The Clocktower… Batman's sketchy about it lately and has already scanned from outside by means of the Batmobiles own sensory systems. Oracle keeps a tight shop though and if she doesn't - he pulls stunts like he did months ago and breaks in on her security just to make sure the edge is nice and sharp. As such the man is in full gear and cowl on.
The days of comfort inside the Clocktower will be hard earned again.
"Oracle, I'm coming in." Batman announces at the entry. He'll be polite and wait for her to chime him through.

***

Oracle has seen Batman arrives and is watching from her video feeds. Batmans annoucement gets a small smile from the redhead, typically the Batclan let themselves in, she's given them all access. "Nice to see you, Batman. Come in." And the door and lift unlock to allow access.

***

Batman takes a quick visual sweep of the room then settles himself on the edge of a counter.
"I'm here so obviously we need to speak. Have you been digging on Doctor Blank?" First shots fired.

***

"Obviously…" Oracle watches as the Dark Knight settles and smiles slightly at his question. "Of course, you wouldn't expect differently, would you?" It is after all her stock in trade, information. "Is there something you'd like to discuss or perhaps share?"

***

"In regards to Blank? No and no. It's a closed subject until I say otherwise." Stern, mean sounding almost. It's not usual for Batman to hide anything from Babs or to act this closed off. "Just stay off that subject while you can."
As if catching himself he clears his throat, "It's important. I can't have you involved or the others until I fix it."
A fingertip taps on his wrist, the LED there lights up and he points at her, "The Bird Watcher… He tried to hack the Batcomputer last night. Fortunately Alfred was awake and seen the attempt. I know he wants to contact you, some strange fixation, find out what you can and deal with him. I know that is a rough thing to ask considering I am barring you from why he is involved but it's a need. He is a liability and a danger."

***

She's not surprised at the directive and simply stares calmly at the man perched on her desk, leaning back and folding her arms. "While I can… " she nods slowly in agreement with that caveat in place.

"Birdwatcher." she sighs "He or she, who can tell, has made contact. They were…. suggestive in their communication" she flushes slightly "I did offer to meet them… I just have to work out how. And I won't be going alone either." She shrugs "What can you tell me then… going in blind, is not good business."

***

"I'm under the impression the man styles himself a trickster and you're not blind. Just avoid the subject of Doctor Blank. If he brings it up, listen, don't inquire." Batman reaches his hand up and pinches two fingers on the bridge of his nose (over top the cowl), "It's complicated. It is also something that will draw attention to you that you don't want. More than our usual. I am trying to contain it before it spreads… "
A look towards the ground, around the room and at the ceiling. Not an obvious sweep but she knows when the Dark Knight's mind is whirring and in motion, "The Yakuza attempted again? Enlighten me on that subject."

***

Shaking her head, Oracle watches Batman "If it affects me, I would really like to know…" but she knows that's a useless tact and let's the subject go. The Yakuza attempt gets another shake of her head "I actually don't know for sure." The redhead chews her bottom lip thoughtfully "I was asked to consult on an attempt on dam recently… not that I did much there at all really. It was really just a conversation and providing some management advice. That's the only remote tie in I can find." Another small shrug "I've got requests out to the group I spoke trying to find out more."

***

Batman's eyes narrow to slits, "It doesn't directly effect you. Yet." It will if she persists on it. Perhaps it is best to let the subject go untouched even on his end untiil he can handle it, "Just checking. This is your haven but it's not exactly a fortress, if we have to relocate you just say the word and we will." It's Barbara's Clocktower though, very unlikely she'll want to part with it.
"The 9th Precinct in GCPD is slammed hard by the gang war going on in East End. I'm going to try to deal with one source tonight but see if you can't help them by routing their calls, some first responder clean up, Batgirl can help take down some of the larger clusters. Just to ease it up on the officers there."
A pause and he speaks again, "Your father? How is retirement treating him?"
He knows James Gordon is not too happy about the path his career took there at the end, Yindel stepping in like she did. Batman would love to get her out of her position and Gordon back but right now he doesn't see that happening. Not without some strings pulled. Very connected and messy ones.

***

Oracle sighs "I'd already let it go. I will meet with the Birdwatcher and report back." Looking around the room, she shrugs "My defences worked, I can still fight and I had assistance. I don't need to relocate…. yet. But I was prepared to clear the place if the breach was successful." But it is her Clocktower, her haven and she'll let it go only with a battle.

"The whole GCPD seems to be under pressure, let me know what I can do there." She already has hooks into the despatch systems. "This SRD thing is leaving me cold, to be honest." A small, sad, nod "Dad is /not/ happy about the SRD thing, but there's nothing he can do. It makes his… retirement… uncomfortable. I feed him bits of information, but I try to downplay it too. It's a dreadful mess."

***

"The SRD is leaving everyone cold." The weather not to account. It's freezing there too - Gotham always gets a colder winter season than Metropolis or New York. It's almost supernatural. More to attest to the curse of this Gothic nightmare.
"I've not spoken to him since my return. I should go do that… it's been over a year." He doesn't mean his return from being undercover as Lefty but just back to the scene, a year away.
"I should get moving. I need to go warm up before I go knocking on the Tin Roof Club's front door. It isn't going to be pretty." Also Bruce Wayne has a date with Chili Storm this weekend. She's a snob, a beautiful, influential snob and he needs to have his A game going to make sure he looks the proper Gotham socialite. No doubt Diana's patience is being tried by his antics - cover or not.
"We'll be in touch as usual."

***

Oracle nods at Batmans words "Go see Dad. I'm sure he'd like it…" The warming up comment gets a slight sigh "I need to find a new sparring partner now Tims' on vacation. He kept me on my toes, so to speak" She misses the activity it seems. "Have fun out there…" Fun… it seems is relative "even if it's not going to be pretty. Try to be careful and I'll be watching."

***

"You have Batgirl, she is the best sparring partner you could ask for."
Batman moves to the door opening it, "One other thing… the Atlantean king was shot on American soil. The Atlantean empire may be the single most dangerous collective on our planet, if they take this the wrong direction and treat it as an act of war… just be prepared. I'm not eager to fight an Atlantean invasion fleet but if we have to we have to. I've taken several safety precautions along the Gotham harbor but it won't be enough - Just do your thing and stay one step ahead of the mess. Because it will get very messy."
The Caped Crusader now takes his leave walking calmly back down to the Batmobile. It sits there several minutes before taking off.
