The Narrows is one of the more lawless parts of Gotham. Gotham PD only goes there in numbers and at great need and it's rapidly becoming known as the place where you go if you want to disappear… or want someone else to.

It's also one of the most magically dead parts of Gotham which is why the Fox doesn't make it out here much. Chinatown is a nexus of occult energies. Some parts of Chelsea too. The Narrows? Not so much.

So the Fox was a bit surprised when he got word of 'something wicked' in the Narrows. Something vague and disturbing. A haunting? Restless faeries? Maybe a minor practitioner of some kind. He's not sure yet and that has him moving across rooftop (which are generally lower here) in search. He's trying to be discreet, so he's left the glowing elk behind and is making do with feats of fairly impressive parkour. Double so when one considers the repeater crossbow he's holding as he does it.

***

"What are you chasing now, Fox" Oracle has been watching the Fox traverse Gotham using the communicator she gave him and speaks to him through it. Turning the video feed on, she's been watching his acrobatic, or parkour efforts and is smiling to herself. The efforts are mildly impressive, but when one works with Nightwing, acrobatics are kind of expected.

***

Audrey ran into some sort of government agent in Metropolis, which of course means it was time to relocate. Again. Gotham, at least, tends to offer some anonymity in the masses of people who are less than well off. Especially in the wake of recent events. She's in the Narrows herself, moving somewhat more circumspectly as she investigates the source of an unusual sound. She's hard to see - while she hasn't gone invisible, only the slightly unnatural movement of shadow around her suggests anything happening.

***

"Maybe you're turning red because he gave you wood," Captain then laughs, "Ahahah- get it?" Nudgenudge. The two are patrolling atop her broomstick. Rain huffs, turning red. "Yeah, yeah. Yuk it up," She isn't sure what she thinks about that. Though, in fairness - against a night sky, a flying broomstick is pretty quiet and stealthy. She opted out of the sparklemodel. And most acrobatics Rain gets up to are avoiding stepping on her imp or cat traversing the stairs. A parkourer she ain't. But that's why witches get issued flying brooms. A lot of them have big chests and parkour just becomes an exercise in not getting black eyes. Rain's case, she's just lanky and - well, engineery.

If she were called during stereotype bingo, someone could take home a lot of goodies. "Do you think it's around here? I heard some rumors…" She holds up a dark purple crystal attached to the end of a string. "Aaah, humanity. Always returning to your roots of rocks on things." "Hey, it helps a little." Siiigh.

***

"That you Oracle?" Kane's more focused on not falling down than anything else right now. "I'm not quite sure. Something a bit on the spooky side. People have been seeing apparitions out here near the intersection of Bourne and Eigth. Could be a haunting or… some kind of spook. It's usually around this time of night." Explaining the magical to people who aren't is kind of a full time job for the Fox. And not one he engages in often but there's no reason to be rude to the Information Goddess.

The fox-masked man comes to a stop on a rooftop and pulls out a crystal. Since he's not far from Audrey, though he hasn't seen her, it may be of some interest the odd way it bends light. Not quite… natural. There's a twist to it.

The flowing of the cloak that goes with the hood and leather may catch some eyes up above. Rain's all stealth like so Kane hasn't seen her yet either. She, however, may see a shimmer on the ground down below. ALmost looks like glitter in a light fog.

***

Leaning back in her chair, Oracle tilts her head as the Fox explains, a small frown creasing her brow "Yes, it's Oracle. You should tell me if someone else speaks through my comms unit…" that could be bad. Pulling up the security feeds of the area, particularly the intersection, Oracle watches the area "How long have you been hearing about this?" the red head is genuinely interested, if bemused, by the nature of magic. "I've got eyes on in that area, if you need them." The two stealthy woman haven't been picked up of the security feeds, the resolution isn't quite good enough.

***

Audrey is occasionally responsible for apparitions. People who are weirded out tend to stay away from the strange things they don't want to see, and that's the way the young mutant likes it. It's unusual for her to see something that qualifies as strange enough to want to investigate further. Catching a glimpse of Kane's light, she moves closer, sticking to the edges of the building and moving through deep, flickering shadows.

***

To be fair, Rain tends to keep stealthy because there is a lot of WTF for many a mortal on seeing a woman flying on a broomstick (and not in the 'high as a kite and sitting in a bowl of hallucinogens that way - although, Rain's relatives probably party it out. A shy, non-partying witch. What a weirdo). Also, the FAA probably has something on wood and magic fliers and - well. It's easier to keep quiet. She does have her smart phone on her and on. Being an occult detective, she tends not to have to explain a *lot*, but given the number of Hex My Ex requests, she's considering charging a finder's fee on couples therapy. Captain is sitting on the broom today, wearing his fedora (he's a cat, reddit hasn't given cats in hats a bad rep - yet) and flight goggles. Cat eyes are sensitive! "Hey, down there," He raps her with a paw. And the two spot the shimmer. She furrows her brows. "Oh man. I hope it's not fae." They don't call them the fair folk because they've got a sense of justice. "Guess we'd better check it out. I can't concentrate enough to fly and divine from up here." In a deep, dramatic voice, "Make it so, Sulu." The two come in for a landing nearby. He might see them when they land near the glimmer, but not in danger of being caught in it.

"I'd like some eyes yes. Not sure if what I'm looking for can be caught on video camera, but if it can that'd be helpful." The Fox peers over the edge of the roof for a moment and then pulls back. He fishes into his pouch for a moment and prodces a charm of twisted animal fur. The druid brings it up in front of his face, murmuring words of power and it slowly starts to disintigrate into violet smoke which he breathes in. His skin takes on a slight shimmer around the eyes and nose and ears. And he… seems to sense, but not see something in Audrey's general direction. A bolt comes up from his belt, the tip blue crystal, and he turns slowly and points it in that direction.

Oracle can't see anything directly, but there is an odd pattern of cameras going blank for just a moment. And it's moving. Down the street in Kane's direction.

Up in the sky Rain can see vague shimmers creeping closer, but what it is who can say?

***

"Violet smoke, that's very pretty, Fox" the camera on the Oracle comm gives good resolution. "Did you see something?" she watches the arrow tip come up as he turns. The pattern of outages on the cameras gets her attention and she sits forward, the frown deepening. "Somethings moving down the street, towards you. It's not registering on the video but it is causing disruption to the the feeds."

***

Audrey stills for a moment as she sees the change in the light around the figure on the roof, pressing back against the nearest building as she tries to get a better sense for what's going on. Shadows coil more deeply around her, bathing the corner and the side of the building in darkness. There are faint flickers around the edges, the sort of thing that draw the eye away from one part and into another without any distinguishable pattern.

***

Rain is coming in closer, but not within range of the cloud itself. Careful now. Captain peers intently too, his triangular nose (with just a couple of black dots! He's still young!) wriggling. Gotta sniff. It's a cat thing. Rain has decided to concentrate intently, keeping her crystal on a string out. "Hey, careful there," Captain reminds them. Never divine and fly. "Yeah, I am," She promises. The two are intent, coming closer. "Hey wait." Is that- is someone moving? They come in closer towards the shimmer and shadows. Instead of a crystal, she pulls a flashlight. She can get by just feeling magic for now. Feeeeeeeeeel that magic. Not in a Stevie Wonder musical kinda way though. She points it downward as they look.

***

She sees the Fox, pointing a crossbow with a slightly luminescent bolt at… a kind of vague area. "No I don't see anyone… but I do smell someone…" He looks at the vague sparkles. Clearly he's thinking 'impish spook' and not 'mutant girl' in this case as he approaches slowly. The news that there's something down on the streets gets him to stop and look behind him and then… there's a light on him? "Two spooks?" He looks up… ah, the witch. Rain gets a wave before he looks back down. "I know you're here. Show yourself!"

***

Oracle gets a glimpse of the witch through the comms video feed and smiles slightly. The video feeds down the street still reveal nothing and she knows better than to interrupt the feet on the street. The red head places her arms on her console, eyes narrowing slightly as she waits to see who or what is revealed.

***

Out of the shadows walks…what appears to be an old bag lady. With a creaky shopping cart full of clothes, trash, and a lonely tabby cat curled on top of it. The illusion is a good one, delicately crafted with careful attention to detail. But anyone using senses other than sight may notice the lack of smell. Or sound. A shopping cart should probably be rattling or creaking as it rolls. This one? Not so much. Audrey, meanwhile, stays in the shelter of the shadows.

***

Rain is a witch. She sometimes gets flash mobs quoting Monty Python or actual mobs with pitchforks, depending on where she goes. Fortunately, Rain misses the comment on smelling. Captain's nose is still a-wiggle. He looks concerned, feline pupils narrowed to slits in the dim light. She waves back, looking here and there with her light. She's trying to feel the magic out. Is it familiar? Hmm. How strange. "It doesn't smell odd," He offers. Then, he sees another cat. But there's no cat smell. "… huh. That's uh. Cat minus cat smell. And I would know," He states. For he is a cat, and cats sniff. True facts.

"We'll take a look down," Rain offers up. "Let's land near it." She's a witch. And sense magic isn't turning up much. Time to get a bit more mundane in investigating. The light is shone onto it as they approach.

***

Kane eyes the bag lady and raises that crossbow. "Not right is it?" For a moment he looks like he's going to shoot the illusion but he is in fact aiming past it, to the edge of the alley. His bolt flies and detonates with a bright flash not unlike a sudden strobe.

Behind him Oracle can see a woman come into being. She's glowing and transparent and floating slowly up the road. As she passes a CCTV the information Goddess can see that she has what look like stab wounds on her back.

***

"If you wanted more light in that area, you could have just asked" the bright flash affecting her video feeds in that section momentarily. The appearance of the wraith, that's how Oracle thinks of her, has her tilting her head again "I think your friend is back, Fox. At least, I think it's her… the hair is different this time but she looks similar."

***

As the bolt goes off, the bag lady and the cart disappear. The bright light of the bolt itself doesn't last very long, either, as Audrey quickly smothers it, but there may be a glimpse of the girl for just a moment before she turns and bolts down the alley. Finding out what's going on here is definitely not worth getting shot.

***

Rain is investigating the shimmering, unaware of what is behind Fox. The two agree, "Yeah, no smell or sound-" And then ow. The two wince at the sudden light. Captain hisses, puffing up a little. Rain at least manages to close her eyes. And Captain blinks, but it was still startling. They take a moment to recover. "It - she's gone, and so's your light," With that, they decide to pull up near Fox. It's easier to talk that way. They kind of blink. She opens her mouth and closes it. Did they see-? "Are you haunted by any chance?"

"Er… yes…" The Fox blinks as well when there's suddenly a broom and a witch and a cat by him. He looks over to where the bag lady was. She's gone. He's about to pronounce the threat ended when Oracle calls out the woman behind him. He spins and stares for a moment and then starts to back up. "Uh oh. That's not Caitlyn… that's a Revenant… ooooooh crap." He works the slide on his crossbow as the woman continues to float toward the center of the intersection.

***

Oracle gets that glimpse of the girl and notes the timestamp on the video. She'll come back to that later. 'Revenant' …. That's second time he's used that word… but this time Oracle seems to understand it. "What do you need this time? Fire, Lighting, something?" Once she knows, Oracle will see what resources she can bring to bear.

***

"Need a lift?" They offer. "And do you mean like, one of the soul eaters or a strengthened vamp—" He seems worried. That's enough for Rain and Captain. The offer of a lift still stands. She's not entirely familiar with revenants, but who knows? He's likely just said yes to being haunted, and they seem to believe it. They have a flashlight and a flying broomstick. It's good times all around. Otherwise, Rain will try to keep the woman in sight and near Fox.

***

"Revenant. As in the literal meaning of the word. 'Returned.' They're ghosts drawn to some place significant for some reason. I need to know what's going on. Find out anything you can about suspicious or violent deaths at that intersection." The druid climbs onto the broom… which is a bit awkward, it must be said. "Yeah. I'd love a lift."

***

You would think that was an easy request really, just do a search… but the search Oracle conducts brings up a number of potential matches. It takes a few minutes to narrow it down. "This one. Dana Coswell, she was murdered about ten years ago on that intersection. Nasty story really, her killers were never caught." There's a slight pause "This might be pertinent, she was said to love cats."

***

"I see," So one of the Returned. "I'll have to read more on ghosts," Rain admits. "And welcome aboard," Captain climbs easily onto Rain's shoulders, to make room for the druid. The two seem to like him well enough. With that, once he's on and secure, they'll pick up a bit of speed. It's easier to keep up with her when they're in the air and there's a lot less worry about traffic. In Oracle's defense, there's a lot of violent deaths in Gotham. It's a wonder the City Spirit stays sane sometimes.

But nevertheless, Rain will keep up with the woman, whether or not she can hear Oracle. Likely not.

***

Oracle is speaking through a speaker mounted on Kane's vest, so it's possible that Rain can hear her. In any case, the druid is loading his crossbow with what look like salt tipped bolts. One after the other sliding down into a 'well' in the bow. "Okay. I can disrupt a revenant, but someone has to ritually banish it by severing it's connection to this world. Except we don't have one. But…" Kane looks up at Captain. "Maybe we can make one. Oracle, we'll need a spot where there aren't any people, and I need to know what her cat's name was."

The Revenant is now speeding through the streets almost recklessly. Looking for ayneone to take it's rage out on.

***

Finding a place where there aren't too many people is really quite easy and Oracle relays the information to the Fox. The womans cats name will take a bit of digging "Looking that information up, Fox. That's going to take a few minutes, it wasn't listed on any official report." Oracle can dig deeper and is already searching personal files for the requested information.

***

Huh. "Did she have facebook or a blog or anything? People love postin' us, at least, I see that when I look over Rain's shoulder," Captain notes wryly. As in Ancient Egypt, so today. Cats everywhere. Maybe the universe is secretly powered by cats. They do seem to be magic in their own right. "I guess I can lend you a paw." Rain herself hms. "I've banished /demons/ and helped ghosts make it home, but never … without their consent. This is new to me. So we'll follow what you tell us," She offers.

At least in the air, they needn't worry about cars too much. Rain's been 'driving' a couple of years at least at this point. It's still a bit tricky. "Hopefully she doesn't hit that dealer's territory up ahead," Rain considers. "I got a lot of clients needing healing from that place." Addiction is a cruel mistress

***

"Well…" The Fox explains both for Rain's benefit and for Oracle's. "We need to get her a connection so strong that breaking it will banish her, and then take it away. So once Oracle tells us the name of the cat, you need to cast a spell to change your familiar's name to whatever it is. Then we let her pet and cuddle and, you know, whatever before I start peppering her with salt arrows and you change Captain's name back. She'll resist, but if you break the link, she'll go away. Put us down over there."

***

Oracle has found several records, photos and the like. "She had three cats… the oldest one was called Lyric, next one called Melody and the third called Harmony. She seemed most attached to the oldest…"

***

Most people spoil their cats. Rain is one of them. She loves Captain. They were homeless together, and while it was difficult - they kept after one another. Nevertheless, Captain listens to this and looks - uneasy. "Hey. I'm gonna need like, some mahi-mahi, a bit of tuna and a /really/ nice cardboard scratcher," He happens to likes his name after all! "Sure," Rain murmurs. "I'll - do my best. Will Captain need any armor or enchantment?" He's her familiar and pet. The two are close, even if he makes 'getting wood' jokes at Rain because she seems to think this druid guy is super cool.

"So we'll rename him Lyric, and then you do your thing?"

With that, they slowly swoop in to land where Kane points out. Captain looks a little grumbly, but the two trust Kane. "We'll start on your cue." And they totally will.

"Er… no. But she may try to… hang on to him when you break the link. Might cause some mental stress." Kane didn't hear the 'wood' joke. "Lyric it is, Oracle. Do me a favor and see if you can make the street lights in the area… go really bright. Ghosts don't like light. Wait for my signal though." Once they set down The Fox goes to get a good shooting vantage and motions to Rain to start the ritual.

***

"Yes, I can do that. I can also give you more light." Oracles already tapped into the city management system, she suspected that would be needed. "Ready and waiting, but remember, it will take a short while to get them all on." The red head isn't sure she likes what's she hearing about using Captain, but holds her own counsel, it's not her cat.

***

Rain and Captain don't really like it either. "I'm doubling my fee," He grunts. Rain gives him a little hug and scritch. "Alright. We'll help. Just - please be careful." The two care for one another. They're cat and witch, that's like peanut butter and chocolate. "I guess we can't shield him, huh," Worry is apparent. But they have to end this. Deep breath. With that, she will start the ritual, setting Captain down. Breaking away Captain, bringing along Lyric. There is power in a name, and Captain is well, his real name as far as humans are concerned. Cat names are for cats, after all. It will take her a few minutes, but she's become a pretty good caster.

And there's a feeling of change in the air, as it finishes. "Well. That's a weird feeling," He grunts. "Guess I better stick to meowin'," He sounds worried. There'll be a spot for him to stand soon.

***

The ghost senses her kitty nearby and floats down the alley to the little loading dock area where they'd landed. Kane's waiting up on the dock itself, hidden as best he can. He needn't be, the Revenant's ignoring him. ANd Lunair. "Lyric… here kitty kitty. Who's my good girl? Who's my pretty girl?" She bends down to pick Captain up and starts rubbing his belly. "That's right. You love that don't you."

Huh. She had girl cats. Who knew?

***

… of course it had to be a girl cat. Captain can't even keep his masculine dignity. But he seems to grasp the supernal implications. A Revenant is serious business. He looks up to her, murrrping softly. And at the belly rubbing, he purrs. Soft, happy cat noises. Captain will go with it, and Rain watches quietly, unesily. She's got Kane's back, though.

The Fox raises his crossbow, sites down the length and… "NOW!" His first shot thuds into the ghost's ectoplasm, causing her to ripple like water and cling to Captain. Then another hits, then another. The ghost should be banished, but it's drawing strength to stay from 'her' cat. Time to take that away. "Rain, Oracle, hit it!"

***

Oracle does. Feeding more power into the streets grid, the street lights flare brightly but the Information Goddess is careful not to feed so much the lights blow. She also turns on every building light she possibly can… from security floodlights to showroom lights. The street should be awash with light by the time she has finished.

***

Captain doesn't want to have this pulled from him, he meowls unhappily. Captain! Rain doesn't like hearing or seeing this. So now it's time to sever the ritual and give Captain his name back. Her hair rises just a little, since she's casting faster than usual, breaking the spell. It feels like a connection, a thread has snapped and pulled. Stretched to its limit and snipped. "Captain!" Rain calls. Captain is going to bolt back to the witch, in pain. He's a bit dazed. One name traded for another, one painful connection severed and given back.

***

The Revenant turns ugly. Her hands lengthn to claws, her face goes gaunt. She shrieks in horror and lunges after Captain. Kane drops another pair of salt tipped bolts in her back, stunning her as he hops down from the loading dock and pulls out a special enchanted silver one. Just one more shot… "Hang on Rain, Captain!"

He fires. Time seems to slow as the bolt buries in the ghosts back. There's an unearthly shriek as the light begins to burn the dead woman, sizzling her away until there's nothing left but an old college grad ring on the floor.

The Fox picks it up. "Oracle, can you find out where she was buried? I'll need to return this."

***

Now that the fighting is done, Oracle backs off the lights and looks relieved that Captains ok. "I've already done it" the information the Fox is after was in the first file she looked at. "Gotham Cemetery." and a plot number is given. "How will you return it, Fox?"

***

Captain is unhappy, and more than a little stressed. But Rain's holding onto him, rather than him clambering up to her. She is petting him, keeping him close. They trust the druid and Oracle. Time goes too slow, as the final bolt lands. "I feel kind of sorry for her in a way." She was taken from her cats, and who knows how long it took to find them homes and care, if ever? Nevertheless, the two are slowly settling. "We can help get him there. I'm not sure how fast we can dig, to be honest," She offers.

***

"Won't have to dig far. I'm just going to bury it under the headstone. Magic is Symbolism. Rain here could tell you about that." The druid does have other ways of getting around, but he's tired and needs to make more charms, so he won't turn down a ride. "Hopefully that'll do the trick. Usually does."

***

"Alright," Rain nods. She is content to give him a ride. "I'd offer a portal, but those take awhile and I'm not sure everyone likes portals," She remarks. Captain grunts. "And they're dead obvious." A nose wrinkle. The cat is going to stay safely on Rain's shoulders for now. The broom is back, and she hops on. They wait for Kane to join them and get as reasonably settled as he can. Maybe this is why a lot of guy witches use vacuums or saucers these days. "It should," She offers. Hopefully.

***

Kane seems quite happy to… well 'happy' is probably a stretch but he's grateful for the ride. Gotham Cemetary isn't too far by broom. "So, Rain, this is the second time I've run into you in Gotham and yet no one knows who you are in the local magical circles. Are you new or from out of town?" Oracle gets to listen. And maybe break in.

***

Oracle knows through her contacts that Rain is a member of the Titans. She's vaguely aware that Rains' been missing for sometime but the details are sketchy. "I'm more interested why another Magic user is in Gotham. It seems like you were patrolling."

***

Rain is glad to give Kane a lift. "Um. I was here a long while ago when I was homeless," She admits. "I was known as a healer, but I kept to myself. I didn't even know they had magic circles here," She remarks. "And nah. I have a client around here. Horrible about giving themselves hangovers." She was there to heal. "I really should cut him off, this can't be healthy. You have NO idea how much food I got for mending people. I have a home in New York now, though. And it's nice to be back on the surface," And with Captain. "Still, it must be kind of lonely being a mystic here."

***

"Depends." The Fox murmurs. Seems that there's a story to that but he's not telling it right now. "It can be though yes. There are others here but the good ones keep to themselves. And the bad ones…" Well, that's what the Fox is for. "We're almost there, it seems."

***

"I see," Rain seems quietly curious. But they have only recently met. He's intriguing. What's up with that? But when your magic is based on the ability to concentrate, getting flustered in mid-air is an abjectly terrible idea. "I suspected so. Seems like shooting in the face or a shiv is a common greeting around here, let alone…" She trails off. "Yup, I think I remember a necromancer getting loopy out here once," A soft sigh. Rain goes at a decent clip. She's not pushing max speed though, and it feels a lot like riding a motorcycle. Albeit way quieter, in the air and with a cat. "I take it you're… like, a druid or a shaman?" The witch hazards a guess. She suspects he long ago figured /her/ out.

***

"Druid. Neo-druid, technically. Lot of the training, less of the religion." It helps that modern scholars doen't really know what the Druidic religion was beyond that there likely was one. Kane shrugs a shoulder. "Helps me focus my abilities and gives me direction. And you? I'd not expected tomeet a hedge witch out here. Much less twice."

***

"I see. Neat," A druid~ Okay, concentrate. Rain listens for her part. Captain is quiet, eyes closed and draped around Rain's shoulders. He's resting. And dreaming of all that fish and that scratcher, yes. "Makes sense. Me? I - uh." She goes quiet a moment. "I wasn't supposed to have magic. So my family and clan deemed me unworthy, taught me the basics, issued me my relics and broom and - off I went. I couldn't hold down a 9 to 5 being magic. Even if I tried, weird stuff started happening," She sighs. "So that was that. We're doing okay now, aside from people trying to take my home and - my aunt being squished by the house." That - was tragic.

"As I said, I was homeless awhile. Healing here is a good business. I got a lot of sandwiches, laundry and shower rights. Today, we just helped someone with a hangover, and some others. But if this is your territory to look after, I respect that totally." She'll back off.

***

The Fox shakes his head. "It is my territory to look after, mostly because I've never seen anyone else do it. And the ones who would otherwise…" Batman, Bat-er, everything. "… They don't know enough to do it and not get killed. Or mindwiped. Or turned into furniture or amusements for unspeakable horrors from beyond the veil. So, yeah, that's why I do it."

***

"Well, let us know if you need help or healing," Rain offers. "Gotham is a pretty rough place to run solo," She considers. "It feels kind of sad having to hide things from cops and folks sometimes, but as you said. I couldn't imagine normal police doing too well against say, a banshee." It would end all sorts of badly. "Still, that's impressive."

***

"Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. I do healing myself but it's…er… painful. And I need stuff for it." He motions toward a gravestone that seems to be the one they're looking for. "Just over there I should think. Bout the right age."

***

"Yeah, it's rough. I need to be well, have my relics and be able to concentrate. But healing other people is no problem. The worst I had to do was when a guy got hit by a Gotham bus. First time I ever saw one on time," Rain ponders this. She takes them towards the gravestone. "Sounds good, let's see if we can see her name." And really, druids are pretty cool people as far as witches or their hedge trimming cousins go.

***

There it is. Right on the headstone. Kane sighs and kneels down with one of his crystals, using the pointed end to dig out a small hole. "So sad. Ten years, stuck here punishing whomever she saw for her horrible death."

***

It feels a bit sad. Rain keeps her broomstick in hand, Captain curled and dozing a little. "Yeah. But in a way, it's hard to fault her. She didn't die peacefully, and given how long it might've taken to look after her cats…" She is sympathetic to a point. "Tragic all around. Here's hoping she finds some peace, at least," She looks around, just to be safe.

***

"Me too." Kane stands up and pulls out one more charm. A feather. "If not I'm sure I'll be doing this again. Revenants tend to come back. A lot. Hence the name." He sighs and shrugs. "Anyway… thank you for the help Rain." A large glowing hawk lands next to him. A hawk the sizze of a motorcycle.

***

Rain frowns a little at that. "Well. You're welcome," She tips her hat at him. "Good thing Captain can't see that." Mmm, giant drumsticks. Cats. "We'll be heading home. Um. Here. You can have my phone number if anything happens. I live in New York, but it's easy if I actually bother to teleport. I hate teleporting." Why is that? That sounds like a story… "Anyway, have a good night." He seems - really cool. Uh oh. Ahem. Time to hop the broomstick. "Be well."
