"Good." And yes, May means it. "I don't do coddling well." She crosses her arms, though whether that's a gesture of habit or a reaction to the cold isn't easy to determine. Now, on to business. "Has Oracle caught you up on the recent events around here?" She turns to look out away from the rooftop again as well as up toward the heavy cloud cover that really isn't normal at all, even for this time of year.

***

Robin nods. "The Birdwatcher. HYDRA. Yes, I've been briefed. I know there was something going on in town yesterday, but I wasn't able to get there and haven't heard the details on that yet. Otherwise, I think I'm pretty much caught up." He keeps to himself his opinions of the new Bat-associate he's been introduced to, and his feeling that they could have predicted that Damian would go bad. No need to rub those things in when he knows that Oracle is listening in.

***

Melinda May pauses and turns to look at Robin again. So Oracle hasn't been telling her everything. Her eyes narrow at the young man. "Tell me everything you know about the Birdwatcher." She's almost positive that it won't be anywhere near SHIELD juristiction, but that honestly means jack to her. She's not here because Fury sent her.

***

"That's something you should ask Oracle about," Robin replies smoothly. "No offense intended, Agent May, but we're used to handling threats to Gotham and our own people within the family. So far as I know, the Birdwatcher is not a concern for SHIELD." He pauses and then adds, "Oracle also mentioned ongoing problems with the SRD. And we discussed a few ideas about what to do with that group."

***

"An inconvenience at the moment, May" Oracles voice filters through the comms unit. "Seems I may have an avid admirer." The redhead shakes her head "So avid, in fact, they tried several avenues just to get my attention." A dangerous type of admirer though "Seems they think they are helping me… described themselves as my 'guardian angel'." Gothams Information Goddess grimaces "I've got some leads on the person that I'm chasing down."

***

UGH. Stalkers are the worst. She had to deal with one back in '94, and that was probably one of the most frustrating cases of her career. Not difficult, just frustrating. "Keep me posted, Oracle. I can run interference if you want." Not need, mind you. Want.

May's attention turns back to Robin. "What sort of problems with the SRD?"

***

"The disappearance of people we bring in," Robin replies, and this, May is likely to note, does bother him a great deal. "Oracle and Nightwing told me that people are vanishing, and we can't track their whereabouts after the SRD takes them into custody. We want to know what's happening to them."

***

"Batmans latest update on that came in, Robin." Oracle speaks once more, she'll have to ensure the Boy Wonder still has access to those channels on the Batcomputer "It seems those the vigilantes bring in are being redirected to test a new compound. CC-CV1. It augments strength, co-ordination, reaction times, reflexes and makes those who have ingested it suspetible to coercion and domination." The redhead looks extremely grim "We need evidence tying this to Hugo Strange and the SRD more tightly, but we know WHERE the criminals are ending now and WHY." This one… is going to be messy.

***

Melinda May frowns openly at that. "That kind of operation can't be small. Standard human-testing lab would require at least a crew of ten, with matching security complement. Also, either the cover of being one ina huge group, or sufficiently isolated that no one would thinkg to look there." She then looks at Robin. "How about attempts to track anyone that goes into SRD custody?"

***

"Robin, there's a burglary in progress one block from you. Please attend." Oracle provides the location to the Boy Wonder "Sorry, May. I need him on the job." she apologises before continuing "Now… SRD… we're running several angles there. It's not a small operation and it's expensive. We're following the money. Nightwing and Robin suggested tracking those who end up in custody, we're running down a couple of likely's who may work with us on that. Making sure we get the right type of criminal, so to speak." Not one that would end up selling the Bats out.

Robin gives May a quick nod of his head and disappears into the night, following up Oracles request.

***

Melinda May nods back to Robin and lets him leave. In fact she waits until she's sure he's out of earshot before adding quietly, "How's he really doing?" She is THIS close to offering to go help with that robbery, but doesn't want to make the kid think she doubts his ability.

***

"From what I can see… well, May." Oracle has no illusions that May is better trained in that type of assessment than she is. "He's definitely turned over a new leaf though. It is …. refreshing." The teen angst she had been dealing with a few months ago, seems to have disappeared.

***

"Good." Worries assuaged, May moves to climb back down from the rooftop so she can start heading back to NYC. "Oh, and Oracle. I left a Guido in an alleyway about three blocks from here. He's chained to a dumpster. Literally."

***

"On it, May" Oracle smiles at the image and despatches GPD. "I'll let you know if you can help with the Birdwatcher." She's no idea where that will lead "And thank you for checking in on the little bird." Watching Mays avatar as it moves across her screen, for a few minutes, Oracle then turns her attention back to the rest of the teams in the field.
