Times Square

Midtown Center is the site of one of the most famous commercial districts in the US. This, right here, is the reason they say the city never sleeps. This area pretty much doesn't. It's also the site of a growing financial presence, already a major influence in across the nation. Times Square is here, along with notable businesses and landmarks such as Stark Tower, the Baxter Building, the Daily Bugle and St. Patrick's Cathedral.

Now that Agent Bobbi Morse is stationed back in New York City, she's had to go out and get herself a new place to live. The small one bedroom, one bathroom co-op she scored is lovely, but bare at the moment. After spending a year and a half moving around the world constantly from mission to mission, she had gotten rid of all her belongings that weren't easy to pack and go. As such, she's out shopping, not something she gets to do often.

Bobbi was in Jensen-Lewis, a modern furnishings place near Times Square. Modern seems to be the way to go when you're living in 700 square feet, space planning is essential. She's managed to order a few pieces before bailing to hit the Starbucks nearby. The blonde is bundled up for the weather, with jeans and snow boots visible beneath her coat.

Moving through the store is a rather large man in a simple black hoodie with dark bluejeans. A simple outfit with the hood held in tight trying to cover up his more robotic features. Even with the rather low key clothing it's easy to spot him as something of an oddity. Be it the red glowing light peaking through the chest of his jacket, the fact that he looks like a bodybuilder on too many steroids or just the general stilted way he walks, it's almost impossible to hide himself in the crowds.

It doesn't help matters either that in his stance of trying not to make any eye contact the giant machine man almost bowls right into Bobbi. Tripping to the ground when he tries to move out of the way. His hoodie falling back to show off the chrome plated side of his face and bright red glowing eye.

*

Bobbi is nearly knocked over, but her reflexes are so honed from years as a martial artist and gymnast that she nimbly leaps back and spins, ready to face her attacker. Or not. She blinks down at the chrome-plated kid on the ground and arches a brow. "Aren't you supposed to be in intensive care at some private hospital?" she asks quietly, carefully not using his name to keep more attention from being drawn. She also steps in such a way as to block the view of his face from anyone around them. She offers him a hand.

*

Vic takes hold of the hand with a chrome plated hand of his own, the limb perfectly cool to the touch. There's an oddly detailed level of craftsmanship to it, more machine to him then man. "What, you uh must have me confused with someone else." A bit of stumbling to his own denial, as he comes back to a full stand the overt scale of him coming a bit more into focus, looking a few sizes too big for himself if that were even possible. "Names Cyborg, don't know any Victor."

*

The SHIELD agent is a surprisingly tall woman, and reaches, if he'll allow, to raise his hood again. "I didn't mention your name was Victor," Bobbi points out with a smirk. "Don't worry, I'm not going to out you, but I do need to ask what happened to you, 'Cyborg'. I'm a football fan and I have a really good memory." She tips her chin towards the Starbucks. "I'll buy you a cup and you can tell me a story."

*

There's a moment where it looks like the young man is going to interject but when he has a quick assurance that he's not about to be just ousted in the middle of a public place he falls back silent. His hands move up to his own head tightening the draw strings so his hod will have a harder time falling down, before they vanish into the pockets of his jacket. Without another word he starts moving over towards the starbucks his attention more towards the ground as he tries to give himself off as enough of a thug that people won't ask questions about what just happened.

*

"My name is Bobbi, and I promise you I'm not here to cause you any trouble." Really! She was there to buy a bed and some night tables! She moves to the counter and has her StarkPhone out for payment. "I'll take a venti white chocolate mocha and whatever the big guy wants," she quips to the barista.

*

Despite doing his best to avoid looking up just for the sake of stopping himself from being noticed Victor does light up a bit at the prospect of food being paid for by someone else. Although its rude he starts off "I'll take a Roasted Tomato & Mozzarella Panini, eight slow roasted ham & swiss, four Chicken Santa Fe Panini, and a diet soda" Just rattling off for a bit ordering enough food to feed six or seven people just to try and satisfy that hungry feeling he's got in the pit of his stomach from going five days now without eating.

*

Bobbi may or may not also be using said StarkPhone to snap a surreptitious photo of the half man-half machine to check against SHIELD records when she gets back to the Triskelion. "Well, someone has an appetite," she mutters. She hopes she can expense this. The barista hands over a little number thing for the table since he ordered a crapton of food. The agent takes it and leads the young man over. "So, I know about your accident. Did that private hospital do this to you?" she asks quietly.

*

"You want me to talk, you've got to grease the wheels a little," Cyborg mutters right back in return his pearly white teeth visibly opened into a bit of a smile, as he turns from the counter, hearing her comment. When they make it to their seat he sits himself down the reinforced metal chair mending and buckling a bit under his weight. "Could say that, STAR labs hooked me up with some…" He pauses trying to think of the right way to phrase it while the chair groans and creaks. "Upgrades…. after something ripped me to pieces, just another one of their experiments"

*

"So what happened to you wasn't an accident? What ripped you to pieces?" Bobbi asks, her spy instincts going to a motherly concerned place since he seems young, lost, and hurt. The creaking of the chair is noted, and she mentally marks down that it's not just his face and chest that have metal implants.

*

"Don't know," Victor offers plainly the workers trying their best behind the counter trying to keep up with the to be perfectly honest ridiculous for this time of day order. "All I know is now mom's dead, I'm a freak, and Dad's got the science police trying to drag me back for 'completion' whatever the hell that means." A few people staring at the fact that the chair keeps sinking.

*

"What happened to your mom?" Bobbi asks, looking genuinely concerned. "Victor, I may be able to get you somewhere safe. If this was done against your will, there are people who will protect you." She takes the risk and pulls out her SHIELD ID for him to look at it. "Running into you was coincidence, but I can get you to a safehouse and get people working on figuring out what's going on with STAR Labs. Experimenting on unwilling human subjects violates pretty much every law ever."

*

Victor shakes his head from one side to the other, looking down towards the rather small comparatively speaking identification. He's still not entirely what a S.H.I.E.L.D. is, having been swept up in the craze of just trying to do anything to piss off his parents, but he nods at it. "I'm trying to get in contact with this team, the uh" He pauses, trying to think as food is stacked up in the retrieval area. "Titans I think they're called, said they could take care of things," He's deliberately avoiding some of the more choice questions coming back to a stand the moment their number is called.

*

"That group has a good reputation. They will definitely help you. Do you have a place to stay until they get in touch with you?" Bobbi asks. It hurts her to even mention a group pf capes, but the kid is in trouble and needs help. She helps to carry over the pile of food and her meager coffee.

*

Victor's mostly silent as they collect the stack of food welcoming the stack of delicious 'delicious' starbucks 'food' for lack of having any other options. That said he doesn't exactly have that much of a problem carrying most of it back to the table, especially not with help. "Never heard of them before yesterday myself," He shakes his head a bit, just wolfing down food from the moment he sits down. For the sheer amount of food that he ordered it's almost all gone within seconds, as if instead of not eating in days he hadn't eaten in years. Devouring absolutely everything on the tray, and almost the tray itself. "Y-yeah I've got a place, why wouldn't I have a place, not like I've been sleeping at bus stops." A slight pause for him to take a chug of his diet soda. "I mean who does that, right?"

*

Bobbi sighs. She doesn't need spy training to spot that lie and a half. "Here." She pulls out a business card which she writes an address on, and passes it to him, along with a little money. "A bike courier will meet you at the address on the back, with the key to it. It's a safehouse. Leave the keys in the mailbox when you relocate with the Titans." She can't have him sleeping at bus stops and starving. The money should by him a couple dozen pizzas in the next couple days.

*

"Come on, it's fine you do-" Victor trails off a bit spotting the sheer amount of money compared to the nothing he's had for the last few days. "Well I- uh that is to say," The teen quickly pocketing the cash into the relatively small pocket of his jersey, with a bit of a smile. "If you insist, who am I to turn you down?" His toothy grin turning into a bit of a smirk as he's just managed to eat all of that food that he ordered half of the Starbucks just silently gawking at him, and his seemingly bottomless stomach. "Gift horse in the mouth and all that."

*

"I recommend ordering takeout. Eating like you're an entire football team by yourself attracts attention, Victor. If you want to stay off STAR Labs radar you need to be as inconspicuous as possible," Bobbi advises. "The safehouse isn't the Ritz, but it's secure."

*

Victor looks confused for a few moments placing the business card with the others before asking. "Uh come again, what's a Ritz?" That comment a bit of a sticking point for him as he finishes off the Diet Soda, placing it back down onto the table. "And are you trying to tell me to go on a diet? Because that's sort of what I've been doing these last few days, and it's not exactly doing much for me."

*

"I'm guessing your biochemisty has been changed significantly by what STAR did to you, and your metabolism has sped up considerably. What other things are you going to need, so I can make sure it's set up for you for the next few days? Would you mind if I come by to take some blood to figure out just what's been done?" Bobbi is a biochemist at heart. Heck, she got to take Cap's blood recently.

*

"I'm definitely going to need some sort of power source, running low on charge." Victor raising a single brow at the comment about taking blood "I'm not sure how I feel about needles" backing away a bit in his chair which only causes it to snap and crumple completely under his weight causing him to fall to the floor, and the barista on duty to let out a surprised scream at the sudden noise a few people jumping to their feet, as someone runs over asking "Ohmygodohmygodohmygod are you alright what happened?"

*

"I won't press for it, but if there are things you don't know about your condition, it's going to be hard for you to live normally," Bobbi points out. Then there is chair breakage. "Oops, seems like you got a bad chair in here. My friend here is a nice guy or he might sue." She helps him up again, sort of, and ushers him towards the door. "Get to the safe house. I'll make sure you have a power supply there. I have to go make arrangements."
