After her abortive attempt at a girls afternoon out and Jericho and Illyana's "gift", Zee is feeling at a loss, so she's headed to Gotham. At least in Gotham she's pretty much guaranteed of finding something to do… normally in the crime fighting sphere, or there is a rather good looking Druid she might trip over.

The Mistress of Magic is still wearing the cute little dress she was wearing earlier, stockings, high heel knee high boots and the collar, of course. She has donned a thick jacket in deference to the weather.

Walking down one of the streets in Old Gotham, Zee approaches a group of young men who are horsing around. As she draws closer, they look up and start cat calling to her, the suggestions along the lines of her joining them for a party or some type. The young magician looks at the group and smiles brightly… if they don't recognise her…

***

There's someone else on the rooftops tonight. Someone Zee would recognize. Someone who hasn't seen her in that cute little dress. Ordinarily toughs aren't his line. And he isn't watching them or watching for them. He's just watching at the moment, sharpening his blade on the roof and keeping an eye out for anyhting str- wait is that Zatanna?

***

The boys, really that's what they are, continue to catcall and start wolf whistling the young mage as she draws near. "C'mon sweetheart, come party with us." The boldest of the group steps forward and reaches for Zee's arm, obviously intending to detain her. The other boys fan out in front of her and two or three start to circle behind her, their taunts and insults growing more intense.

"Really, is this how you're going to do this? You could have just asked me out for coffee, you never know how that would have gone." Zee fixes the young man who is holding her arm with a flat look, glancing to his hand and then back to his face. A subtle warning to let her go.

***

The Fox recognizes Zee's voice. That's her alright. He takes a leap off the building, kicks a couple of times off opposing walls in an alley and drops to the floor, emerging behind Zee and in view of afew of the boys. The blade he'd been tending is his 'play time is over' blade. The claymore. He draws it off his back as he approaches. No, he wouldn't waste lethal force on something as simple as street thugs, but they don't know that.

***

The boys surrounding the one holding Zee's wrist scatter at Kanes arrival, causing the young mage to frown slightly. She doesn't break eye contact with the one holding her though. The couple that have fanned out behind her haven't seen his arrival, focussed on the Zee and the ring leader, encouraging him in his endeavours.

The ring leader might have detected that Zee isn't their usual prey and keeps his focus on her, missing The Fox's arrival, "C'mon luv, let's party. Take this as my invitation to coffee." and he tugs on her wrist.

Zee sighs deeply "Don't say you weren't warned" and steps into the young man holding her, turning her back to him and driving her elbow into his solar plexus as hard as she can.

***

Swords are instruments for maiming and killing… but if one is fighting people who don't know what they're doing - like these idiots - then some finesse becomes possible. The blade comes off Kane's shoulder and sweeps down low, flat first as the druid takes out one of the toughs with his back turned at the knee. There's a whistling sound in the air as he follows the motion through to slam the pommel into the other one's temple.

***

The boy holding Zees wrist lets out a grunt as her elbow connects, doubling over but not quite letting her go. Looking up to see The Fox take the other two out, she acknowledges his presence with a grim look.

Bringing her foot down on the thugs instep, Zee sends her closed fist back to connect with his nose, hard. The boy finally lets her loose as he goes to cover his nose and Zee steps out of the way, turning to face him. "I did warn you, didn't I?" she notes dryly.

The two boys The Fox has taken care are on the ground, one still conscious the other one not. "Want to tie them up, Fox? I'll call the police and let them do the rest." She's already produced her phone from somewhere and is starting to dial the number.

***

"No." The Fox says rather flatly. "Can't give them to the police right now." He shakes his head with a sigh. "I'll tell you why later."

Turning to the group he dips into his pack and brings out a charm made of animal bone. The druid crushes it and scatters the glowing dust to the wind as a quartet of wolves appear. "These wolves are going to escort you home…" The druid half growls. "And the next time I see you out here, I'm going to let them take care of you instead of doing it nicely myself. Now, off with you."

***

The three boys, all now consicous (one slightly dazed), glare at The Fox and then start as the Wolves appear. Any argument they might have been about to make, dies on their lips as the Wolves perform their assigned task.

Zee stops dialling and peers at The Fox curiously. "OK…" and grins as the Wolves appear. "Fancy you being here, Fox." the grin turns to a smile "Thank you for the assist. I suppose that's why the others ran off?"

***

Kane watches the wolves escort the thugs off and shakes his head before turning back to Zee. "Probably. People don't like large swords for some reason." He chuckles. "Fancy that. Nice to see you. Are you out on the town tonight?" He leaves off for the moment the explanation of why turning them over to the police is a bad idea.

***

Zee spares a glance for the boys and then turns back as Kane chuckles. "Not really. Was meant to be out with some friends today but things happened and I found myself at a loose end. Gothams as good as place as any to let off some steam" she shrugs "It's nice to see you too, Fox. I wondered if I might … " Levelling a politely curious look at The Fox, the young magician waits to see if he offers an explanation.

***

"You do seem to find me often enough. It's nice to see you too." The Fox glances curiously at the 'letting off steam' bit.

"Ah, the police, yes." He motions to Zee and turns to start walking. "I got word via the Dark and Broody One's network a few days back that he'd discovered what had been happening to the criminals the SRD had been taking. They're being experimented upon in secret labs." And that was all the criminals the vigilante community had been bringing in for some time.

***

Moving to walk beside The Fox, Zees eyes widen at the explanation. "That seems pretty serious and it makes sense why you let those boys go." She frowns a little "But still, do you think they won't do that again… the boys I mean." His curious look gets a small smile "All dressed and no place to go, really. If I didn't find something to do, there's always crime that needs fighting." she explains quietly.

***

"Oh they will." The Fox sighs. "And I'll have to set the wolves on them for instructive maulings." Which will at least be relatively safe from a 'don't involve the cops' standpoint. How many people are going to believe they were mauled by ghostly dogs. "But I'll deal with that another night and I did warn them."

The dressed up bit gets a chuckle. "Mmmmhmmm. I can see this. Well it's been a quiet night so I don't know how much crime there is to fight really."

***

"Instructive maulings…" Zee laughs brightly "And yes, you did warn them. I should have kicked their butts harder…" It annoys Zee that they did it and will likely try again. The raven haired mage looks sidewise at Kanes comment, looking quite pleased "Yeah, it's been quiet. I was just about to go and get something to eat and then decide what I wanted to do."

***

"Mmmm. Food sounds good. I do normally snack a bit on patrol. There tends to be quiet downtime inbetween moments of making sure monsters don't eat people." The druid smiles. "Though I'm not sure that cold chinese takeout sounds good to you."

***

Zee looks at The Fox, bemusedly "Are you offering me food, Fox?" Her nose wrinkles a little "Cold takeout doesn't really appeal, but I can always just go and grab some now… we can share it together if you like."

***

"I wouldn't mind that. Feeling a bit peckish, frankly." The Fox smiles. "And yes, I was offering you food."

***

The young magician laughs again "You have such a way with words, Fox" glancing up at him as they walk. "Offering a girl cold takeout is an interesting ploy." she chuckles "Haven't had that approach before. Where's a good place to get take out from then?"

***

"Well most of the places here are pretty good for chinese. I think the golden dragon up the street is still open and their takeout is pretty good." The Fox chuckles. "I was just offering what I had. Not like I can go into a place in costume and order, you know?"

***

"I guess it's the thought that counts then" Zee chuckles back and then rolls her eyes at The Fox "You keep saying that… " she sighs dramatically "Each time I ask you to have coffee, in fact." She grins mischievously and keeps walking "But I'm here tonight and I can go in and order." She could also call ahead, place the order and just pick it up…

***

"Well, provided I don't need to dash off I'm not at all opposed to your company while I eat. I'd welcome it, even." The Fox grins, nodding up. "I'm going to get off the street proper though. I assume you won't have any trouble finding me."

***

"I'm sure I can find you." Zee looks quite pleased at The Foxs words "Go on, get off the streets, I'll go pick up something and join you shortly. What's your preference?" The young magician smiles as she askes.

***

"Food." The Fox sheathes his sword and grins. Then he vanishes into the alley. Since he doesn't come out, presumably he's very shortly gone in that way that does rather seem common to all Gotham vigilantes. After a few minutes the druid finds himself on a large, wide rooftop several blocks away.

***

"Of course!" Zee mutters to herself as she finds the Golden Dragon and heads in to order. It takes her a bit longer than several minutes for the order to be filled and eventually, Zee's back out on the street. "Now… where did he go…. if it works for Jericho…" Focussing on The Fox, Zee teleports…. and appears on the rooftop behind him with a soft 'pop' sound. "Told you I could find you, Fox."

***

The druid is just sitting down on a concrete block that supports a large radio arial. When Zee ports in behind him he twists and chuckles. "That must be handy." He says motioning for her to make herself comfortable. "Smells good by the way. Sure you wanna hang out on a rooftop though. Gotham does have nightlife that isn't criminal you know. Dress'd look pretty good in a club."

***

"It's kinda helpful" she waves of the teleporting "when it works properly" she adds in an undertone as she moves to sit next to The Fox. Handing over the food, the young woman smiles "It does smell good…" there's chopsticks and plastic forks in the bag. "I might go clubbing when we're finished here, I'll see how I feel." It's still early enough that the Clubs are just winding up. "And thank you, I quite like the dress."

***

"You wear it well." The druid notes in that way that men who know how to compliment a woman without leering at her can. Sort of, you know, not like the thugs they just sent packing. "And this is quite delicious." He adds as he starts to eat.

***

Stretching her legs out in front of her and crossing the ankles, Zee looks at The Druid in mild amusement "Thank you again." She seems to be saying that a lot tonight. "Better than cold take out, at any rate I'd imagine." She starts eating as well.

***

"Very much so yes." The druid says as he eats, apparently well skilled in the use of chopsticks. "And the company is infinitely better than usual as well."

***

Zee elects to use a plastic fork… to avoid any potential food mishaps. "Are you always so smooth, Fox?" Zee is clearly amused, flattered but amused.

***

"Smooth?" Clearly he doesn't think so. There's a slight motion of his hood as he cants his head. "No… or not that I mean to be anyway. I just have basic manners. Mama Fox didn't raise a lout, y'know." He grins at that.

***

"It wasn't meant as a bad thing…" Zee gives a little laugh "I kinda like it. It's actually nice… the compliments you give." Certainly not the usual grade of 'compliments' she receives. "And you most certainly aren't a lout."

***

"I'm already a vigilante." The Fox's grin widens. "Adding lout to that would just be lowbrow. So I do try." Though clearly, if what she's seen is any indication, complimenting women is not something he particularly goes out of his way to do. "So where are you bound for the rest of the evening. It's quiet enough I can probably drop you somewhere and then get back to making sure the monsters stay in bed."

***

"I suppose it would be." Zee responds to the wide grin with a smile of her own. Looking out over Gotham, she shrugs a shoulder "Might go check out one of those clubs you mentioned… I did get all dressed up and all." Turning to look at The Fox, she cants her head "Drop me somewhere… I could just teleport, but…. that might be nice."

***

"Well yes." The fox produces another bone charm and crushes it to call his hawk. "But I figure that has to tire you eventually and if you're gonna be out on the town on weekend night you might want to have something in the tank as it were."

***

"Yeah it does a bit… " Zee nods at The Fox's surmise. "It's why I didn't use it back down on the street… Better to try the simple things first. It's getting better as I get older though… " she shrugs "More oomph, if you like." Grinning at The Fox, she tilts her head slightly "We travelling by Elk, tonight?"

***

The Fox indicates to his left as a space suddenly becomes full of newly landed glowing, horse sized hawk. "Nah. I've got a better way to get around tonight. Sometimes a flight is just the thing…" He grins and gets on. "It's perfectly safe."

***

The appearance of the hawk clearly impresses Zee and she spends a few minutes looking at it. As The Fox gets on, her face falls as she looks down at her dress and then back at the hawk. "Safe… maybe. Modest… possibly not." Chewing her bottom lip, she considers the options "Sidesaddle it's going to have to be…" If he'll allow it, she'll perch in front of him and probably hold on for dear life.

***

He will actually allow it. The Fox lets Zee settle in front of him, and once she's comfortable they're off in a rush of wings and climbing above easy visibility from the ground. "Right then." The masked man chuckles. "Where shall I take you?"

***

Settling in front of The Fox, Zee grins up at the masked face… "Anywhere you like?" she teases as the hawk climbs "Seriously, a club will be fine. Something with a little class to it… not a dive."

***

"Wouldn't dream of it. But believe it or not, I'm not exactly a name in the club scene." The expression behind the mask is grinning and somewhat wry. "So you may have to direct me."

***

Zee looks a little sheepish "Really, I wouldn't have guessed. I mean… you spend all night out." Teasing again as she thinks. "I've heard of a couple here in Gotham, not been to any though." and gives the address of one that she can remember. "I'll try that one. If I don't like it, I can go home."
