and he looks as though he's been as the saying goes, through the wringer. He peels his shirt off, revealing other scars from other battles. A bastion of stoicism he is not, wincing as he sits down.

-

"Wellll, I don't plan on doing surgery" Babs says lightly but then grimaces at the injuries, old and new, she sees. "Burns are difficult to treat" she murmurs "How fast do you normally heal Rowan?" the winces are ignored… Babs selects a lint free dressing from her supplies and soaks it in saline water… "This might hurt a little…"

-

"Fast enough…" Rowan murmurs, wincing a bit again. The salt water helps and more than just for the usual reasons. Healing magic was the usual recourse of which he has none but he can visit an Atlantean settlement later and get it treated. He just needed to get off the street. "So sorry…"

-

Babs takes her time in cleaning the burns before putting more lint free dressing over it. "Burns are tricky… hopefully that will help a little. What else needs attention?" Babs looks critically at the Blue Warrior "What on earth are you sorry for?" she asks.

-

"Involving you in this… the Nameless… just had to get off the street." Rowan isn't sure how many of them portaled in. It's usually not a large group but there's no telling. Always unpredictable.

-

"The Nameless, you're enemies? They've crossed dimensions?" Babs starts cleaning up the supplies on the table and putting them away as they talk. "Tell me…" a request, not a demand… "speaking about it might help. And you're more than welcome to shelter here if you want."

-

"The Nameless hunt me. Have hunted me for a long time." Rowan says. "After I came here, I did not… remember them at first. But they have found a way to cross over occasionally. Occulus, their overlord, seems to want me dead…"

-

Medical supplies stored away, Babs moves to the kitchen to make tea. As she puts the kettle on to boil, she looks back at Rowan "I'll make you some tea" tea fixes lots of issues… "And… you don't remember why he wants you dead?"

-

"Oh I remember…" Rowan says grimly. "I was a soldier on my world remember? An elite commando. A dragon. Occulus is an Overlord. A ruler. His territories are on the front lines and our armies… and I personally, have cost him much." And apparently, the man holds a grudge.

-

Listening as she makes the tea, preparing two cups, Babs looks over to Rowan… "OK… and they manage to cross over somehow… has Occulus done that, or is that beneath them?" Babs isn't sure if the Overlords even have gender. Balancing the tea cups on the arms of her chair, Babs returns to the table and hands one to Rowan… "Drink…" she says with a small smile "it will make you feel better, it's tea."
