Jericho-lapdog, coupled with the events of the past few days has left Zee feeling out of her depth in some regards. Having slept so long in Limbo, she's not ready to sleep again just yet. She really can't settle. Seeking some distraction, the young magician has teleported to Gotham and is now walking near the Lighthouse in South Point. Wearing figure hugging blue jeans, a cutesy t-shirt and bomber jacket, she's traded the knee high boots she usually wears for a pair of sturdy hikers. The diamond encrusted collar at her throat. Every so often, her hand raises to touch the collar and falters there… she's obviously deep in thought about something.

***

"It is not often that I find someone out here." Says a masked figure on a warehouse rooftop behind here. "I'd have a care too. Draugr like this particular area. It gets a bit ugly, sometimes."

***

Zee startles at the the words, spinning around and peering into the darkness, her hand dropping from the collar as she does "Hello there, Fox" not quite her usual bright and breezy, nearly teasing, greeting "I've seen a bit of ugly in the last few weeks… that Hydra we fought was just one of them."

***

"With everything that's been on the news, I don't doubt it." The druid hops down from the roof and starts to saunter over. "Want to tell me about it?"

***

Zee shrugs and watches as he approaches. "Maybe, some of it is a little silly really." Finding a piece of wall to lean her back against, Zee chews her bottom lip as she thinks. "Let me start with an attempted abduction from a charity gala, I was performing at…." The young magician explains how that went down and the HYDRA involvement there.

***

Kane listens for the long while that it takes to explain. "That does sound like quite a rough couple of weeks. Are you alright?" Clearly she's somewhat disturbed if not distraught. What she'd be doing out here is a good question.

***

Zee smiles slightly and touches that collar again "Yeah, I'm doing alright… I …." she looks at Kane and shakes her head "might have miscalculated something…." She's not sure though and it's clearly weighing on her. "Were you patrolling out here?" a change of subject, focussing back on him.

***

"Yes." The druid doesn't have much reason to be out at odd parts of the city at night otherwise. "What is it that you think you have miscalculated? And how bad is it going to get?"

***

"That's the thing" Zee shifts her balance, stretching her legs out to cross one ankle over the other. "I don't know if it's really bad. It might sound bad on the surface… but" her brow furrows. "I told you about the collar right? What I thought it meant." She's hedging slightly…

***

"You mentioned, yes." The druid's familiar with all manner of magical rites so he hadn't really commented. It hand't seemed too bad when she mentioned it. Clearly it hadn't been bothering her.

***

"What if it indicated a bargain, I'd made…" Zee frowns "a payment, to be considered one of Illyana's?" Blowing out a slow breath, she shakes her head "I'm still confused by it all. How I was so careless and what it really means." It certainly saved her the other night… not that she'll admit that to Jericho or Illyana… and who know where else that might come in handy…

***

"Is it a bargain you regret making?" Kane shrugs. "Our kind make a lot of deals Zee. The only real question to ask when it's all said and done is 'would you do it again'?"

***

Zee cants her head and looks thoughtfully at the Druid "An interesting way of looking at things…" it's obviously resonated somehow. "I don't regret it, right now… I may sometime in the future, though." It's the young womans turn to shrug "I might do it again… it's too early to tell, really."

***

"Then I would not worry about it at present." It does not sound like Zee is being hurt so the Fox does not press any further. "Though clearly it was not what yo uthought it was."

***

"No, it wasn't… and it may be a cheap lesson to learn" Zee can't believe she was so foolish "And I'll try not to worry about it, for now." Straighten, the Mistress of Magic looks at Kane, her normally sunny disposition starting to show through again "You give good advice, Fox." and she nudges his shoulder with her closed fist… "I'm glad, I came out this way tonight."

***

"Sometimes." The Fox chuckles. "So what now then. Is this the part where you dash home with your newfound wisdom? Or are you going to stay here a while yet?"

***

"That all depends on you, Fox." Zee is definitely feeling more like herself and she smiles mischieviously up at Kane "Would you like some company?" She'll happily stay and keep him company "I really would like to get to know you better…"

***

"I could do with some company." The Fox knows that Zee understands that company in this context also means backup. It's patrol after all. They may well get into trouble.

***

"Just for the backup and support, Fox?" Zee is definitely teasing "Lead on Fox, let's finish your patrol and talk while we do…" She doesn't mind getting into trouble, it makes life a little more fun.

***

Trouble comes in all forms. The Fox can find most of them on any given night. He does live up to his name in many ways, after all.
