The Bus should, honestly, be pretty secure anywhere it goes. Unless, apparently, that place is Dulles International Airport. Really, of all the places to be sprung, the military hangar in Dulles? It's DC. It's the capital of the flippin' country! How does HYDRA even get there!

But that's where they are and they seem to be after May's charge. Maybe they heard she's on the market? Ooooooor maybe someone doesn't want her developing anti Portal technology with her best friend. Either way, that's alot of rounds from a very heavily armed team.

***

Fortunately, the kind of firearms MOST people carry around and use is too small a caliber to really damage the Bus. Unfortunately, they waited until the giant bird's loading ramp was lowered to start attacking. And May's cover is too far away from the jet's ramp controls to trigger them closed again. She's already told Jemma to get to cover and to STAY there, but she's got only the one 1911 pistol that Partisan made for her, and her last clip is already nearing empty. In other words, not good.

***

Simmons knows better than to question Mays barked instructions, she's found cover behind May and is hunkered down behind steel shelving, wondering what the heck is going on. She's noted the fact that May is down to her last clip and has only the one pistol… and is starting to wonder whether they'll be able to make the Bus in safety.

***

There's a stepping disk that opens on the bus and a little imp steps out. Followed shortly by a hacker holding a gunblade that is currently more gun than blade. He's wearing jeans and a short sleeve (unusual for him if he knows he's going to be out), his forearms are covered in silvery metal and his eyes are blazing as he lays down fire. "Both of you, into the disk. Quick!" This is… so not good. So very not good. How'd they track down the Bus and how'd they know who was on it? Or did they?

***

"No." Leave it to May to sass their rescuer. "Not leaving the Bus undefended. Get Simmons out of here, or get to the ramp controls and button her up. THEN I'll go." She raises her pistol, fires off a single shot, and by the unhappy yell from the other side she at the very least winged someone.

***

Simmons starts as the disk appears and the imp steps out… then blinks at Jericho. She doesn't argue, just steps onto the disk "I'll go, when May goes. Go and get the controls, Jericho." Her voice may quaver slightly, but the young woman maintains a facade of calm competence.

***

Jericho fires off another burst, swearing softly. There's a rummaging noise in the front of the cockpit before the hydraulic engines begin to haul the Bus' ramp up. "Okay, it's closing. Now get o-" He's cut off as K'nert takes a hit and goes down with a whine.

"K'NERT!" There's another flurry of gunfire from the hacker as the disk begins to close. "Get in there you two!"

***

Melinda May fires off two more shots then scrambles toward the disk. She sees K'nert take a hit and scoops the little imp up without so much as slowing down. Then she's American football tackling Simmons through the disk with K'nert as the oddly-shaped football and turning so she's the one that takes the brunt of the fall for both of them. Yeah, it's gonna hurt but it is what it is.

***

"Ow" and "omph" Simmons lands roughly on the other side with Agent May under her and K'Nert close to her face. Slowly she picks herself up from the ground, wincing a little as she does "Is he alright?" she eyes the imp carefully and offers May a hand to get up.

***

Jericho comes through last. They're in the Limbo Green and K'nert is definitely shot. The hacker takes him from May to have a look at him. "Mmmmm… through and through… he'll be okay, but he's going to need rest. Which… will complicate things…"

Jericho looks about the green and folds his blade away. His traces are already starting to turn red as they eat ambient magic and as the blade goes back into the case, the metal on his arms seems to shrink, pouring itself back into a series of rings that line his forearms like oddly metallic scars. "Okay… well… so the bad news is that K'nert isn't going to be up to getting you guys out. Which means we should probably get indoors…"

***

Melinda May lets Jemma stand, then waits for Jericho to collect the little demon before moving to stand herself and very pointedly ignoring her own aches and pains to dust herself off and check her pistol. That gets stowed, and the two butterfly swords are pulled from under her jacket. "Let's move, then." And the Bus had BETTER be okay when she gets back to it, or Hydra will have a LOT more to worry about from her.

***

Simmons just stares at Jericho as he speaks "So do you have another imp that can get us out?" That's the logical assumption to make, right? She looks to May as the woman speaks and will follow "Why do we have to get indoors?" She remembers when she was here with Fitz not so long ago "We were ok outside before."

***

"You weren't here that long before." Jericho points out as he motions for the other two to follow and starts to walk. "Safer in the Citadel. Less chance of meeting rogues or demons from beyond Illyana's sphere of influence." There is, looming ahead a castle. Sort of. It defies the rules of physics and architecture, built with seemingly no rhyme or reason, but it's there.

"I don't have another imp like that. I've actually never encountered another demon that could do what K'nert can. So… no, you're stuck here, we all are, until Illyana gets back. Not so bad fore me, I'm rather at home here. You two on the other hand…" The hacker shrugs. "Well, indoors is safer." He leaves it at that for the moment. "So, what was that back there. I got a ping on HYDRA's network and came over as soon as I could. What were you transporting?"

***

Melinda May says, "We'd already delivered our cargo to Quantico and were about to return to base." She tosses a glance at Simmons, though if she's silently telling the biochemist that's okay (or that it's NOT okay) to divulge information to Trent is kind of … difficult to determine."

***

Simmons catches May look and says nothing about the cargo. "Oh. OK." She sounds a little lost about this staying in Limbo thing and stares at the castle as it appears. "Indoors, safer, right." she bobs her head as she speaks. "When are you expecting Illyana back?" Another logical question.

***

"Er, sorry, before I answer that, will you guys stop thinking about what's on the other side? It's making Limbo all wonky and we'll get to the Citadel much quicker if I don't have to fight you." Which he can. Jericho's more connected to Limbo than either of them, but it's slowing him up.

That look from May get's a curious look from Trent and then he glances back to Simmons and shrugs. "Well… so she's probably at classes… or work. So I'm guessing for or five hours. Er, earthside, that is."

K'nert hisses weakly from below. "Do I get their livers if they start turning, human?" It's a good thing neither Simmons nor May speak demonic.

"No, no livers. The way you carry on about them you'd think you didn't have one."

***

Melinda May WASN'T thinking about the inside of the citadel until Trent mentioned it, but now she intentionally focuses on their surroundings, staying alert for anyone or anything approaching them as they walk.

***

Jerichos' statement has Simmons blinking and she tries very hard not to think of the other side "Four or five hours? Oh dear. And the fact that you said earthside, means that time here flows differently, doesn't it?" The demonic conversation with K'Nert has the Brit frowning again "I'd ask but you'll probably tell me I don't want to know."

***

"See, you're learning." Jericho grins. As May focuses on the area around them, somehow, improbably, the Citadel seems closer every time either of them look up at it. "Four or five minutes earthside. Time runs faster here so… you might be in for something of a wait. Illyana went missing for a year when she was six. A year earthside. When she came back, she was fourteen, if that gives you any idea of how much time dialates around here."

***

Melinda May tries to do a bit of mental math, then very pointedly stops trying. Focus on watching for threats. Way, way easier. "You had better be exaggerating." Because if that's the case, May is stuck here for the rest of her life. Probably very literally.

***

Jemmas eyes are as wide as saucers… both with the Citadel getting closer quickly and at the time paradox thing. "But… we have work that needs to be finished." that seems to be the most important thing to the young the scientist.

***

"Well like I said, four or five hours. Earthside. And Illyana might be able to send you back closer to when you left. Buuuuuut it'll probably be a day or so on this end, maybe two or three before she gets here to send you back less than five hours later. Follow?" The hacker shrugs as K'nert hisses again.

"You humans… I don't think they're really going to get it."

"That's enough out of you." Jericho replies in demonic before glancing back and adding for the others in english. "May, stop looking so worried. If it really were years and years you'd know. It'll feel like it. Kind of. Time internally in Limbo's a bit odd… and there's no sun."

By now Jericho is leading them into the courtyard where a number of demons have gathered on the battlements to watch. "Oh boy…"

***

"Variable time dilation. Understood." May doesn't truly GROK it, but she doesn't have to. She just has to know that they'll be here for just a matter of days, and not the YEARS that her guesstimating was trying to say. She accepts it and moves on. However, those demons on the battlements… She still has her butterfly swords in her hands, and she oiled them just recently.

***

Jemma does mostly grasp the concept but that doesn't stop her worrying "But I've got tests running in my lab. They're time dependant and I just have to be there!" She's so concerned about that fact that it takes her several minutes to register there are demons on the battlement and that Jericho and May are concerned. Looking between the two of them, Jemma stands behind May but out of the way and finally falls silent.

***

May's blades are definitely a deterrant. Or at least, enough of one that they get into the throne room unmolested. The throne room itself is a long collonaded hall with a raised dias and a stone throne at one end. There seems to be some bloodstains running down the front where the armrests are. Perhaps slightly more worryingly there seem to be a lot of demons here and they're pressing in from behind and gathering about the sides as well. The hacker slows and finally stops to look at the very, very large assembly of Limbo denizens come to see the humans. There's a great deal of hissing and growling seemingly among themselves.

***

"Simmons. Left jacket pocket. There's a drink flask in there. But be very careful." No doubt there are other things in said pocket as well. Sharp things. Dangerous things. She watches the demons move to surround them on all sides, bracing to have to fight and protect the biochemist at the same time.

***

The hissing and growling get Jemma's attention and she pales as they enter the throne room. "So many" she says quietly to herself.

Simmons is somewhat aware that the contents of Mays pockets are typically lethal. She's seen what the woman can produce at a moments notice. Reaching carefully into the left jacket pocket, her fingers close around the drink flask and she removes it slowly "Got it Agent May." The young biochemist eyes the flask "Can I drink it?" She might need a good stiff drink about now.

***

There are… indeed, so many. Illyana calls them her 'doritos army'. Crunch all you like, she says, she's got more. And it really does seem to be the case. There must be hundreds of demons in here. The blades May's holding are keeping them back beyond arms reach, but Jericho's eyes have definitely narrowed and he shifts K'nert to one hand as he watches the crowd.

Inevitably one of the smaller ones moves past him, head outstretched to sniff at May. The hackers' blade comes out in an instant and he brings it down hard across the demon's back, opening it up. It yelps and draws back sharply. The others, looking rather worried now at May and Simmons, also pull back. All except for one who seems to think it might be able to get a good sniff on Jemma's foot.

***

May would roll her eyes at Jemma if this weren't so tense a situation right now. "If you want. But maybe better to save it to use on them. It's holy water." She swings one of her blades out almost as fast as Jericho does, though hers is aimed to smack the flat against the snout of the demon who dares to try and sniff at her. She swats at the one trying to sniff toward Jemma similarly, a viper-strike fast blade shiny with oil from a synagogue in Jerusalem.

***

Jemma's eyes widen as Jericho's blade lays open the demons back and she nods slowly at Mays words. "Oh… of course." Opening the flask, Jemma wields it, holding it at the ready just in case she needs it.

She's just about to move her foot out of the demons sniffing reach when Mays blade flashes, causing her to stifle a startled yelp. Oh joy! What more could a young scientist want?

***

As the demons draw back Jericho steps forward, eyes flashing. He speaks in that odd twisting tongue, the ones the demons seem to use when they're not hissing and growling… which also seems to be words. "Okay. Pay attention. These two…" His blade comes up to gesture to May and Simmons. "… are mine. So back off." Beat. "Now."

Between those words (important words) and the evident ability to cause grave harm, the crowd in the throne room starts to disperse. For some reason that may or may not be encouraging, K'enrt is weakly snickering as Jericho motions to the other two.

"Come on. I'll take you up to the music room. Safe there.

***

Melinda May watches the crowd slowly disperse, blades still ready. It's K'nert's less than encouraging snicker that gets her attention as they head to the music room. "The more you laugh at us, pipsqueak, the less ice cream I have in my freezer." She's still keeping at least half an eye on Jemma, knowing she's not a combat-ready agent even if she's done quite well in field missions in the past.

***

"Pipsqueak?" Jemma boggles at Mays talking to K'Nert "Icecream? I'm so confused." Not a common state of being for Simmons. But she's noted the crowd pulling back and will follow Jericho and May with alacrity.

***

K'nert eyes May and says… something. "Don't make a thing of it. You're hurt and she could kick your ass without killing you." Jericho says as they move through the… it's really a rather gothic castle. Stone everything. Guttering torches on walls. Tapestries depicting hell scenes. All rather… well, hellish until they arrive up several flights of stairs and the hacker opens a set of double doors near the end of a hallway to reveal…

It's a large room. With a polished black grand piano in the middle of it. There's actual rugs down instead of furs and the walls are hung with art that's is still a bit fantastical, but more given over to knights and castles. Several wide windows look out over the green and the place is lit with actual natural light and lamps rather than guttering torches. "Okay. Don't be too alarmed if more demons show up. Are either of you hurt or hungry from that fight?"

Jericho sets K'nert down on the bench and then has a seat himself… and starts to play. "Make yourselves comfortable. Might be here a bit."

***

Melinda May stows her blades under her jacket again once the music room doors are closed, and finally has mercy on Jemma by explaining about K'nert while taking her flask back to recap and return to her pocket. "That pipsqueak there is K'nert. He's the one that makes the portals for Trent, and he likes ice cream. A lot."

***

Simmons just nods along, like a demon that likes ice cream makes perfect sense. Of course it does, right? Looking to K'Nert, the biochemist frowns "Does he need any medical help? I mean…" she takes a big deep breath "I might be able to do something to help him heal faster."

***

"I don't particularly reccomend trying…" Mostly because he's confident K'nert will recover on his own and he doesn't know if the little imp might get upset. He's in charge of course but there's no need to make things bad if they don't have to be.

The song, not that either May or Simmons are horribly likely to know, is 'American Noise' by 'Skillet'. No words, just the piano. It's oddly soothing music for a place like Limbo and as Jericho plays demons start to appear again, peering in from outside, gathering at the windows and peeking out from behind the furnishings. Unlike last time though, they really do seem to just be fascinated by the music.

"I know you two must have questions. And we're safe enough here. Just bear in mind most demons can understand english even if they can't speak it."

***

Melinda May looks around, then finds a place to sit that's completely demon-free. "I'll let Simmons do the asking." She's almost positive that the biochemist is just chock full o' questions.

***

Simmons shrugs at Jericho's answer, she hadn't expected anything different really. Following Mays example, Jemma finds a corner in which to sit "Maybe… the last time we were here, Fitz and I, I asked a whole heap of questions." and managed to embarrass herself in the process. Glancing up at the demons interest in the music, she shakes her head in wonder. "So… you never really did explain Limbo… and with the time dilation issue, I'm quite concerned. It seems to me it sits between everything, but might actually be nowhere at all…. "

***

"Limbo sets between everything yes, and doesn't as best I understand conform to the standard theories of alternate dimensons." Jericho nods as he plays and the demons settle in to watch and listen. Three… two… one for all and all for one…

"The time dialation isn't consistent. Like many things in Limbo there's some wiggle room and some responsiveness to the will of the person who rules here."

The hacker glances over at May and Jemma. "Illyana is the near absolute ruler of this realm and that's more than just political, if you take my meaning."

***

Melinda May alertly watches each and every demon that arrives, and is briefly amazed to see that they've all come in here to listen to Trent play the piano. Will wonders never cease. "I don't think you've ever really explained to me how you fit into all of this." Well, she's guessed at bits of it but she knows better than to rely on guesswork.

***

Jemma watches too, in amazement, glancing at Jericho as he explains Limbo. Mays question gets a surprised glance and the biochemist waits for his answer. She's already embarrassed herself once.

***

"Me?" Jericho thinks a bit for an answer that will explain the situation and that they'll understand. Admittedly, he's not sure he understands everything about it himself but he's got the basics down. "I tend the Green, which is possibly connected to Illyana's soul and humanity." Which is one reason he puts so much effort into it. "I'm also… directly connected to Illyana herself. Metaphysically. The term 'Familiar' is the one most easily used."

That implies a lot of things both to the educated and educated. Not all of which are accurate. It's also got components to it that others might not necessarily think of. "So I have a… mmm… place in the hiearchy here." A rather high one so long as he maintains it. And he's gotten good at understanding the demonic mind and motivations.

***

Melinda May nods slowly, crossing her arms. "Clearly." Could be worse, though. It's very obviously a good enough place in the hierarchy to afford them all a bit of protection. "Explain why K'nert was laughing, then."

***

A circle of light opens against one wall that has the demons that were hiding out near that spot skittering away just a bit. No one wants to be underfoot when the blonde sorceress steps through. Which she does, a moment later. Jeans, blouse, sneakers and backpack, she looks as out of place as the music Jericho plays.

The circle winks out behind her, and one of the demons comes up from the side, leaning against one leg as taloned fingers close about her calf. Illyana drops a hand to the scaly critters head to stroke it absently as she blinks. "Huh. Company." She looks down at the demon, her tone wry. "I hope someone set the table for guests."

***

Jemma opens her mouth to ask a question, shakes her head and closes it again. And looks very pleased that she has when Illyana arrives. "Hello Illyana" she can still remember her manners.

***

Jericho gets the feeling that he's gotten a reprieve. Perhaps he can answer that question later. He gets the feeling May's going to make him at some point. Here might have been… slightly awkward. Especially with Jemma sitting there. Fortunately Illyana seems to be home early.

"Hey Illyana." Jericho looks over and his eyes quite literally light up when he does. "K'nert got hurt helping me get them out of a bit of trouble." Which should, all at once, explain how they got here, why they're in the music room and why he hasn't sent them back to New York already. "I was just going to, you know, have them here until you popped back around."

The little imp is curled up beside Jericho, favoring his right side. There's a through and through hole on his left and while he's clearly not dying, he's also clearly hurt.

***

Melinda May goes on the alert when the stepping disk appears, but then is mollified by Illyana stepping through. So much so that she doesn't even register that the blonde's attire might seem out of place here. She looks over at Jericho briefly, noticing how he very conveniently used Illyana's arrival to avoid answering her question. She'll get an answer from him eventually.

***

Illyana ahhhs quietly, her touch falling away from the demon as she walks over to Jericho and slips her hand through his hair in a gesture that is eerily reminescent of that used on the demon just a moment ago. She looks down at K'nert as the imp tries his best to look pathetic. She just arches a brow at his attempt at sympathy.

Looking back to the others she nods. "Well, let's get you back before you *are* stuck eating the food here. It uh, an aquired taste." She notes dryly. She raises a hand and another two-dimensional disk wreathed in eldritch flames opens in the middle of the room and she looks over to Jericho. "Speaking of, I'm hungry."

***

Picking herself up from the corner and smoothing her clothes out, Jemma watches K'Nert and then looks to May. She's noticed the question wasn't answered, and maybe she doesn't want to know. She'll move only when May says it's safe to "Getting home would be good. My research…" yes, she's still worried about those tests she left running in her laboratory.

***

"Cooking or takeout?" May knows that Jericho cooks and even cooks decently well. Jemma… has no real reason to know that. Illyana on the other hand… is quite well acquianted.

K'nert is… not cute. Jericho is rather familiar with his occasional attempts to look pathetic. He doesn't do it often (not really his style) or consequently well. But he tries every once in a while. Let's be honest. Illyana sympathy, if it could be gotten, would be better than Jericho sympathy.

"Either way we should probably get these two back so they can report the attack on the Bus."

***

"Get us back to the Bus safely, and I'll cook." That is likely a word that Jemma has NEVER heard from May before. Standing as well, she looks ready to move the moment either Jericho or Illyana say so.

***

"The Bus?" Illyana after all, is not terribly familiar with May. Or SHIELD. Going 'back where they came from' though, well, that she can extrapolate. Her other hand comes up and, like a hologram, an image appears in the air in front of her. It's the trio of humans (plus K'nert) at like, half-inch scale with the scene running in fast forward. Only in reverse. Fast back? It gets back to their exit and she frowns over at Jericho. "If I put you guys back, you're going right back into the firefight. You want me to yank out the shooters first?"

***

"Yes" Jemma speaks and snaps her mouth shut. She was just too stunned by what she had seen in Illyana's hand. "Um well, what I mean, is that's up to Agent May or Jericho." Looking at May, Simmons looks a little sheepish and falls silent again.

***

Cue the time Dialation. Illyana's back early which means hardly any time at all has passed on Earth. It's possible, despite the fact that they've likely been her an hour or three, that only seconds have passed back on the other end. Jericho's used to it, in fact uses it to his advantage sometimes. But it can be a bit of a mind trip.

"That might be a good idea." He glances over to May and Jemma. "Especially considering the fact that I'm relatively certain one or both of these two was the target."

***

Melinda May nods in agreement with Jemma and Jericho. "We'd appreciate it." That little palm-top instant reply thing is really pretty handy. Though being reminded that one of them was the target is … sobering. "Simmons, I want you on the horn back to HQ the moment we're back." Also, there's no telling what kind of damage the Bus took during that fight. She's really hoping minimal, or the giant bird is stuck in Dulles of all horrid places until the repairs can be completed.

***

"Do you want them anywhere in particular?" The display in Illyana's hand has paused and reorients as she searches for the positions of the shooters. "Or shall I just toss them out into the badlands?" Which would be the area of Limbo beyond the Green. Still under Illyana's control and influence… a lot more prone to nastiness eating you. Her other hand comes up, finger pointed down and she traces a circle. The stepping disk, standing on-edge in the music room turns in time with her finger a full 360 degrees.

Illyana's question about what to do with the shooters gets a few comments from the demon peanut gallery. Mostly hopeful that she'll drop them out in the courtyard. K'nert claims the livers.

***

Jemma's head snaps up and she looks at the peanut gallery and its chorus and then back to May. "Yes, Agent May." She's already got her comms earpiece in place, ready for when they step clear of the disc. She'll happily ignore the fact that she might have been the target, her laboratory beckons.

***

Jericho snickers a bit at the peanut gallery. "Might want to ask questions to one. The rest I don't really care about the rest." There's a hard edge to the hacker's voice. May and Illyana both are familiar with his opinions on HYDRA, especially since they've started targetting his friends for occult murder and worse.

That won't take but a moment, whatever Illyana decides to do. Jericho stands and makes ready to go, picking K'nert up.

***

The image in Illyana's hands fast fowards now, to where the group bailed out of the Bus and into Limbo. Then, more disks appear at the feet of the shooters and they fall through, disappearing. Then she closes her hands, the image winking out and nods to the disk. "There's no place like home." She tells them dryly before turning to one of the larger demons. "Let S'ym know we have company in the dungeons. I need one alive and able to talk when I come looking." It might be Jericho that comes looking, but he counts as part of her.

***

Melinda May nods. "Keeping one for interrogation would be useful." Then maybe they can find out if it was Simmons or May that they were after. When Jericho picks K'nert up again she seems to debate something for a moment, then pulls her sash whip, removes the weights from the ends to return to her pocket, and starts tying a group of interlocking knots into the silk fabric. It takes her only a few moments, but then she has a K'nert-sized black silk hammock-like sling arrangement that looks like Trent can wear it to carry the little demon and keep his hands free. It's like a baby-sling, but it's a little-ice-cream-loving-Henson-reject-demon-sling. "Here."

***

If Agent May, Jericho and Illyana weren't quite so overwhelming in presence, Simmons might actually 'awwww' at the creation of the Hensen-Sling, but she wisely keeps quiet, her eyes wide as saucers at how easily Illyana seemed to deal with the shooters. Stepping towards the disc, she still hesitates till May takes up position… she does not want to be first through… thank you very much.

***

Jericho nods his thanks to May. He doesn't actually say thanks which is a bit unlike him but then… being in Limbo with him has made him seem perhaps a bit unlike him. Not generally one for casual violence on earth, for one, and his approach with demons is certainly… well it's not unique. It's a lot like Illyana's. But you have to know her well to know that. Either way, K'nert gets put in the sling and given a look that says if he scratches, there will be wing-battings.

"Shall we, then?"

***

Illyana seems to pick up on Jemma's reluctance to lead the way, cold blue eyes glinting in amusement her way before the blonde strides for the disk that will put them all back in the main area of the Bus. Shhh. Don't tell SHIELD command she was in a secured area.

***

Melinda May nods to Illyana then steps through the disk after her to lead the way for Simmons. She actually could not care less if Illyana is now aboard the Bus, the woman is on a SHIELD affiliated team so Hill can scream all she wants. And Trent is here under her recognizance, so Hill can scream about that all she wants, too. May answers directly to Fury about Trent and no one else.

As soon as they're all aboard, she moves to the closest computer terminal — in the operations part of the bird's main level here — and starts it up to begin the internal diagnostics on the plane's systems. Her eyes flick over to Simmons to remind her to call in to HQ. "Trent, Rasputin, make yourselves at home. If she's able to fly, we'll be on our way in about an hour. If not, she's grounded. Either way, I'll have time to cook in the galley here if you're okay with that." It won't be five star restaurant amazing, but it'll be cooked from fresh ingredients that May stocks herself in the galley's cooler area.

***

Illyana can be amused as she likes, Jemma isn't a /rea/ field agent and knows better. Following May through the stepping disk, she's already activating the comms unit to report in, assuring the other end that they'll provide a full diagnostic assessment as soon as they can.

Mays comment about cooking gets a wide eye, curious, look from Simmons. May was right, that's not something the biochemist would have ever expected to hear from the rather serious agent.

***

Jericho gives Illyana a grin and a deferential gesture before following her through and letting the disk close behind them. Ordinarily he'd be nervous about being on SHIELD ground but the truth is he views the Bus as May's sanctum more than SHIELDs. And hey, if she's going to cook… well, it'll be delicious. And also amusing to watch May and Simmons deal with Illyana during dinner. Should be a fun night all around.

The disk closes, leaving just the gleaming piano in a room once again apparently devoid of demons.
