Bobby - call him old fashioned - didn't like the idea of Wanda having to scrounge or sleep in the street tonight and while she does seem to get along okay and also seems to have a tendency to wander, he's brought her over to the X-Red headquarters and let her use one of the empty apartments in the living area. He crashed in a different empty apartment for the night himself (he does, sometimes, when he's not at his house or the Nest). That was some hours ago. Now it's early ish in the morning - round about six AM really - and the Ice Nerd is going over the morning feeds and reports through the X-Red systems and checking his DCI email from a tablet while he makes breakfast. He does notice that they're scheduled for a friendly check up from the Titans at some point this morning.

***

Wanda isn't used to comforts…and wary of strange rooms. Even though it was Bobby who brought her here she still spent the night on the floor and only half asleep. Bobby will hear the soft pad of bare feet on the floor as he studies the feeds. Wanda is wandering. Hopefully she won't set off any alarms but she doesn't seem to think a closed door is reason not to go through it. She sings to herself as she explores so at least she can be easily found.

***

Zee's rather bemused at the appointment that's been placed in her calendar as part of her duties with the Titans.

Zee's not a superhero, and most who see her could be forgiven for thinking she's just an ordinary 19 year old. That is, unless they've caught her magic show or seen her in action… and then they'd know differently.

So it is, with a glimmer of amusement in her eyes, that she knocks on the door to the apartment rather early. There's very little information on the appointment, just 'Meet X-Red' and the address.

***

Bobby is, rather distractedly, tracking Wanda's progress through the X-Red area. So long as she doesn't, like, jump out a window, he's fairly sure everything will be okay.

Berto didn't have any 'guests' over last night, did he? He doesn't think so at any rate. So no one to scare in a potentially awkward position. "Wanda?! There's breakfast if you'd like!" Security buzzes up that Zatanna of the Titans is asking to come up. Huh. That must be that appointment. He responds to let her come up through the direct elevator and he'll meet her in the X-Red common area.

***

Breakfast? Wanda looks around for the voice from the heavens…which sounds a lot like Bobby…before following her nose to the food. "Thank you, Voice!" she calls out to the ceiling. Odd apartment. No people but plenty of spirits. She plonks herself down at the breakfast nook of the 'House of Spirits' and starts to eat, eyeing off the doors just in case monsters lurk here. A thought occurs. Didn't Bobby bring her here? "Bobby!?"

***

Zee heads on up when waved through, bestowing a bright sunny smile on the security guard. The guard had recognised her and asked her to sign something… that happens every now and again. Stepping in to the elevator, she's not overly surprised that it starts moving as soon as the doors shut.

***

The elevator deposits Zee in the main level of the X-Red common area near the Headquarters which happens to be near where the kitchen is. She arrives just in time to hear Wanda call for Bobby. The bearded physicist grins as he peeks his head around the corner. "I"m right here Wanda. We should be having guests so- Oh, Hello Zatanna. It's Zatanna right? I think you and I have met before. Come on in."

***

Wanda peers at Bobby's floating bearded head. "Did you have hair before?" she asks before shrugging it off and getting back to her food. He's around so all is good. Then she hears another familiar name. "Zatanna? Is Zatanna here too?" She looks around the kitchen. "Is this where the heroes live?" she mutters to herself. The witch is dressed in what she slept in…and what she has lived in for weeks. She may be a bit smelly.

***

"Yes Bobby, at least three times before" Zee smiles and reminds the ice nerd "Guess I'm too hot for you to remember." poor joke to drop on cool Bobby "And please, it's Zee to my friends." Hearing Wanda's voice, Zee grins a little "Hello Wanda. No, I don't live here, I'm just visiting this morning." Looking over at Bobby "The appointment in my book was very vague…. and well, I haven't had chance to catch up with Keith to find out more. So… why am I here?"

***

"Heroes do live here." Bobby grins. "At least, Berto does and he's pretty heroic." Bobby does not add 'just ask all his girlfriends.' He likes to tease his Warm Twin but some things others might not get. "Come on in Zee, have a seat. Would you like breakfast? I'm making pancakes." Lots of them by the way Wanda is eating.

"I think Keith just wanted some regular non-fighty contact between us. You've met Wanda before?" Why is he not surprised.

***

Wanda gives Zee a wave with one hand while stuffing pancakes in her mouth with the other. "They are very nice" she offers, half chewed bits dropping from her mouth as she speaks. "Oops" she laughs, "That wasn't very lady like." Her accent is still strong but her English is getting better - using contractions and idioms and everything. "Who are Berto and Keith? Oh, Bobby, did you know this house has a spirit with your voice?" Her brow furrows deeply. "Do you two normally fight?"

***

Zee would get it and she returns Bobby's grin as she follows him through to where Wanda is and takes a seat. "If you're cooking, Bobby, then I'll have some." the raven haired woman waves back to Wanda. "We do know each other, sort of." Zee gives each of them a warm smile "We keep tripping over each other in places… Are you living here now, Wanda?" Wanda's rapid fire questions have Zee laughing a little "Keith is the leader of the team I'm part of part, called The Titans. And, Bobby and I don't fight each other… our teams normally fight together against bad guys."

***

"Which is great for teamwork and not so good for knowing the other people. Hard to ask how someone is doing in the middle of icing a bad guy off or dodging power blasts." Bobby grins. "Um, spirit with my voice?" Does she mean the PA? Or him… yelling? "I'll have to… listen more closely. Maybe it just likes the way my voice sounds."

Zee gets a stack of pancakes too and finally Bobby himself sits down to eat. "I brought Wanda here last night because she's… not had much of a place to stay." And he's not sure she'll stick around but he does what he can.

***

"Zee knows I live on the street" Wanda assures Bobby. "Sometimes she buys me food too. It's better I live on the street. It is much easier to hide from the people who stole my brother." A faint glimmer of memory stops Wanda. Didn't Bobby know who stole her brother? She peers at him, her mind reaching into his without meaning too. "Bobby's friends have my brother but why would heroes have my brother." Wanda's face screws up as scratches at her head…hard…she may even be drawing blood. "Why are people so hard to understand?"

Suddenly she is glaring at the pair like a frightened animal. "I should go" she whispers, scooping up some pancakes to shove into her pocket. Blood trickling down her cheek as backs slowly away. "You are my friends" she decides, "But I don't think I belong here."

***

"We seem to do alright, generally. But this is a good idea." Tucking into the pancakes, Zee eats quickly and neatly, "These are good Bobby, really good." Wanda's sudden revelation has Zee frowning and looking at Bobby in all seriousness… considering, before turning back to Wanda.

"Why don't you think you belong here? And … if Bobby's friends have your brother, I think you can trust him to help you out." Zee knows a little about how Bobby views those things, having heard part of a conversation not too long ago.

***

"Wanda, you're fine here, why are you- don't hurt yourself." She's drawing blood and there's the sudden rather odd sensation of someone poking around in his head. Ow? "Wanda, really, you don't have to go." He won't stop the woman (it's not a good idea) but he might well follow her out. Damn it. Nyx is a lot better at calming her down.

***

"This is not safe for me" Wanda mumbles to herself as she looks around at the kitchen. Even back home in Transia she lived in a caravan, not a house. This is odd. Too…unnatural? "You are friends" she admits again, "But I don't know what you want from me. The people who took us in Transia were friends. And they made me kill my mother." Her fingers are twitching now. That red energy starting to spark in the air around them. At least she isn't running for the door…yet. "I'm alone…I have to be alone." Though she does sound like she's trying to convince herself.

***

For Zee, when she is stressed and worried, touch is the only real fix. Two magic users, touching?

Zee holds out a hand to take one of Wanda's, even with the red energy sparking around. "Read my intent… Wanda." Zee will let Wanda sense she only means to help the woman "I want nothing more than for you to feel safe and be safe."

***

Bobby comes up closer, carefully. "Wanda, we're your friends. We won't hurt you. We won't hurt your family. We won't make you hurt your family." He looks very seriously at the very disturbed woman. "I promise, Wanda. I swear to you."

***

The red energy sparks and shifts around Zee's hand. It bites at her flesh, more like a slap than the searing burns it could probably unleash. Her mind does try to peer into that of the other sorceress. To try and learn the truth even if Wanda isn't conscious of her own effort. "Then bring me my brother" she spits out at the pair, green eyes skipping from one to the other. Blood still trickles down her cheek, dripping onto the kitchen floor. And behind her there seems to be a darkness forming. Light suddenly finding it difficult to pass through the area. Everything behind the strange aberration fading into greys. And then, just for a moment, two yellow eyes stare out of that darkness at Zatanna and Bobby. They are alight with mirth…and malice…before the whole strange event disappears and they are left with a frightened, angry Wanda once more.

***

Zee grimaces, her eyes water a little, as the red energy bites at her. "I wish I could…" Zee grits through the event, eyes widening at the darkness and what she's seeing.

And then it's gone. Zee glances at Bobby, raising an eyebrow as it to say 'did you see that?'. The blood dripping get's the young womans attention and Zee will attempt to heal Wanda… palms out towards the woman, channeling healing, as Zee does.

***

"Alright. I'll try to get ahold of Peitro. I know he was with Kitty." That was the last time Bobby saw him but he feels certain that 'Quicksilver' is still hanging around the school. Seems reasonable, at any rate. If not, Kitty should know where he is.

***

"Who is Kitty?" Wanda glares at Bobby, barely noticing Zatanna's healing of her bleeding wound. "Did she steal my brother? Is that it? Or…" Her eyes open in shock and she stumbles back into the kitchen bench behind her. "Is she…is she his…" Wanda starts to crumple to the ground, the energy around her hands burning two holes into the kitchen floor. "Is that why he doesn't need me anymore?" Her voice now weak and forlorn. As if the world just fell on her.

***

Zee's focussed on the healing, she's barely paying attention to Bobby and Wanda… She probably can work out who Kitty is, but it's not important to her right now. Just as healing completes, Wanda starts to crumble and Wandas power arcs. Zee grimaces and winces, pulling her hands back, rubbing them together.

Looking to Bobby and then to Wanda, it's going to take Zee a few minutes to acclimate herself to what's happening now.

***

"Kitty's a friend. No, she hasn't replaced you or stolen him." Bobby kneels down next to Wanda and touches her shoulder. "I'll find Pietro. Now that I know who to look for it'll be easier. He's staying with some of my friends, I think." He doesn't know that Wanda will want to go there though. "We can try to bring him here or try to get you there. Which is easiear?"

The Kitchen is… oy. Well. Simon will be wirting some expense reports.

***

Wanda is staring at the floor between her legs. Her lips are moving but no sound can be heard. The energy around her hands starts to dissipate as her shoulders slump. Finally there is recognition of the words via a single nod. "We want Pietro" she whispers. "The alarm is about to ring."

***

"We want…" Zee frowns at Wanda, still rubbing her hands together to dispel the shocked feeling. Looking up at the smoke alarm and then back to the holes in the floor. "Smoke alarms, Bobby." Zee considers "I can probably fix the floors." Practical Zee is practical.

"I'm tempted to say try bringing him here." Zee's not sure Wanda should be out in public when she's stressed like this "but I don't know the brother… " Maybe have them meet in the middle of a football field or something.

***

"He doesn't remember her. If I can speak to him though, telling him should be all it takes." Bobby calmly ices off one of the smoke alarms. "He seemed very determined to find her. Just had nowhere to start."

"We'll get him." He also picked up on the 'we' but… doesn't ask for now.

***

Wanda continues to sit as the pair discuss her brother. There is no reaction from the slumped woman…save for a single nod to Bobby's promise to get him. And then she gets to her feet - a smooth movement that seems a bit unnatural to any onlookers. "I have to stop the alarm" she says to them both, "Before it wakes me up." With another one of her cryptic comments lingering in the air, she starts walking for the room she spent the night in. Her shoes are there for a start.
