This is not Wanda's kind of neighbourhood. Wealthy. Fancy old places. River villas. Wanda is looking very out of place in her ragged clothes and furtive glances. She couldn't look more like she is casing places to rob if she tried. The redhead slips into the shadows of a line of trees, trying to hide from the headlights of passing cars on this cold, cold evening. Her attention is on a Victorian era building across the road from her viewing place. She mumbles to herself a moment before nodding in agreement with some unheard voice.

***

Bobby has, for once, actually seen Wanda before she's seen him. And he slips in closer to get a look at her. Samantha's friend, often wandering around. He wonders if anyone's bohering to take care of her. And if she wants it. "Wanda?" He whispers in the night. "Wanda? What are you doing?"

***

Wanda's reply is to hold up a silencing finger in Bobby's direction…her eyes still on the house across the road. Then the finger wiggles before drawing a shape through the air that glows red for a moment. And then the mutant has turned her head to smile broadly at the new arrival. "Bobby!" She glances around. "Is Nyx here?" A pause before. "Doesn't matter. People are rich here. Did you know that? Oh…do you live here?" Wanda looks a bit guilty for a moment before her eyes wander the street once more. "Do you want to buy me a coffee?"

***

"No, yes, no and yes." Bobby answers Wanda's questions in order with a smile. "I live back in M-Town." He's paid well, could live in a nicer spot but between his old apartment and his room at the Nest, he hardly needs it. "Is everything okay?" The ice nerd offers Wanda an arm as he indicates the direction of the nearest coffee shop. The last time he'd seen her, well last few times, trouble had been brewing and it hadn't been French Roast.

***

"Okay? No, nothing is ever okay" Wanda sighs before placing a curious hand on the offered arm. "It's either really bad or…wonderful!!" The last word screamed to the heavens…and a light turns on in a bedroom overlooking the street. "Oops" she giggles before she starts for the cafe. "I'll tell you over coffee" she whispers before adding. "That house I was looking at. Is it looking back?" The house is dark and there is no sign of life.

***

Bobby glances behind them as they walk. Starbucks is a couple blocks up. No… the house seems to be just a house. "If it is, I can't see it." Sometimes Wanda sees things no one else can. Which doesn't mean they're not real. Bobby has learned that the hard way.

"Wonderful, mmmm? That does sound nice for a change. Oh, what kind of coffee do you like?" The ice nerd holds the door open when they finally get there. "And, if you don't mind my asking, where have you been staying?"

***

"Things aren't wonderful" Wanda corrects before nodding slowly about the house. "We need a table where I can watch it" she whispers, "In case it gets up and runs away." A long sigh at her 'responsibilities' before she slips into the Starbucks…to be immediately stared at by the staff. She probably smells a bit since it's easiest to hide from demons by sleeping in garbage. "Corner of Fifth and…Fifth" she replies on where she is staying. "There's a nice little alley and the trash is regularly emptied."

***

Bobby sighs. The fact that Wanda is still here means that clearly she eats and such but… well, he feels bad especially since as best he can tell she really as a quite decent person. "Table's the easy part. Why don't you go get that one by the window and I'll get us some drinks."

That part takes a few minutes, but before long Bobby's back with a pair of lattes. "So what's all this with the house now?"

***

Wanda is staring out the window when Bobby returns, singing softly to herself before breaking in the aroma of the drink and smiling sweetly. "Thank you, Bobby." The cup is picked up and she blows delicately over the hot liquid. "The house is made of clocks" she explains casually. "The clocks are made of clocks. The people are made of clocks. All in there…" A delicate finger waves in the direction of the house. "Remember the spiders in the sewer?"

***

Bobby does. The spiders had been made of clocks as well. And had been quite destructive. It had taken the three of them to keep them from doing something fairly awful. "Yeah. Is it like that?" Because if it is he needs to make a phone call.

***

"I think so" Wanda shrugs though it is unlikely she would be able to get anyone who doesn't know her to believe her. "I can hear the scratching under the ground" she adds, eyes narrowing and the fingers of her free hand scratching at her scalp. "So many little legs" she whispers. "There are a lot of clocks in the world…and they don't like the world."

***

Whatever it is that makes those things, Bobby can believe that. The question is are they in immediate danger or is there time. "Is it time to be a hero then?" Wanda's asked him that question before. Hopefully she knows the answer now.

***

"Is there ever a time not to be a hero?" Wanda asks, confused for a moment that Bobby even has a choice in the matter. She looks over at the dark building. "We can wait" she nods slowly. "The Watchmaker isn't here yet" she notes solemnly. A long silence before she is suddenly looking back at Bobby, her smile broad and warm. "Are you in love with Nyx? Have you seen my brother?"

***

That almost makes Bobby spit his coffee. Particularly since he'd just been out seeing a movie with Nyx. "No, not in love with her. Good friend though. I like her. Trust her." And he does. Though he worries for what may be happening to her. "Your brother… I think you may have asked me before. Do you remember his name or what he looks like?"

***

"Pietro" Wanda replies about her brother. Unlike him she hasn't been afflicted with memory problems. "He's all silver" she notes before making whooshing noises and flinging her hands about. "He runs really quick. Especially away from me." A pout lingers for a moment before she shrugs. "I think he likes to be alone. I like Nyx…though I think she is…hmmm…not as strong as she thinks." A little tap of her finger to the side of her forehead. "If you understand." Pot meet kettle.

***

The tap on the head gets a smile. "She takes on a lot. And she tries hard. But I do know what you mean. I like her too."

Hrm. Her brother. That name… "Peitro…" Bobby thinks and then. "Wait. Silver?" The mutant that Professor X and taken him to meet… and the one he'd seen with Kitty the other night at the Nicks game. "Wanda, I know your brother. And I think I know where he's staying too."

***

"You do!?" Wanda's eyes open wide with excitement before suddenly looking tired once more. "Is he okay? Is he safe?" She bites on her lower lip before whispering urgently to herself. "If he wanted to see you he would come. But he doesn't. He runs away. He lies." Wanda breathes heavily as she hisses at herself, her hands starting to glow scarlet with angry energy.

***

"He doesn't remember your name, Wanda." Pietro had asked about his sister when Bobby first met him, but been unable to provide any details, so they hadn't been able to look. "But he wants to find you. He just doesn't know how. I can take you to where he's staying." And he will. Right when they're done here. X-Security be damned, the school isn't a secret and it's the woman's brother. Besides, maybe the telepaths there can help her.

"Wanda…" Bobby hesitates, then touches her hand. "He's safe. And I'll take you to him."

***

The glow around her hand recoils from Bobby's touch but her hand does not. Thankfully he isn't to be singed tonight…at least not by her. Her green eyes study her coffee companion for a long moment. She has no reason not to trust him. He's friends with Nyx after all and she trusts her. Still…there are people after her and her brother and if they've already caught him… "Okay" she agrees softly before looking back at the house. "When we are finished." It seems that actually seeing her brother again is more frightening than whatever lurks in that old building.
