It's a mess. How could things in Gotham be anything but, considering? Driving is like moving through molasses. The sky is darkened as if there was a total eclipse by clouds, but even more concerning is the fact that data transmission is being affected. In a bad way. Aircraft are having difficulties and so most flights coming in and going out of the major airports are grounded for safety concerns.

This is one of those moments where Clint gets to wear two hats, as it were. He's dressed in 'civilian' but there's little escaping the fact that the man is in full 'agent' mode. Outside, he's talking to a couple of foot patrolmen, pointing in the direction of the Trigate bridge, his voice low. They seem to 'get him', and the pair nod in response to whatever is said.

In the next couple of seconds that pass, however, there is a duty Sergeant that comes out that front door in a huff, a piece of paper in hand, and he looks concerned, "With the problems this is causing us, banks are getting hit." Now that there's no such thing as a 'direct line' anymore? "And it's not just amateurs now."

***

Kate has been doing her usual thing. She's found something a little in between her usual uniform and casual wear. The pants and boots are black, but the jacket is pretty much her usual one. At the moment, she's finishing chatting up some more junior officers, getting a feel for what things are like at street level. As they head out to their next assignments, she turns to come back to Clint and the sergeant, catching the tail end of the comments. "Even the non-criminals are likely to be making a run on the banks right now. Can't run their debit cards and they can't buy groceries," she points out, grimacing.

***

String of bank robberies. Wonderful. Marvelous. And there's no line of communication?

Clint takes a peek at the paper as one of the uniformed officers grabs at it. The SHIELD agent doesn't have to guess; the pair are more than happy to divulge the address. He nods in Kate's direction. "Yeah." Which means- and he looks to the other archer, brows rising. "Shall we?"

***

"Or we could talk to the National Guard and FEMA about setting up some food and water stations?" Kate suggests, looking between Clint and the Sergeant. "At least it might cut down on the number of innocent people for bank robbers to try to use as hostages, which would be a good thing. But yeah, interrupting bank robberies is good, too." A crooked smile flashes as she unclips the collapsible bow from the side of the quiver on her back. "You driving, or me?"

***

Oracle is in the Clocktower, the lack of Satellite comms is concerning but that's only part of the Oracle comms network. She still has comms and can contact her teams on the ground. Most of her video feeds are still working, don't ask how (it's a trade secret) and so she's monitoring the general mayhem caused by the Atlanteans.

***

Umoja Unlimited has interests in a variety of transportations companies, so Ozymandias is not happy about the recent developments from some derange creature claiming they have the right to judge humanity by shutting down shipping lanes. He is happy that his medical and food supplies are getting through, and the fact that his security business always rises when they have these problems.

One of his security guards are stationed at the bank that has found itself under attack. His corporation has fitted the bank with an antennas and transmitted to the various repeaters around the city to notify the police in they found themselves being attacked.

Ozymandias is piggybacking his coms of one of these repeaters and hands to the bank.

***

Clint rolls his eyes at Kate's question and tosses her his keys; she drives, he's got shotgun. "Yeah, but they're also full up. Three cities are going to be taxing. Red Cross is trying to get people in to help, but this isn't making it easy. So, guess who gets to play middleman?"

SHIELD? Nope. In this case, the pair are working under the aupices of the JL:A.

It's slow going through the city, to say the least. Traffic has never been particularly good, and in these conditions, they're even worse. "I swear to god, I don't want to die in Jersey." Clint looks over at Kate, his expression mock-serious. "If anything ever happens to me and we're in Jersey, falsify the documents or I'll haunt you."

***

Kate snatches the keys out of the air with a flash of a grin, sliding into the drivers seat. Clint has good reason to worry about dying here in Gotham. She's driving. Kate and the rules of the road have only a very casual acquaintance when it comes to getting to a bank robbery.

"I already told you, if you die anywhere, I'm calling someone to shove your soul back into your body," she points out. "So it's going to be a moot point."

***

Needless to say most of the Bat family and Oracle assets are being kept busy and although the bank robbery has been seen there are other, equally more pressing (if not more so) issues being dealt with. The Clocktower dwelling redhead is monitoring the bank situation, unaware the two SHIELD, sorry JL:A, agents are incoming.

Picking up the transmitted signal from the bank, Oracle frowns at screens and she sets her systems to breaking into it - it's not run by the City and it's not run by her, which makes it suspicious to say the least. It doesn't take long to find the right frequency, the redhead traces the signal back to Umoja Unlimited (known to her for various reasons). For now, she's just going to monitor the signal and determine how the line is being used.

***

Ozymandias speaks on his coms to the security team. "By order of Mr. Morien Washington, Code of the day is: Tango Foxtrot Seven, You are to protect yourselves and any civilians by retreating to a secure location. Backup is on the way." The security guards take the night manager and hurries them to the back. One of the security guards takes a bullet in her leg for her efforts.

30 seconds latter, Ozymandias has made it to the top of the bank. He begins to count the number of visible intruders as he works on a strategy.

***

The moment they make the scene, or near it, Clint's out of the car even before Kate slows to a stop having reached into the back seat for his own bow and brace of arrows. Looking around, it's easy enough to find footholds to start climbing to the top of one of the lower rooves in the area to finish crossing to the bank, though now, up and off the ground.

***

The car fishtails when Kate slams the breaks to let Clint out on one side of the building, tires squealing. Once he's out, though, she's pulling around to the alley on the side of the building, pulling out her phone as she puts the car in park. « Bank robbery this location, » she texts quickly. « Cops short-handed, on the scene with Hawkeye. Available for call outs? » There's a frequency added to the end, and she thumbs a communicator into her ear before stepping out of the car to try for a back door.

***

Kates' text is received with a grim smile, Batman won't be pleased that SHIELD or the JL:A are in town but Oracle will take all the assistance she can. Using the frequency the young archeress provided, Gothams Information Goddess speaks "Hawkeye, and you're there with Hawkeye, this is Oracle. I can provide assistance. The security guards have been directed to protect the civilians and get them to a secure location."

The signal she's broken into seems legitimate and Oracle speaks through the repeated system to Morien "Mr Washington, this is Oracle. I've been monitoring the bank, how may I be of assistance. I have comms and monitoring systems active throughout Gotham. I have two agents onsite, they are aware of your instructions to the security guards."

***

"Mr. Washington is one of my many employers, Prophetess. I am overseeing his security for a few days in Gotham. He is probably glued to a monitor somewhere or holding a late night board meeting." Ozymandias counts the cars outside and throws some concussive bombs with a remote denotator underneath the three cars for latter. Ozymandias continues speaking on his coms as he enters the bank from an upstairs window, "I really should tell him how clever you are when it comes to listening into comlinks." Ozymandias says, "There are people inside, so send an ambulance. Let any other heroes know that I am on the scene. This is not my normal hangout, and I would hate to be attack by a friendly."

***

Clint looks up and back to where he'd last left Kate, the com going off in his ear. A nod of acknowledgment that no one will see is given, and he pulls an arrow from the quiver to nock it. "This is Hawkeye from the JL:A…" and there's a pause before, "How many inside?" comes before he adds, "Are you armed? And if so, we're gonna want to do this as peaceful as we can." Is it -really- Hawkeye? "So no one gets hurt- or… uh… more hurt than they already are."

***

"Hey, Oracle." Kate speaks softly, but still in the friendly tone one might use for a casual phone call. "I was totally going to call you earlier, but then things went all doom and gloom. International incidents. Always messy, right?" As she speaks, she's checking out the back door, giving it a good look for any traps, alarms, or particularly difficult locks.

***

Oracle smiles as Ozymandias speaks "Not a prophetess, Ozymandias, and so noted about Mr Washington. Some day, we must speak more deeply. You have the two Hawkeyes…." will Oracle ever get used that statement "onsite. I'm despatching EMT's but given the current state of the city, I have no idea how long that will take."

Whilst she's been talking, she's been using way slower links than usual to access the Building Management Systems (hello 1994 and dial up). "Younger Hawkeye, of course, we can talk when this mess is over" The redhead is certain the Atlantean threat can be solved "I have access to the building systems, I'll unlock doors as you need them. Just…. it's going to be slower than normal, things are a real mess digitally."

***

"I heard once that the Oracle was an all knowing prophetess. It seems calling you, Prophetess is only fitting." Ozymandias speaks into his coms, "Peaceful. Well, I can do peaceful for the guys inside the building, but there are three guys outside that will need to be taking care of very quickly. Stay away from the cars. I have bombs underneath."

Ozymandias throws some knockout gas bombs to deal with the intruders in the bank.

***

"CCTV on the walls, Kate," Clint murmurs. "But, we're the good guys." Just in case anyone was wondering!

Taking a flying leap towards the bank, Clint manages to catch hold of the side of the outside wall of the bank before he scrambles up to enter through an HVAC maintenance door.

The manager is in the back with the security guard, the other guard is down with a gunshot wound to the leg. Clint's in the ceiling, and with one shot, one of the men with a gun goes down with a tazer shot to the leg. It's when the gas goes off that the archer has to pull back.

"Dammit… gas out!"

***

"We really ought to look into filters of some sort, that keeps happening," Kate notes clinically as Clint has to back out, giving the door a gentle tap. "I'm at the south side door, Oracle. And hey, you've got this," she adds, encouraging. As if the digital genius needs encouragement. "I'm ready when you are."

***

The redhead in the Clocktower smiles at Kates encouragement "I know I got this… just slowly today." The entrance Kate indicates in unlocked "Unlocked and go Hawkeye" Oracle considers the young archeresses possible path through the building, she'll unlock each door as Kate gets near them. "Acknowledged, Ozymandias. Just be a little careful with the gas, would hate to take out your support crew."

***

"I thought they were handling the were going to handle the 3 outside instead of those 3, now two in here." As Ozymandias watches the gas fill the room and the intruders gasp for air. "Let me know if they are going to need help on the outside."

Ozymandias runs quickly towards the first robber and kicks the guy's left knee shattering it. He follows the guy to the floor and slams his head into the ground.

"Keep an eye on the doors for me, Clint?" Kate murmurs into the comm, giving her partner another direction to go as she wraps her scarf around her face and moves through the bank, clearing rooms as she goes. The sounds of fighting from the other room get a quirk of her brow - sounds like someone's getting their butt kicked, at least.

***

Oracle watches the progress as best she can with the slower comms "The outside three have been handled. One Hawkeye watching doors, the second Hawkeye clearing rooms around you." the redhead checks the EMTs arrival "EMTs are still being despatched. Hawkeye, umm Junior that is, let me know your status and route through the building."

***

"There is only one more robber in here." Ozymandias walks over to the gasping intruder and gently strokes the robber's hair before bringing his knee to his face a few times. "Prophetess, I am going to need an exit route that takes me by front of the building. I have bombs to collect. Mr. Washington doesn't pay me to get on camera, especially in Gotham."

***

"One robber, ah ah ah," Kate says in imitation of the Count. "No robbers, ah ah ah!" Clearing her throat, she hides a smile behind her scarf. "Clearing the offices here, Oracle," she reports back to surveillance. "It looks like that's all they brought to this fight."

***

"Acknowledged and good work team" Kates little "Count" impression has Oracle grinning from ear to ear, a little levity helps every now and then. Calculating the best route for Ozymandias, Oracle relays the details to him. "Thank you for your assistance, Ozymandias. Hawkeyes, what support do you need?" The EMT's are finally despatched and the team will hear the sirens in the background, growing louder "EMTs are on their way, I'm sure you can hear them."

***

Ozymandias is glad he is wearing a mask to hide his smile after a take a few moments to get the Sesame Street joke. It is not like he hangs around a lot of children. "Little me know Prophetess, when you want to talk. I will leave a radio open." Ozymandias smiles, "Hawkeye, I guess we are not even again, so I will see you around. I always repay my debts. Ozymandias reaches down and grabs the bombs underneath the car before making his way from the scene.

***

"Sounds good," Kate replies to Oracle's summary. "Hawkeye senior can meet them out there. I'm just going to go ahead and make sure things are all clear in here. Thanks for the assist, Oracle." Ozymandias' response gets another laugh from the archer as she peers into a bathroom. "Keeping track's got to be exhausting, but I'll keep an eye out for you Ozymandias," she chuckles. "Looking good in here. Oracle, I'm going to give you a call once some of this crazy is over."
